Abstract CARPENTER STAINLESS TYPE 302 is one of the most widely used of the chromium-nickel stainless and heat-resisting steels. In the annealed condition it is austenitic, non-magnetic, extremely tough and ductile and it has excellent resistance to corrosion. Among its many uses are springs, woven screens, cables, salt-water fishing tackle, thermometers and camera parts.
