The research aims to analyze the effect of metering stroke on product quality. Metering strokes relate to product weight and mold capacity. The material used is Polyamide (Nylon) 66, using an ENGEL 50ton capacity Injection Molding machine.  The research method used is an experimental method before mass pre-production with stroke metering variation as a production parameter. A normality test was used to investigate the experimental data. Shapiro-Wilk's formula on Minitab® software was used to process the data. Product defects caused by an improper metering stroke often in the injection process are short mold and flashing prints. The results show that short mold production defects occur when the metering stroke is 60 mm due to the material does not fill the full cavity. Furthermore, flashing occurs when the metering stroke is 70 mm due to out of cavity capacity. Therefore, the appropriate parameter is a 65 mm metering stroke with good quality part results.

In this article a GHG and energy analysis for the plastic injection process of an ABS medium sized injected part carried out in a hybrid injection molding machine is reported. A power consumption process pattern for an ABS medium-size part is defined as well as the energy usage of components, the energy used for the injection process is calculated for the injection cycle and for the process setup. The reported study includes a hybrid machine analysis working under an electric network that relies mainly on thermoelectric energy generation. The GHG emissions assessment was estimated using the 2015 emission factor applied for Mexico. The results provide new experimental data for ABS plastic injected parts in hybrid injection machines. This paper describes the outcomes of a GHG emissions and energy assessment for an ABS medium-sized injected part carried out in a HIMM at UNAM. The approach followed by the authors in this assessment was aimed at providing information about the energy usage and GHG emissions for the process and the part. The main contribution of this paper is the insight related to energy usage indicators in the process, the energy usage and the GHG emissions within components. The product used as a case study and the results of its GHG emissions and energy assessment are presented.

The culinary industry is an industry that is always developing. One area of business that is currently starting to develop is bakery products The purpose of this research is (1) To know the effect of product quality toward brand image of Bread Talk as bakery shop that use open kitchen concept. The method used in this study is a quantitative research method. Populations and samples (questionnaires) in this study were 85 valid questionnaires. Data analysis was performed by testing the validity, reliability, normality test, correlation coefficient test, determination test, linear regression and T test. The results of this study indicate that the product quality variable and brand image variable have a strong relationship with a correlation value of 0.777 and the product quality variable has a significant effect on the brand image variable with t count of the product quality is 11.237 with a significant value of product quality is 0.000. The calculation results of the product quality variable influece on the brand iamge variable is 60.3% and the remaining 39.7% is influenced by other variables outside of the study. Thus, BreadTalk should be able to continue to maintain and improve the quality of its products in order to maintain the achievements of its brand image Keywords: Product Quality, Brand Image, Branding

The micro injection molding machine (MIMM) is used to produce precision plastic products. The non-return valve (NRV) on the screw head of injection machine plays the role of preventing the melt back discharge during injection process. The sensitivity of non-return valves opening and closing affects the quality of the product. In this paper, numerical simulation of three-dimensional flow field is generalized by the Newtonian isothermal fluid method. Then, five kinds of different structural parameters of NRV are designed, and the pressure field, the pressure difference is simulated by the Polyflow software. At last, the pressure field, and the pressure difference on both side of NRV are analyzed and compared. The best structure parameter of NRV is decided. The simulation results are useful for the NRV design.

This paper proposes a turbo injection mode (TIM) for an axial flux motor to apply onto injection molding machine. Since the injection molding machine requires different speed and force parameters setting when finishing a complete injection process. The interleaved winding structure in the motor provides two different injection levels to provide enough injection forces. Two wye-wye windings are designed to switch two control modes conveniently. Wye-wye configuration is used to switch two force levels for the motor. When only one set of wye-winding is energized, field weakening function is achieved. Both of the torque and speed increase under field weakening operation. To achieve two control objectives for torque and speed of the motor, fuzzy based multiple performance characteristics index (MPCI) with particle swarm optimization (PSO) is used to find out the multiobjective optimal design solution. Both of the torque and speed are expected to be maximal at the same time. Three control factors are selected as studied factors: winding diameter, winding type, and air-gap. Experimental results show that both of the torque and speed increase under the optimal condition. This will provide enough large torque and speed to perform the turbo injection mode in injection process for the injection molding machine.

This paper describes the improvement of flow length and realization of low-energy molding in the injection molding process, by focusing on the injection mold with permeability fabricated by additive manufacturing. The mold is equipped with a sintered body with permeability, which is used as a mold insert. The inside of the sintered mold insert is structured so that the permeability should not be degraded, even if the thickness is increased. With respect to the effect of the sintered mold insert with permeability, the flow length and low-energy molding are evaluated by the filling rate of a thin section of moldings, and the electric energy of the injection molding machine that drives the screw in the injection process. Through fundamental experiments, the mold using the sintered mold insert with permeability was found to improve the flow length. The electric energy of the injection molding machine in the injection process is reduced by 6%--13% compared with the sintered mold insert without permeability.

Background: One of the most common manufacturing equipment for polymer product is injection molding machine. In order to ensure the precise, stable and continuous operation of the injection molding machine, the maintenance of the lubrication system must be done well. The stability, reliability, rationality and low noise performance of the lubrication system of injection molding machine directly affect the quality of injection products, dimensional accuracy, molding cycle, working environment and maintenance. Objective: The purpose of this study is to introduce the methods of choice, maintenance of lubricating oil for injection molding machine from many literatures and patents in the recent years, such as lubricating oil device, lubricating composite and structure. Methods: An example of the 260M5 automatic injection molding machine is introduced for the inspection and maintenance of the lubrication system including lubricating oil and lubricating grease. Results: To ensure the lubrication of the injection molding machine, it needs to strictly observe the lubrication time and modulus of the injection molding machine. It needs to strictly control the temperature rise of the lubricating oil and select the correct lubricating oil and grease to ensure the lubrication quality. Conclusion: In the operation of the injection molding machine, it is necessary to check that the lubricating oil is sufficient and the lubricating points are working properly. It ensures sufficient lubrication of the injection molding machine and strictly observes the lubrication time and modulus of the injection molding machine. The stored lubricating oil should be sealed well to prevent air pollution.

The paper describes the theory of developing the heat-resistance criterion for disposable ceramic molds exposed to poured metal, creating a computational and experimental method for computing the heat resistance by rapidly heating the mold by an electric arc, as well as analysis of comparative data on quartz, dinas, and electric-corundum molds from the standpoint of the developed criterial-evaluation theory. In this case, the heat resistance is of one-time character, as this mold sustains only a single casting. Computational and experimental data indicate a low heat resistance of β-quartz, making them non-recommendable for annealing and metal pouring if there is not supporting filler. Molds based on electric-corundum or dinas fillers are free of such drawbacks, with the latter being considerably cheaper. The use of tridymited dinas powders is effective after grinding the spent dinas lining of electric furnaces.
