The effectiveness of a nine-week college preparation summer program for visually impaired high school students is evaluated. Feedback from the students and their rehabilitation counselors indicates that the program increased the readiness of the students in the areas of communication, studying, personal-social and mobility.

Abstrak Keputihan sering kali dianggap suatu hal yang biasa sehingga sering diabaikan pentingnya pencegahan dan penanganan yang benar dan tepat. Jika remaja putri dapat mengenali gejala keputihan dan penanganannya maka remaja putri dapat beraktivitas dengan nyaman, aman, dan sehat, sehingga dapat meningkatkan produktivitas belajar. Sebaliknya jika mengabaikan pencegahan dan penanganan keputihan maka akan aktivitas belajar remaja putri akan terganggu sehingga tidak bisa menerima pembelajran dengan baik bahkan harus absen dari sekolah. Jika keputihan tidak segera diatasi akan dapat menimbulkan risiko bahaya yang fatal bagi kesehatan. Aktivitas yang menjadi acuan dalam penelitian ini adalah pengetahuan dan sikap siswa putri di SMAN  2 Tondano dengan pencegahan keputihan. Pada observasi atau pengamatan awal yang dilakukan, didapati bahwa siswa putri SMAN 2 Tondano pernah mengalami keputihan. Keputihan yang dialami siswa putri SMAN 2 Tondano didapati ada yang terjadi tidak hanya sekali dan terjadi dalam waktu yang cukup lama. Kondisi seperti ini dapat mengakibatkan timbulnya risiko penyakit reproduksi. Penelitian in menggunakan metode deskriptif analitik korelasi dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Teknik sampel yang digunakan yaitu total sampling berjumlah 39 responden. Hasil analisa dan pengujian data yang sudah dilakukan di SMAN 2 Tondano, maka  terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara pengetahuan siswa putri SMAN 2 Tondano dengan pencegahan keputihan dengan nilai p = 0.042 dan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara sikap siswa putri SMAN 2 Tondano di dengan pencegahan keputihan dengan nilai p = 0.022. Kata kunci: Pengetahuan, Sikap, Penanganan, Keputihan, Remaja Putri   Abstract Vaginal discharge is often considered a common thing so that is often overlooked the importance of prevention correct and appropriate treatment. Teenage girls can recognize the symptoms of vaginal discharge and their treatment, they can move in a comfortable, safe, and healthy way so that they can increase their learning productivity. On the other hand, if they ignore the prevention and treatment of vaginal discharge, the learning activities of a teenage girl will be disrupted so that they cannot receive learning properly and even have to be absent from school. If vaginal discharge is not immediately addressed, it can pose a risk of fatal danger to health. The activity that is used as a reference in this study is the knowledge and attitudes of female students at Senior High School Public 2 Tondano, with the prevention of vaginal discharge. In the initial observations, it was found that the female students of Senior High School Public 2 Tondano had experienced vaginal discharge. The discharge experienced by female students of Senior High School Public 2 Tondano was found to occur not only once and for a long time. Conditions like this can lead to the risk of reproductive disease. This research uses a descriptive-analytic correlation method with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used is a total sampling of 39 respondents. The results of data analysis and testing that have been carried out at Senior High School Public 2 Tondano, there is a significant relationship between the knowledge of female students of Senior High School Public 2 Tondano and prevention of vaginal discharge with p = 0.042 and there is a significant relationship between the attitudes of female students of Senior High School Public 2 Tondano in the prevention of vaginal discharge with p-value = 0.022. Dr. Hopkins is one of the few American women to have held a doctorate in science and a license to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Her career included academia, industry, and government. Esther was born Esther Arvilla Harrison on September 16, 1926, in Stamford, Connecticut. She was the second of three children born to George Burgess Harrison and Esther Small Harrison. Her father was a chauffeur and sexton at a church, and her mother worked in domestic service. Neither of her parents had an advanced education. Her father had some high school education; her mother attended only primary school. However, both of her parents wanted to make sure their children had a good education. When Esther was three and a half years old, her mother took her along to register her older brother for school. Because Esther was taller than her brother, the teacher suggested that she take the test to start school. She passed the test and was able to start kindergarten at the age of three and a half! She and her brother went to school together all through elementary school. Boys and girls were separated in junior high school; in high school they remained separate but attended the same school. She decided in junior high school that she wanted to be a brain surgeon. This was because she met a woman doctor in Stamford who had an office in one of the buildings that her father cleaned. The woman was a physician and graduate of Boston University Medical School. Esther decided that she wanted to be just like her. Therefore, when Esther entered high school, she chose the college preparatory math and science track. She took as many science courses as possible in order to get into Boston University. She spent a lot of time at the local YWCA, becoming a volunteer youth leader. One speaker at a YWCA luncheon discouraged her from entering science and suggested that she become a hairdresser. Esther was hurt but not discouraged by this. She graduated from Stamford High School in 1943.

In this paper I consider the performativity of racial identities and difference at a southern US high school. I utilize Butler's performativity theory along with geographic theories of race, racial difference, and racism to argue that teenage girls reinstate racial difference through their everyday spatial practices. The paper has two substantive sections in addition to the introduction and the conclusion. The first explores the segregated high school lunchroom. Here I examine two girls' narratives and suggest that these girls encounter the spatiality of racial difference in the lunchroom and repeat the practices of segregated sitting. Thus, they reinscribe racialized difference and identity through their spatial practices of sitting with same-race friends. The second substantive section focuses on girls' practices of identifying others' racial identities. In this section I argue that these identifications are spatialized and that racial difference and categorization are achieved through spatial policing and boundary making. Throughout the paper I argue that racial identity and racial difference are performative, but that performativity must account for the normative spatiality of social and racial practice.

Most mathematics teachers have been aware that the non-college student has been neglected so far as getting his rightful share of mathematics has been concerned. In most instances the awareness was passed passed off with a shrug of the shoulders and the blame for not establishing these courses, passed onto some one else. The need has become so acute that the tail is wagging the dog and it would seem that some action may be taken to aid in solving the problem. If you will check the number of graduates in your high school and the number of these graduates who enter college, you will find that only about 15% of the group go on to college. It must be admitted then, that we have constructed our mathematics curriculum largely for the 15% and the remaining 85% have received little or no consideration in mathematics and most of that was a make shift, hit or miss proposition. In some high schools, it is possible for a pupil to graduate without being required to pursue any class in mathematics. If a search were made, I suspect that many more high schools are permitting this situation than we know. Mathematics teachers as a group are rather complacent and hold the dignity of their profession on a high plane. This is as it should be. Since we are supposed to know the meaning of facts as expressed in figures, then we must admit that 85% of a graduating class is a greater responsibility than 15% of the class. To reach 85% of the class, I hope that we will bestir ourselves from this smug complacency in academic mathematics and lend a helping hand to those who need, but seldom get any mathematics. We must become mathematical missionaries and carry the gospel truth to the majority who need aid in mathematics other than that prescribed for the selected few who go to college. We must show the way or continue to see school subjects with less concrete usefulness and more aggressive leaders reducing our mathematics time in the curriculum.

Background: Problems related to adolescent reproductive behavior are often rooted in a lack of information, understanding and awareness to achieve reproductive health, so that impacts such as risky sexual behavior in adolescents can arise; therefore, the use of peer supports is very important. Objective: to describe the utilization of peer support of the adolescents in SMA Suluh of South Jakarta in 2019. Method: the research type was descriptive quantitative with crosssectional design. The population was all students in one senior high school with a sample of 100 respondents collected through stratified random sampling. Result: This study showed that most of the students had used peer support (66%), and small part of the respondents did not yet utilize peer support (34%). Most of the respondents who did peer support were teenage girls (72%), living with their parent (68%), having good knowledge (66%), school support (70.3%), and support from health workers (67.8%).  Conclusion: Most of the respondents had implemented peer support with support system from self-capacity, family support and support from the school

Dysmenorrhea is one of the menstrual problems experienced by teenage girls. According to WHO, the incidence of dysmenorrhea throughout the world estimated prevalence of 16.8% -81%. Dysmenorrhea pain felt by a teenage girl during menstruation can affect the daily activities, including in learning activities at school. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of dysmenorrhea with learning activities in a teenage girl aged 15-18 years at Public High School 1 Banguntapan, Yogyakarta. This study used a cross-sectional design. The population was teenage girl class X-XI at Public High School 1 Banguntapan, Yogyakarta, totalling 133 people. Samples amounted to 80 people. The sampling technique was purposive sampling. The research instrument used was NRS and learning activity questionnaire. Data analysis by Kendall tau. The results of this study showed that 42.5% of respondents experienced mild dysmenorrhea, and 57.5% experienced severe dysmenorrhea. Learning activities felt disturbed when dysmenorrhea was 88.8% of respondents, quite disturbed by 7.5%, and 3.8% felt undisturbed. The results of the Kendall analysis or the results show ρ = 0,000 (ρ <0.05). There is a relationship between dysmenorrhea with learning activities in a teenage girl aged 15-18 years at Public High School 1 Banguntapan, Yogyakarta.
