One of the problems of electricity quality is harmonics. Harmonic is one ofthe components sinusoidal from one period wave that has the frequency representingmultiple from the fundamental component. Voltage and current distortion caused bynon-linear loads. One of kinds of non-linear loads is Inverter. Harmonic is verydisturbs and harm when exceeding standard limit that appointed. Standard worn asreference in this research is standard IEEE 519-1992, used to voltage limit andmaximum harmonic current.

Harmonic amplification for doubly-fed induction generator wind turbine systems (DFIG WTSs) will occur due to the existence of non-linear loads and reactive power compensation installation, and grid voltage and total grid current at the point of common coupling (PCC) will be distorted. An impedance model is established to analyze the interaction between DFIG WTS, non-linear loads and weak grids. Harmonic current impact factor and harmonic voltage impact factor is proposed to analyze the impact of harmonic current source on total grid current and voltage at the PCC with different control strategies. A virtual harmonic resistor and capacitor method is adopted to reduce the harmonic voltage. An impedance-based analysis method is adopted to analyze the stability of the DFIG system. To achieve optimal control of harmonic voltage and harmonic current, a coordination factor is proposed to adjust the dynamic allocation for harmonic voltage and harmonic current at PCC. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.

Loads of electricity utility consists of linear loads and non linear loads. The non linear loads for example TV, personal computer, VCD player, microwave and fluorescent lamp using electronics ballast. Loads with non linear characteristics become harmonic current source to electricity utility. Condition prediction used statistic linear comparison based on load power to THDi (Distortion of Harmonic Current). Measurement result using power quality analyzer and etap 4.0 (Fluke 43B) find typical THDi. The calculation and measurement result of PF and THD to loads of electricity utility show the differences less than 5%. However power factor formulation and distortions of harmonic current is valid

AbstractThis paper examines the interaction between non-linear deterministic trends and long run dependence by means of employing Chebyshev time polynomials and assuming that the detrended series displays long memory with the pole or singularity in the spectrum occurring at one or more possibly non-zero frequencies. The combination of the non-linear structure with the long memory framework produces a model which is linear in parameters and therefore it permits the estimation of the deterministic terms by standard OLS-GLS methods. Moreover, the orthogonality property of Chebyshev’s polynomials makes them especially attractive to approximate non-linear structures of data. We present a procedure which allows us to test (possibly fractional) orders of integration at various frequencies in the presence of the Chebyshev trends with no effect on the standard limit distribution of the method. Several Monte Carlo experiments are conducted and the results indicate that the method performs well. An empirical application, using data of real exchange rates is also carried out at the end of the article.

(Ed. note: The custom in these Symposia has been to have a summary-introductory presentation which lasts about 1 to 1.5 hours, during which discussion from the floor is minor and usually directed at technical clarification. The remainder of the session is then devoted to discussion of the whole subject, oriented around the summary-introduction. The preceding session, I-A, at Nice, followed this pattern. Christy suggested that we might experiment in his presentation with a much more informal approach, allowing considerable discussion of the points raised in the summary-introduction during its presentation, with perhaps the entire morning spent in this way, reserving the afternoon session for discussion only. At Varenna, in the Fourth Symposium, several of the summaryintroductory papers presented from the astronomical viewpoint had been so full of concepts unfamiliar to a number of the aerodynamicists-physicists present, that a major part of the following discussion session had been devoted to simply clarifying concepts and then repeating a considerable amount of what had been summarized. So, always looking for alternatives which help to increase the understanding between the different disciplines by introducing clarification of concept as expeditiously as possible, we tried Christy's suggestion. Thus you will find the pattern of the following different from that in session I-A. I am much indebted to Christy for extensive collaboration in editing the resulting combined presentation and discussion. As always, however, I have taken upon myself the responsibility for the final editing, and so all shortcomings are on my head.)
