This study investigated the role of emotional intelligence and self-efficacy on ethical work behavior of artisan in Maiduguri, capital of Borno State Northeast Nigeria. The study adopted behavioural theory of obedience as its main theoretical framework. Expos facto survey design was adopted for the study. Two hundred and eight-two (282) participants were selected accidentally for the study. Results revealed that artisans who reported with high emotional intelligence were significantly different in the level of ethical work behaviour compared to those who reported low level of emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence does not significantly predict ethical work behavior of artisan and self-efficacy significantly predict ethical work behavior of artisans. However, it shows that emotional intelligence and self-efficacy jointly predict ethical work behavior of artisan. There was no any significant main and interaction effect of emotional intelligence and self-efficacy on ethical work behaviour among artisans in Maiduguri. Female artisans significantly reported higher scores on ethical work behaviour scale than male artisans. The study however recommended that management of the organization should send their employees (artisans) on sponsored training programme of the organisation which focused on enhancing their ethical work behavior.Int. While employee proactivity has been hailed in management literature as a critical characteristic enabling an organization to accomplish its goals, little is known about how public sector employees exert proactivity at work. This study examines the effect of individual and contextual factors that enhance proactive work behavior among public sector employees. Using two samples of nonprofit hospital employees and part-time graduate students working in the public sector, we investigate the role of the need for cognition and psychological safety in promoting proactive behavior at work. We also examine the mediating role of self-efficacy in the relationship between the two antecedents and proactive behavior. We first confirm the measurement invariance across two samples and then examine hypothesized relationships using structural equation modeling. Our results show that both the need for cognition and perceived psychological safety promote proactive behavior through the mediation of employee’s role breadth self-efficacy.

This research aims to determine the role of emotional intelligence and organizational climate in predicting the counterproductive work behavior. This study used a quantitative approach survey. The method of data collection in this research was conducted by distributing scale to the research subjects, with a total of 146 civil servants. The data was analyzed using double regression techniques using SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solutions) 20.0. The result shows that the emotional intelligence and organizational climate can contribute together to decrease counterproductive behavior that occurs in the workplace (F (2, 143) = 5.266, p<.05, R2 = .069). Limitations and suggestions for further research were also discussed in this study.

Academic self-efficacy is important for students which will help them to perform better in studies. This study aims to explore the level of academic self-efficacy among UNIMAS undergraduates based on gender, CGPA and trait emotional intelligence. The samples of study involved are 50 male and 50 female participants which consists of final year students from Faculty of Cognitive Sciences and Human Development. The academic self-efficacy of the students is measured using the questionnaire adopted from a study by Sachitra and Bandara (2017) and The Short Form (TEIQue-SF) Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire is used to measure the trait emotional intelligence of the undergraduates. The result was analyzed using descriptive analysis and inferential analysis; independent samples t-test, One-Way ANOVA and Pearson’s correlation. The results of the study have shown that female students have higher academic self-efficacy compared to male students. In addition, students who obtain a higher CGPA also have higher self-efficacy. There was also a small positive correlation between trait emotional intelligence and academic self-efficacy.

The well-being of special education teachers is key to their mental health and also influences the development of their students. This study aimed to investigate the psychological mechanism of the well-being of special education teachers in China, where they are maximum in number. We explored the role of emotional intelligence (EI) and work engagement on the well-being of teachers. A total of 496 Chinese special education teachers participated in the current study. Results suggested that (1) the EI and work engagement were positively associated with the well-being of special education teachers; and that (2) work engagement played a mediating role on EI and well-being of special education teachers. To promote the well-being of special education teachers, suggestions for policymakers and schools are discussed.

Several previous studies have tested the relationship between leadership type and innovative work behavior. However, there have been only a few empirical studies examining the mediating role of creative self-efficacy on the relationship between entrepreneurial leadership and innovative work behavior. This study was conducted to fill this gap to understand the relationship between entrepreneurial leadership and innovative work behavior and the role of creative self-efficacy as a mediating variable for the relationship between entrepreneurial leadership and innovative work behavior. Data were collected using a questionnaire distributed to 190 employees of the Astra Honda Authorized Service Station (AHASS) and analyzed using Structural equation modeling with SmartPLS software. The results indicate that entrepreneurial leadership increases the innovative work behavior of employees. Besides, entrepreneurial leadership increases creative self-efficacy and leads to increased employee innovative work behavior. This study contributes to the development of the literature by providing empirical evidence on the relationship between entrepreneurial leadership and innovative work behavior and the role of creative self-efficacy in innovative behavior. This study confirms Social Cognitive Theory (SCT) that a person's self-efficacy will generate creative ideas in the workplace and produce innovative work. The practical implication is that leaders must provide greater opportunities for employees to develop creative ideas in the workplace to achieve an increase in innovative work behavior.
