Technology can be considered as the most important factor in changing human experiences. Much of the success of most top companies in the field of competition rests on innovative activities that often rely on technology. On the other hand, defining valid and reliable as well as measurable indicators is necessary in order to make the most accurate decision. This refers to the famous saying that anything that can be measured can be managed. Therefore, using various scientific sources, the present study seeks to identify indicators of appropriate technology selection and then, prioritize them using multi-criteria decision making methods in the National Iranian Petrochemical Company. For this purpose, first important factors have been identified by studying the research literature and utilizing experts’ opinion gathered and aggregated by Delphi method. Then, by these factors have been ranked by screening and final identification through a hybrid approach of TOPSIS and Shannon entropy. According to the obtained results, technology efficiency has the highest priority among the factors which shows that in technology with the highest level of efficiency must be transferred and used in petrochemical industry. The competitive effects of technology have the lowest priority which shows that it is the least impact for technology transfer in this industry, and it need less attention from the industry practitioners

Renewable energies have many advantages and their importance is rising owing to gravely mounting concerns for environmental issues and lack of fossil fuels in the future. Solar energy, well acknowledged as an inexhaustible source of energy, is developing dramatically for different purposes such as desalination and electricity generation. Appropriate solar power plant is very important factor for power generation due to its cost and other constraints. The applied technology is as important as the solar power plants location.  In this paper, a wide variety multi criteria decision making (MCDM) methods, investigated by various researchers, are presented to obtain effective criteria in selecting solar plants sites and solar plants technologies. There is not any comprehensive research providing all required criteria for decision making for site and technology selection. Based on the reviewed researches, weight of each criterion depends on many factors such as region, economy, accessibility, power network, maintenance costs, operating costs, etc. The important criteria for site selection are represented and investigated thoroughly in this review paper.© 2019. This study proposes a novel evaluation model for lawyer selection incorporating the lawyer’s backbone leadership attitude employing the hybrid multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) approach. In the proposed approach, the lawyer’s backbone leadership attitude is employed as an evaluation factor in the evaluation model for lawyer selection from law firms’ perspective. In this paper, a hybrid approach based on the Delphi technique and analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is proposed to manage qualitative and quantitative criteria for selecting the best alternative lawyer for law firms in China. Finally, a law firm in China is carried out to verify the feasibility of the proposed approach. Based on the result, the backbone leadership does provide valuable information in the evaluation model for lawyer selection. The results also revealed that the proposed approach would help law firms and human resource managers to understand and develop strategies to hire a lawyer.

AbstractToday, product success more than ever depends on the satisfaction of consumer needs. Besides, manufacturers need to shorten development cycles and accelerate product release in order to stay competitive. This is achieved by applying customer-oriented methods allowing for fast and reliable acting. During the early phase of product development, requirements acquisition is crucial for later success of products, since specifications are most influenceable at this point. Referring to the decisive concept generation phase, material and production definition is difficult due to the highly complex interrelations between material properties, production process capabilities, and resulting product characteristics. Especially in the context of lightweight design, concurrent material and processing technology selection must be considered due to its various possible interfaces. Thus, this contribution outlines an integrated approach towards an enhanced material and process related, customer-oriented requirements acquisition during the early phase upstream of product detailing. Here, conventional multi-criteria decision-making and tactile recognition are employed in an agile transformation model.

Peat fire is a geological disaster that causes damages to nature, human activities and environment. It is a geological phenomenon that involves a wide range of forest fire, vegetation burnt surface and smouldering fire underground. Besides that, there are other contributing factors affecting the peat fire and can lead to the forest fire disaster. In this study, GIS and MCDM Technique were used as a tool to generate the prediction of peat fire potential area map at Kuala Langat, Selangor. All the input is then being analyse in ArcGIS software. Many criteria may contribute to the peat forest fire incident such as land use, temperature, pH value, and soil type criteria. The main benefit for analysing the potential area is the possibility to prevent and predict peat fire occurrences in future other than as a precaution step to face the problems.
