The article highlights the results of the organization of laboratory work using a modern digital training panel on electricity in a laboratory workshop on physics, which was developed and manufactured in Lutsk by the R & D center Mirroschool. As a result of the research, we proposed a method of organizing laboratory work in physics using a training panel. The article contains a fragment of laboratory work in physics, which allows to intensify the cognitive activity of students in teaching physics. The guidelines will be useful primarily for physics teachers and instructors who conduct laboratory work and demonstrations on electricity, laboratory technicians in physical laboratories who work with physical equipment, and will be useful to students who master the knowledge of experimental science. The training panel on electricity fully provides training rooms for physical classrooms, laboratories and training facilities in the section «Electrodynamics», which are used in the school curriculum approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. The panel can be used by both teachers and lecturers in higher education institutions. Of course, laboratory work and demonstrations of general secondary education institutions are quite easy to modernize and adapt, which allows you to use other training panels that are presented in the market of educational equipment. But when it comes to higher education or colleges, the list of laboratory work can be significantly reduced, or simply have to use additional educational equipment and laboratory workshops. The electric training panel is a modern, school, educational equipment, which, among other things, successfully agrees with the educational norms of the new Ukrainian school and STEM education. The panel meets all requirements: language legislation, education standards, compliance with sanitary legislation, fire and electrical safety, health care requirements, etc. Also, all consumables are available for purchase in Ukraine. Key words: laboratory work, demonstration, method, training panel, education.

The problem of organizing the initial process in higher education institutions of different accreditation levels was relevant at all stages of society formation and development. Thus, it does not go unnoticed by modern researchers, teachers-practitioners, and young scientists. Higher education puts forward new requirements for the organization of the training future professionals educational process, due to a number of needs and patterns of modern society development. This proves the urgency of this problem. The proposed article reveals the importance and necessity of proper organization of laboratory and practical work in biological and natural sciences during the future teacher training. The characteristic of laboratory and practical works is given there is a description of work methods during performance of the above-stated works. The influence of practical and laboratory works on personal orientations of students is revealed. The advantages of the newest technologies and the modern equipment application in the course of carrying out of a practical direction on biological and natural disciplines employment are noted. This allows students to better master the practical skills of the experiment, which they will directly apply while working at school. The educational process in higher education is aimed at the development of cognitive activity of students and the formation of a competent specialist of high qualification. That is why it needs a clear system organization that can combine traditional and modern forms and methods of learning. One of such traditional forms is laboratory classes, without which it is impossible to imagine the teaching of biological disciplines. Practical and laboratory classes are the most complex forms of organization of the educational process in a higher educational institution. After all, their effectiveness is determined not only by careful observance of all stages of preparation and conduct of classes, not only a high level of theoretical material, but the effectiveness of the necessary practical skills, which largely depends on the level of practical competence of research and teaching staff. Thus, practical and laboratory work is an active means of teaching biology in higher education. It is in the process of performing practical and laboratory work that it becomes clear how students have mastered the actual teaching material, whether the skills of creative use of these skills in practice have been formed, whether there are practical work skills.

The Common European Framework of Reference for Language (CEFR) has become the standard used to describe and evaluate students’ command of a second or foreign language. It is an internationally acknowledged standard language proficiency framework which many countries have adopted such as China, Thailand, Japan and Taiwan. Malaysia Ministry of Education is aware and realise the need for the current English language curriculum to be validated as to reach the international standard as prescribed by the CEFR. The implementation of CEFR has begun at primary and secondary level since 2017 and now higher education institutions are urged to align their English Language Curriculum to CEFR as part of preparation in receiving students who have been taught using CEFR-aligned curriculum at schools by year 2022. This critical reflection article elucidates the meticulous processes that we have embarked on in re-aligning our English Language Curriculum to the standard and requirements of CEFR. The paper concludes with a remark that the alignment of the English curriculum at the university needs full support from the management in ensuring that all the stakeholders are fully prepared, informed and familiar with the framework.

This research examines regional differences in higher education participation rates in Sudan, and their relations with socioeconomic factors related to development, such as human development index (HDI), women’s status, urban/rural, and source of income. We pay special attention to areas of Sudan where long-running conflicts exist. Two datasets are used: the 2009 National Baseline Household Survey, conducted by Sudan’s Central Bureau of Statistics; and 2016–2017 matriculating students’ data, obtained from Sudan’s Ministry of Education. Regression analysis of the household survey data shows that the most significant factors associated with university attendance are having electricity at home, having a mother who has completed primary education, and being from a non-conflict region. University entrance data shows that young adults from conflict regions lag markedly behind the rest of Sudan in entering students’ academic level. Educational resources in Sudan are densely concentrated in the capital Khartoum, and higher-performing students (especially males) from all regions tend to enroll in universities in Khartoum. Regional universities’ student bodies consist largely of lower-performing students from the same region, especially in conflict regions. Women’s participation in higher education is robust, and women bachelor’s students outnumber men. Our analysis suggests that the following policies could be most effective in improving regional higher education enrollment rates and outcomes: (1) improve infrastructure (electric power in particular) in underserved regions; (2) provide widespread primary education for women; (3) put additional resources into regional universities, to encourage geographical diversity and to better serve women in underdeveloped regions.
