The COVID-19 pandemic is a non-natural disaster that has a huge impact around the world. This research is a quantitative research with event study method. The purpose of this research is to test the capital market reaction by looking at abnormal returns and trading volume activity before and after the COVID-19 non-natural disaster. The event day in this study was April 13rd, 2020 when the Presidential Decree was issued regarding the designation of COVID-19 as a national disaster. Using purposive sampling method, the sample of this study were 27 companies engaged in the hotel, restaurant, and tourism sub-sectors listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The event period is 11 days, namely 5 days before the event, 1 day at the time of the event and 5 days after the event. Data analysis using t-test and wilxocon signed ranks test. The results of this study are: 1) there is no abnormal return during the event period, 2) there is no difference in the average abnormal return before and after the COVID-19 non-natural disaster event, 3) there is no difference in the average trading volume activity before and after the COVID-19 non-natural disaster event and after the COVID-19 non-natural disaster event. This study aims to analyze the reaction of the capital market to the increase in cigarette excise in Indonesia. This study focuses on cigarette companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange as an increase in excise tax has an impact on the cigarette industry. There are 4 companies that are included in the cigarette industry which are the samples of this study. This study uses an event study to examine the effect of Abnormal Return, Trading Volume Activity and Bid-Ask Spread before and after the increase in excise tax. The findings of this study are that there is no difference in abnormal returns both before and after the announcement of the policy on the increase in cigarette excise in 2020. Other findings indicate that there is no difference in trading volume activity both before and after the announcement of the policy for the increase in cigarette excise in 2020. Other findings indicate that there is no difference in bids. ask spread both before and after the announcement of the 2020 cigarette excise tax increase. The purpose of this study is to determine the market reaction to the announcement of cash dividends, by looking at differences in abnormal return and trading volume activity before and after the cash dividend announcement. Dividend announcement is an event that affects the market, because the company provides information to the public. Information provided by the company will influence investors' decision making and will act on that information. The sample of this study amounted to 33 of the 100 companies incorporated in the Kompas 100 index on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The data collection method uses non-participant observation, which is document observation. The analysis technique used is Paired-Sample T Test and Wilcoxon-Signed Rank Test. The results showed that there were no differences in abnormal returns and trading volume activity before and after the distribution of cash dividends. As one of an instrument of economy, capital market can not be separated from influence that amend in its environment, either occur in macro economic, micro economic or non-economic environment. This research is one of the event study which examined in how the reaction of Indonesian capital market toward event that occur in an non-economic environment which is tsunami natural disaster in Aceh, December 26th, 2004.The purpose of this research is to examine stock prices reaction and trading volume activities in Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX) toward tsunami natural disaster event in Aceh, also to examine whether there are any differences in average abnormal return and average trading volume activity before and after tsunami natural disaster event in Aceh. The samples are generated from stocks that have the biggest market capitalization in JSX which are often listed in LQ45 in period August, 2003 until January, 2008.The result of test using SPSS with 95% confidence level shows that JSX was not responded toward tsunami natural disaster event in Aceh. This is shown by no abnormal return during event period, no difference of average abnormal return before and after event, and no difference of average trading volume activity before and after tsunami natural disaster event in Aceh.

This study aims to examine the information content by looking at the market reaction to the publication of unqualified opinion with the paragraph emphasizing a matter as measured by abnormal returns and trading volume activity. This research is an event study with an observation period of 7 stock exchange days. The population in this study were manufacturing companies listed on the IDX in 2016-2018, totaling 177 companies. The sampling method used non-probability sampling with purposive sampling technique, in order to obtain a sample of 23 companies with 33 audited financial reports. The data analysis technique used paired samplesxt-test. The results of this study indicate that there is no difference in average abnormal return and average trading volume activity before and after the publication of unqualified opinion with an emphasis on a paragraph. This indicates that the publication of an unqualified opinion with an emphasis on a subject paragraph does not cause a market reaction because there is no information content on the event.  Keywords: Event Study; Abnormal Return; Trading Volume Activity.

Stock splits or stock split is to break a piece of stock into n shares so that the new price per share after the stock split is 1 / n of the previous price.This study aims to investigate the market reaction to the announcement of the stock split the company listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange Period 2012-2013. The market reaction is indicated by the presence or absence of abnormal return differences, trading volume activity, and bid-ask spreads before and after the stock split announcement.Type of research is a study of events (event study).The study sample as many as 17 companies based on purposive sampling.Testing is done with a period of 5 days before and 5 after the announcement of the stock split.The technique of data analysis performed using paired sample t-test on abnormal returns while Wilcoxon signed ranks test on trading volume activity and bid-ask spreads.

Objective - The aim of this research is to analyse the difference of abnormal returns, shares liquidity proxies by trading volume activity and a company financial performance proxies by current ratio and price earnings ratio before and after the rights issue. Methodology/Technique - Samples were taken by purposive sampling. Number of samples are 26 companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange that take the right issue for the year 2006 -2012. Testing of the hypothesis was done by using paired sample t-test for normally distributed data and Wilcoxon signed rank test for data that are not normally distributed. Findings - The results of this study showed that there is a significant difference in share liquidity proxies by trading volume activity before and after the announcement of the rights issue. After the right issue there are decreasing the number of trading volume activity because shareholders prefer to maintain their proportion of the share capital. Novelty - The increasing number of companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange showed that there is positive growth of capital market in Indonesia. To be sustain in the market, companies need to improve their competitive advantage by optimizing resource utilization such as financial resources. This study applied an event study approach  (event study).  The event tested the announcement of Sukuk emissions and market reactions as indicated by the existence of a significant Abnormal Return on the date of Sukuk emissions and it changed within the activity of Stock Trader of the Corporation Sukuk Issuer. Observation period between 2009-2018, there was 129 Sukuk emissions in Indonesia Stock Exchange. The number of samples taken was 26 emissions of Sukuk which make emissions from 12 issuers that met the set criteria. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis, independent t-test, t-paired test, and regression analysis.  Furthermore, the data were processed using IBM SPSS for Windows Software. The results showed that there was a difference in Average Abnormal Return (AAR) before and after the announcement of Sukuk emissions. However, the average value of the difference was not statistically significant. There was a positive market reaction on Average Abnormal Return (AAR) before the announcement of Sukuk emissions. There was a positive market reaction on Average Abnormal Return (AAR) after the announcement of Sukuk emissions. There were differences in the Average Trading Volume Activity (ATVA) before and after the announcement of Sukuk emissions. However, the average value of the difference was not statistically significant. There was a significant market reaction on Average Trading Volume Activity (ATVA) before the announcement of Sukuk emissions. There was a significant market reaction of Average Trading Volume Activity (ATVA) after the announcement of Sukuk emissions. Furthermore, this study also found that Sukuk to Equity Ratio (SER) had a positive effect, but not significantly on the level of  Return on Assets (ROA), Return on Equity (ROE), and Earning per Share (EPS), but it was not significant. These insignificant effects of  SER  on the issuer's  ROA,  ROE  and  EPS were caused by the relatively small proportion of Sukuk value compared to the value of assets and company equity.

This study aims to analyze the differences in trading volume activity, bid-ask spread, and abnormal returns before and after the announcement of a stock split in companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from January 2015 to October 2018. A sample of 39 companies announced a stock split during the period are selected based on certain criteria. The Wilcoxon Signed Rank test is used to analyze the differences in trading volume activity, bid-ask spread, and abnormal returns, five days before and after the announcement. The use of nonparametric statistical analysis was carried out because the data were not normally distributed. The results show that there is no difference in trading volume activity around the announcement of the stock split. On the other hand, the bid-ask spread and abnormal return are statistically different around the announcement of the stock split.

This research is conducted on all acquisition companies that conduct acquisitions listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange 2011-2016 period. Sampling method using purposive sampling. The number of samples of this research is 50 companies. The market reaction in this study used abnormal return and trading volume activity. The testing of information content will be done by looking at differences in cumulative abnormal return and the average trading volume of shares five days before and five days after the announcement of the acquisition. Data analysis technique used is paired sample t-test. Based on the test results, found there are significant differences in the abnormal return of the acquirer company before and after the announcement of the acquisition. This study intends to examine the differences in market reaction around the announcement of the Annual Report Award which is not only measured by abnormal return but is also measured using trading volume activity and stock prices. The data used are quantitative data in the form of a list of companies that received the Annual Report Award for the 2015-2018 period, the daily closing price of the ARA-winning company in the event window, the composite stock price index, the number of shares traded, and the number of shares outstanding. The event window is selected for 11 days because the long window period will blend with the effects of other events or confounding effects. The results of the study concluded that the market reacted around the announcement of the Annual Report Award for the 2015-2018 period measured using abnormal returns, trading volume activity, and stock prices. There is no difference in abnormal returns before and after the announcement of the 2013-2016 Annual Report Award period. Instead there are differences in trading volume activity and stock prices before and after the announcement of the Annual Report Award for the 2015-2018 period.
