Specialized service management is a process of providing service needs to students to support learning activities so that educational goals can be achieved effectively and efficiently. The services provided by the school are very satisfying, such as a library that is equipped with books that fit the lesson, labor that makes students feel happy to experiment, the school health unit (UKS) is a health business run at a school that makes students majoring in science especially feel comfortable and at ease, school cafeteria, religious advice, boarding, cooperatives and transportation. The researcher uses the literature study method by collecting literature study methods by collecting material materials both sourced from books, journals, and other sources related to the administration of facilities and infrastructure. Related sources are about understanding special service administration, types of special services, and also the role of the teacher in the administration of special services. Rationale.Matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) expression is upregulated in alveolar macrophages (AM) of HIV1+smokers who develop emphysema. Knowing that lung epithelial lining fluid (ELF) of HIV1+smokers contains increased levels of inflammatory cytokines compared to HIV1−smokers, we hypothesized that upregulation of lung cytokines in HIV1+smokers may be functionally related to increased MMP-9 expression.Methods.Cytokine arrays evaluated cytokine protein levels in ELF obtained from 5 groups of individuals: HIV1−healthy nonsmokers, HIV1−healthy smokers, HIV1−smokers with low diffusing capacity (DLCO), HIV1+nonsmokers, and HIV1+smokers with lowDLCO.Results. Increased levels of the Th17 related cytokine IL-23 were found in HIV1−smokers with lowDLCOand HIV1+smokers and nonsmokers. Relative IL-23 gene expression was increased in AM of HIV1+individuals, with greater expression in AM of HIV1+smokers with lowDLCO. Infection with HIV1in vitroinduced IL-23 expression in normal AM. IL-23 stimulation of AM/lymphocyte coculturesin vitroinduced upregulation of MMP-9. Lung T lymphocytes express receptor IL-23R and interact with AM in order to upregulate MMP-9.Conclusion. This mechanism may contribute to the increased tissue destruction in the lungs of HIV1+smokers and suggests that Th17 related inflammation may play a role.

Purpose This paper aims to better understand how an accounting information system (AIS), working as a multidimensional knowledge object, engages users in a new round of knowledge development which allows them to explore new managerial directions. Drawing on the concept of the knowledge object and the knowing in practice perspective, this study considers the relationships between subjects and objects in the explication of accounting practice, underlining how AIS could become a knowledge object that can assume a variety of forms, starting from such contradictions emerging from practice. Design/methodology/approach Theoretical argumentations are applied to a case study at a global logistics provider in the South of Italy, which manages the supply chain from origin to destination, offering a multitude of services in the transport and distribution sector. Findings The case study shows that the process of knowledge accumulation promotes the mutation of AIS into a knowledge object that, in its variety of forms, allows managers to explore new managerial directions such as the reorganization of warehouse activities. Originality/value The paper seeks to enrich the interpretation of AIS as a multidimensional knowledge object becoming a catalyst of new managerial directions through knowing. That helps to understand the role of accounting tools as a social practice supporting decision-making and how accounting systems’ openness and questioning nature makes them objects of enquiry able to support the identification of new managerial directions and lead the AIS to continually explode and mutate into something else.

This article reviews three recent decisions of the United States Supreme Court in which employees of state governments have been barred from suing their employers for alleged violations of federal employment statutes. It offers a brief review of the role of the 11th Amendment and an examination of the Court's recent rulings in employment and non-employment cases. Finally, some observations on the significance of the new direction in which the Court is heading are offered.

For some scholars, the role of public service journalism is profoundly ethical, though it exists amidst a diversity of incommensurate but not necessarily incompatible views and values. Public service journalism exists as part of a global media that has been referred to as a “mediapolis”: descriptively, a place, a communicative system where the world is constituted, and by means of which we learn about Others. Normatively it is an ideal of communication, a place where information and opinion may be expressed civilly to enable good choices to be made and public concerns to be thoughtfully addressed. As such, it is a place of equal expression. However, practically it must contend with finding a way to identify, value and integrate a wide array of voices. A mediapolis needs to become a place where a just and hospitable media enables the fundamental process of finding ways of living together. A key principle for the governance of mediapolis concerns “journalism”: uncensored, diverse, reliable journalism is essential to the making of well-informed decisions and a healthy political life. To this end and in order to anticipate a digital future where there exists an ethical mediapolis for global public benefit and where the internet and good journalism go hand in hand and are no longer antagonistic, contemporary public service journalism should reconceive the news as discursive rather than monological and informational, and the public as consisting of an interpreting, acute audience of citizens, rather than one of informed readers. If such a consummation were to be achieved then critical news judgements would be the norm, no matter how large or small the audience. Journalism would be an effective watchdog because government would be perpetually aware that a sufficient number of confident, attentive citizens is following the news and that, in consequence, it must function knowing that there is a constant risk of shame, disgrace, conviction and loss of popularity and office. In sum, public service journalism consists of civil expression of information, accommodating a multiplicity of voices, the news conceived of as discursive rather than merely informational, and the public conceived of as critical interpreting citizens rather than informed readers.

In the preparation of polymer-clay nanocomposites the chemical incompatibility between the clay surface and polyolefins can be overcome by using clays organically modified with short chain organic cations. The compatibility can be further enhanced by using functionalized polymer that wets the clay surface while being miscible with the non-polar polymer matrix. In this work we tried to modify the host polymer polypropylene (PP) by irradiating it with gamma-rays in air knowing that it undergoes oxidation and chain scission simultaneously. Thus lower molecular weight PP with highly polar surface due to oxidation can be expected to play double role of clay modifier and functional compatibilizer. This has been observed to be the case. Finely ground PP granules were irradiated in air in a 60Co γ-irradiator at the dose rate of 0.08 kGy/h (low dose rate to enhance oxidation) to 5, 10, and 20 kGy total doses. The extent of oxidation and change in molecular weight were determined by ATR-FTIR and Melt Flow Rate measurements respectively. PP/MMT nanocomposites were prepared by using 20% γ-PP, 1-5 % MMT and pristine PP to make up the total 100 in a torque rheometer. Maleated PP was also used in similar quantities to compare the effectiveness of γ-PP as a compatibilizing agent. Nanocomposites prepared with 10 kGy irradiated PP was found to show optimum mechanical properties among all formulations, with 26% increase in E-modulus and 10% increase in tensile strength as compared to pristine PP. Ternary PP nanocomposites were characterized by XRD, SAXS and PALS studies.
