The process of modeling the temperature distribution on surfaces, applying an image to curved areas with minimal distortion requires the formation of isometric grids on the plane and on the surface. One of the common ways to form planar isometric networks is to use the functions of a complex variable and planar isotropic curves, followed by separation of the real and imaginary parts. The development of computer models for the interactive search and analysis of isometric networks according to various initial geometric conditions provides a generalized method for their formation with the possibility of varying their shape and position. It is proposed to use an isotropic vector for the formation of flat isotropic curves, which ensured a single sequence of analytical calculations according to the following initial conditions: 1) selection of an arbitrary function of a real argument; 2) a given parametric equation of a plane curve; 3) a given polar equation of a plane curve. Since the analytical calculations of the derivation of the parametric equation of a plane isotropic curve and the corresponding isometric grid are rather laborious, their execution is carried out in the environment of the Maple symbolic algebra. To this end, the corresponding software has been created, which interactively allows you to select the function of a real argument, a parametric or polar equation of a plane guide curve. All subsequent stages of analytical transformations to form an isotropic curve and the corresponding isometric grid are carried out automatically. An interactive model for the formation and analysis of plane isotropic curves with various initial conditions has been created, which has shown its effectiveness, which is confirmed by the given examples of plane isometric grids for specific functions of the real parameter, plane curves in the parametric and polar form of their job.


According to Klein’s Erlanger programme, one may (indirectly) specify a geometry by giving a group action. Conversely, given a group action, one may ask for the corresponding geometry. Recently, I showed that the real asymptotic symmetry groups of general relativity (in any signature) have natural ‘projective’ classical actions on suitable ‘Radon transform’ spaces of affine 3-planes in flat 4-space. In this paper, I give concrete models for these groups and actions. Also, for the ‘atomic’ cases, I give geometric structures for the spaces of affine 3-planes for which the given actions are the automorphism group.

Abstract In this paper a problem of approximating the real numbers by using the series of real numbers is considered. It is proven that if the given family of sequences of real numbers satisfies some conditions of set-theoretical nature, like being closed under initial subsequences and (additionally) possessing properties of adding and removing elements, then it automatically possesses some approximating properties, like, for example, reaching supremum of the set of sums of subseries.

Wax deposition on walls of oil pipes is a common occurrence in crude oil extraction and is one of the major impediments to oilfield production. The most common method of paraffin removal is superconducting car thermal washing. This study proposes a heat flow coupling model that can analyze the temperature of the tubing-casing annular space to solve the low efficiency problem caused by adjusting initial parameters empirically. Using the superconducting car thermal washing process at the test oil well in city of Daqing, Chine as research object, the real-time temperature of annulus under various initial conditions is acquired by the fully-distributed Raman optical fiber temperature monitoring system. Compared with the real time data, theoretical data has a maximum deviation of 5?C, this result verifies the accuracy of the model. Based on the model, the study investigates the optimal initial parameters of superconducting car thermal washing by taking effective depth as an optimization goal. The optimal parameters for oil wells with different working conditions are obtained to improve the effectiveness of paraffin removal and increase thermal efficiency. This study provides theoretical support and an inspection method to promote superconducting car thermal washing and paraffin removal as well as to improve productive efficiency.

The task of interpreting the Bible has two main phases— the understanding of the text and the transformation or making relevant of its meaning for modern readers. The steady decline of monolithic religious structures and the growth of pluralism in modern society have produced multivariant forms of intellectual activity embracing the Bible as part of their subject matter. Thus the Bible is embedded in the given of European culture and functions as part of the hermeneutical processes of Jewish, Christian, Muslim and secular traditions. The quest for understanding may be common to all the traditions but the task of transformation can take one of two forms. From within the religious tradition transformation is the attempt to reinterpret the text so as to make it meaningful in contemporary terms but always controlled by the tradition. This form may simply be termed transformation from within or controlled transformation. The alternative form is transformation without limits or control. In this form fidelity to a tradition is not paramount and the real concern is to see how far the material may be transformed so as to constitute an independent entity itself.

This chapter considers the concept of ineffability. Has this concept been monopolized by pluralists who use it to provide an object that is sufficiently mystical and unfathomable to accommodate religious differences? Does the ineffable do any work in their systems other than provide a formal category of ultimacy? The chapter seeks to investigate this by evaluating the use of ineffability, or the transcategorial, by advocates of the pluralist view of religions. In the second part, the chapter seeks to bring the analytic tradition into dialogue with the phenomenological tradition and particularly with the work of Jean-Luc Marion. Marion highlights the given-ness or excess of experiences that do not rely on metaphysical grounds. The chapter suggests an alternative account of ‘the Real’ as an experience of excess (the ‘transcategorial phenomenal’) that takes place in the midst of the event of interreligious encounter. ‘The Real’ from the ground-up.

It has been reported that unprotected contact with the dead bodies of infected individuals is a plausible way of Nipah virus transmission. An SIRD model is proposed in this paper to investigate the impact of unprotected contact with dead bodies of infected individuals before burial or cremation and their disposal rate on the dynamics of Nipah virus infection. The model is analyzed, and the reproduction number is computed. It is established that the disease-free state is globally asymptotically stable when the reproduction number is less than unity and unstable if it is greater than unity. By using the central manifold theory, we observe that the endemic equilibrium is locally stable near to unity. It is concluded that minimizing unsafe contact with the infected dead body and/or burial or cremation as fast as possible contributes positively. Further, the numerical simulations for the given choice of data and initial conditions illustrate that the endemic state is stable and the disease persists in the community when the reproduction number is greater than one.

In this paper, a new analytical solution to the undamped Helmholtz oscillator equation in terms of the Weierstrass elliptic function is reported. The solution is given for any arbitrary initial conditions. A comparison between our new solution and the numerical approximate solution using the Range Kutta approach is performed. We think that the methodology employed here may be useful in the study of several nonlinear problems described by a differential equation of the form z ″ = F z in the sense that z = z t . In this context, our solutions are applied to some physical applications such as the signal that can propagate in the LC series circuits. Also, these solutions were used to describe and investigate some oscillations in plasma physics such as oscillations in electronegative plasma with Maxwellian electrons and negative ions.

For using surface electromyography (sEMG) in various applications, the process consists of three parts: an onset time detection for detecting the first point of movement signals, a feature extraction for extracting the signal attribution, and a feature classification for classifying the sEMG signals. The first and the most significant part that influences the accuracy of other parts is the onset time detection, particularly for automatic systems. In this paper, an automatic and simple algorithm for the real-time onset time detection is presented. There are two main processes in the proposed algorithm; a smoothing process for reducing the noise of the measured sEMG signals and an automatic threshold calculation process for determining the onset time. The results from the algorithm analysis demonstrate the performance of the proposed algorithm to detect the sEMG onset time in various smoothing-threshold equations. Our findings reveal that using a simple square integral (SSI) as the smoothing-threshold equation with the given sEMG signals gives the best performance for the onset time detection. Additionally, our proposed algorithm is also implemented on a real hardware platform, namely NI myRIO. Using the real-time simulated sEMG data, the experimental results guarantee that the proposed algorithm can properly detect the onset time in the real-time manner.

Classical operational research (OR) is mainly concerned with the use of mathematical techniques and models used in decision-making situations. The basic assumptions of OR presuppose that the structure of the world is one of order and predictability. Although this positivistic approach produces significant results when levels of certainty and initial conditions are stable, it is limited when faced with an acknowledgement of the complex nature of the real world. This paper aims to highlight that by drawing on a general understanding of complexity theory, classical OR approaches can be enriched and broadened by adopting an epistemology based on the assumption that the underlying mechanisms governing the world are complex. It is argued that complexity theory (as interpreted by the philosopher Paul Cilliers) acknowledges the complex nature of the real world and helps to identify the characteristics of complex phenomena. By aligning OR epistemologies with the acknowledgment of complexity, new modelling methods could be developed. In addition, the implications for knowledge generating processes through boundary setting, as well as the provisional nature of such knowledge and what (ethical) responsibilities accompany the study of complex phenomena, will be discussed. Examples are presented to highlight the epistemological implications of complexity thinking for OR.
