WRITING SKILLS IN SMP USWATUN HASANAH, BURU DISTRICT

Reading is a process carried out and used by the reader to obtain a message, which the writer wants to convey through the media of written language. A process that demands that groups of words which are a unity be seen at a glance, and so that the meaning of individual words will be known. If this is not fulfilled, then the explicit and implicit message will not be captured or understood, and the reading process will not be carried out properly. A process that demands that groups of words that represent a group will be seen in a glance, and so that the meaning of individual words will be known. This study aims to describe the language skills of Uswatun Hasanah Middle School students in Buru Regency. The research location is in the Islamic boarding school of Uswatun hasanah Namlea. data and data sources namely students of class VII Uswatun hasanah. the method in this study is PTK or classroom action research. The results of the study showed that the language skills of the seventh grade junior high students were very prominent as evidenced by the assignment of language assignments, namely.

This study was to investigate the effects of a process-based approach to writing interview articles using class-wide social network site (SNS) on the writing abilities and self-esteem of middle school students with intellectual disabilities. It also aimed at investigating these effects on attitudes of the students’ peers who were interviewed. A multiple probe baseline design across participants was employed to assess the writing abilities of three students with intellectual disabilities. A one-group pre- and posttest design was used to examine the changes in the attitudes of peers toward the students with intellectual disabilities. The intervention improved the writing abilities of the three participants along with increases of their self-esteem. The participants’ peers in the inclusive classrooms also showed positive changes in their attitudes toward the students with intellectual disabilities. This study has significance in that teaching interview article writing using class-wide SNS was effective not only in promoting the writing skills of students with intellectual disabilities but in improving their peers’ attitudes toward them. Implications and directions for future research are discussed.

The purpose of this research is to improve informative and narrative writing skills of middle school students. The study was designed with action research. The research group is middle school students. Data collection techniques were student diary, semi-structured interview form, semi-structured observation form and documents that consist of comics produced by the students. Descriptive analysis and content analysis techniques were used together in the analysis. It has been determined that the writing process has not attracted students; however, comic books have been shown to attract students It has also been found that the process of semantic interpretation of the text is facilitated. It has been determined that most spelling and punctuation mistakes were made in the writing process. It is thought that the reasons for these mistakes are the habits of out-of-school life. It has been determined that writing processes related to multimodal texts have a positive effect on students’ interest and sense of responsibility.Keywords: Comic book, graphic novel, informative writing, middle school student, narrative writing.*

It has become a very significant topic that how to help students overcome the Chinese negative transfer in English writing. This research attempts to investigate the main types of errors made by junior middle school students in their English writing, then to explore the causes of the identified errors, in order to avoid these types of errors. The research subjects are 107 students from two classes in grade eight of No.10 Middle School of Nanchong. Questionnaire and composition writing are used as instruments in this research. It hopes that, this paper can help teachers and students to overcome the influence of Chinese negative transfer, improve students’ English writing.

Four fundamental language skills interact with each other. Developing reading skills will also develop listening,speaking, and writing skills. Reading comprehension, using what is understood on new subjects and learning newwords during reading can influence listening comprehension as well as oral and written self-expression. Generalcomplaints of teachers and parents regarding middle school students are that the students do not read enough.Increasing love for reading in middle school students can only be possible by determining the interests and needs ofthose students and guiding the students towards those needs and interests. When the literature was reviewed, therewere no functional researches regarding the reading preferences of middle school students. In this regard, this studywas necessary to contribute to the literature.The purpose of this study was to determine the reading preferences of middle school students. The pattern of thisresearch was created based on qualitative case study and under the scope of this study, 25 participants were selectedfor each class level including 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. Data was collected with the semi-structuredinterview technique. Data was themed by two experts using content analysis. Similar answers were converted intonumerical data and presented in the form of tables. Examples from student statements were given to support thetables. The results of the research indicated that a majority of students preferred reading on printed resources,selected novels as genre, read texts with 300 or more pages, and preferred adventure as subject. Additionally,students expressed that unknown words in reading texts should be low, they voluntarily spend 1-2 hours per dayreading, and preferred silent reading.

Health educators in elementary and secondary schools should seek collaborations with teachers of other subjects to enhance health education curriculum. The strategy described in this article details a potential collaboration between health education and language arts units. The activity enhances both drug education knowledge gains and creative writing skills among junior high/middle school students.

The purpose of learining Arabic is to master all four language skills, listening, speaking, reading dan writing skills. Most students have difficulty to mastering writing skills. Difficulties in mastering writing skills were also felt by Sabilul Muttaqin High School students in Pungging Mojokerto. It can be seen from the Arabic test scores of students who still have not reached the KKM (Minimum Completation Criteria) 75. Based on these problems, researchers want to use tondo maker comic learning media to improve students’ writing skills in Arabic lessons. This study uses a quantitative method to determine the effectiveness of the comics tondo maker media to improve Arabic writing skills. This research was conducted at Sabilul Muttaqin Mojokerto High School with tenth grade as a sample 66 students. In an effort to collect data, researchers used the method of observation, interviews, documentation, questionnaires and test. The results of this study indicate that the tondo maker comic media is effective in an effort to improve student writing skills based on the results of T count is 3,255 greater than T table, which is 2,30. From these results indicate that Ho is rejected and the results of sig Tailed 0.003 is smaller than 0.005 which indicates Ho’s rejection and Ha’s acceptance.
