The purpose of this study is to investigate the public aid role in to multifunctional farms in developing the rural tourism, and the implementation in non-agricultural activities in the Puglia region. Concretely, by referring to the Rural Development Program 2007/2013, this paper offers an analysis to verify whether there is a solid support for public aid in agrotourism using a farm level data. After a policies and literature review on the role of the Local Action Groups (LAGs) for enhancing economic and sustainable competitiveness of rural areas, we present our case study. Statistical analysis and a tree classification method are carried out.

The important role of women in rural development has been brought repeatedly to notice in the literature, but the role of women entrepreneurs in rural development is a more novel issue. Rural tourism has provided a fundamental opportunity for women to join the job market and earn recognition of their economic independence and professional status, but little evidence exists of the real impact of rural tourism businesses run by women. The objective of this research therefore is to evaluate the economic situation of women rural tourism entrepreneurs, determining what variables affect the probability that a woman owner or manager will earn her basic or fundamental income from running tourist accommodation (a country cottage). The results confirm that running rural tourist accommodation normally brings in supplementary income, although the rural environment seems to be witnessing the rise of a new profile in female entrepreneurs, where there is less dependence on the traditional family structure and greater proximity to both personal and economic independence. The growing emergence of an appreciation of the significance of narrative, within philosophy, the social sciences and the humanities, has had a significant impact on theory and practice within the field of counseling and psychotherapy. The influence of narrative thinking has been felt in two main ways. First, concepts of narrative have been assimilated into established forms of practice. For example, within psychoanalysis and psychodynamic therapy, it is now accepted that attention to narrative structures within the discourse of therapy can be used to generate a fuller understanding of the operation of well-known phenomena such as transference. The primary intention of this area of work has been to utilise narrative concepts to permit a deeper understanding of existing ideas about therapeutic processes and procedures. Second, a quite separate set of developments has seen the construction of an approach to therapy which begins from an acknowledgement of the central role of narrative and storytelling in lives and relationships. This alternative approach, generally described as “narrative therapy”, can be characterised as the formation of a postpsychological approach to therapy, which focuses on issues surrounding the performance of narratives within relationships, community and culture, rather than on inner psychological processes within individuals. It is argued that postpsychological narrative therapies have the potential to address key contemporary personal and social dilemmas in ways that are not possible within individualist models of therapy.

Apulia Region has many resources for rural tourism development. The reviewpaper analyses opportunities of Apulia region (south-eastern Italy) in rural tourism.The paper describes financial instruments of the European Union (EU), mainly theEuropean Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD), allowing ruraloperators to develop innovative and unique rural tourism offer. An important shareof the EAFRD is dedicated to diversification including rural tourism. The papersheds also light on opportunities offered by 2007-2013 Rural DevelopmentProgramme (RDP) of Apulia region and the role of Local Action Groups (LAG).The manuscript illustrates as well tourism statistics evolution in the period 2007-2013. The paper ends with perspectives offered by the new RDP 2014-2020, thatwas just approved; it specifically focus on new financing measures for strategies todevelop incoming rural tourism in Apulia region and cooperation networks amongLAGs.

If we want to convert our rural population into knowledge driven, progressive, self sufficient, self reliant, sustainable society, the role of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT’s) cannot be ignored. Timely availability information is considered as most important factor in Indian agriculture. At present ICT is the technology of this millennium. Transferring the developed technology to all end users is time-consuming and tiresome task and is often not completed due to paucity of resources and lack of manpower. In India, agriculture and rural development has gained significantly from ICT due to its widespread extension and adoption. In this era of internet, ICT is committed to provide real, timely accurate authentic information to the farmers and rural peoples.

This paper will grapple with notions of celebration, commemoration and leadership as narratives of memory in particular in the Ciskei Bantustan. It is to remember and reflect on our past to understand the present. It will also focus on the history of the Ciskei Homeland, leadership values, and role of traditional leaders, rural development, legislative imperatives, and system of separate development, coups, suppression, torture and killings that happened during this era between 1972 to 1994.
