This study aims to analyze the differences in trading volume activity, bid-ask spread, and abnormal returns before and after the announcement of a stock split in companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from January 2015 to October 2018. A sample of 39 companies announced a stock split during the period are selected based on certain criteria. The Wilcoxon Signed Rank test is used to analyze the differences in trading volume activity, bid-ask spread, and abnormal returns, five days before and after the announcement. The use of nonparametric statistical analysis was carried out because the data were not normally distributed. The results show that there is no difference in trading volume activity around the announcement of the stock split. On the other hand, the bid-ask spread and abnormal return are statistically different around the announcement of the stock split.

This study aims to determine the difference in the trading volume activity, stock prices and abnormal returns before and after the announcement of a stock split. The population of this study are all companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange that take corporate action in the form of stock split at period 2017-2018. Sampling using purposive sampling. Based on the sampling criteria predetermined number of samples acquired 24 stocks. The analytical method used is the analysis Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with the observation period (event window) is 14 days. The results showed that there were differences in the trading volume activity and stock prices before and after the announcement of stock split, while the last hypothesis showed that there were no differences in abnormal returns before and after the announcement of stock split.

Stock splits or stock split is to break a piece of stock into n shares so that the new price per share after the stock split is 1 / n of the previous price.This study aims to investigate the market reaction to the announcement of the stock split the company listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange Period 2012-2013. The market reaction is indicated by the presence or absence of abnormal return differences, trading volume activity, and bid-ask spreads before and after the stock split announcement.Type of research is a study of events (event study).The study sample as many as 17 companies based on purposive sampling.Testing is done with a period of 5 days before and 5 after the announcement of the stock split.The technique of data analysis performed using paired sample t-test on abnormal returns while Wilcoxon signed ranks test on trading volume activity and bid-ask spreads.

The purpose of this study is to determine the market reaction to the announcement of cash dividends, by looking at differences in abnormal return and trading volume activity before and after the cash dividend announcement. Dividend announcement is an event that affects the market, because the company provides information to the public. Information provided by the company will influence investors' decision making and will act on that information. The sample of this study amounted to 33 of the 100 companies incorporated in the Kompas 100 index on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The data collection method uses non-participant observation, which is document observation. The analysis technique used is Paired-Sample T Test and Wilcoxon-Signed Rank Test. The results showed that there were no differences in abnormal returns and trading volume activity before and after the distribution of cash dividends. This study aims to determine the difference in abnormal return, trading volume activity, and security return variability before and after the stock split announcement on companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2013 - 2015. Testing the information content will be done by looking at differences in average abnormal return, average security return variability and average trading volume activity five days before and five days after the announcement of the stock split. The data analysis method that will be used is descriptive statistical analysis and different tests before and after the stock split announcement using the Wilcoxon signed rank test. The results of this study indicate that there are significant abnormal return differences before and after the stock split announcement, there is no significant difference in trading volume activity before and after the stock split announcement, and there is no significant difference in security return variability before and after the stock split announcement.

This study aims to analyze the reaction of the capital market to the increase in cigarette excise in Indonesia. This study focuses on cigarette companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange as an increase in excise tax has an impact on the cigarette industry. There are 4 companies that are included in the cigarette industry which are the samples of this study. This study uses an event study to examine the effect of Abnormal Return, Trading Volume Activity and Bid-Ask Spread before and after the increase in excise tax. The findings of this study are that there is no difference in abnormal returns both before and after the announcement of the policy on the increase in cigarette excise in 2020. Other findings indicate that there is no difference in trading volume activity both before and after the announcement of the policy for the increase in cigarette excise in 2020. Other findings indicate that there is no difference in bids. ask spread both before and after the announcement of the 2020 cigarette excise tax increase. The purpose of this study was to test the market reaction to the announcement of the Sri Kehati Index on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The population in this study is all companies included in the Sri Kehati Index from 2013 to 2016. The selection of samples was taken by the population sampling method. Hypothesis testing is done by paired t test and Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The findings of this research are: 1) there is no difference in abnormal returns before and after the announcement of the Sri Kehati Index on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. 2) There is a difference in the activity of stock trading volume before and after the announcement of the Sri Kehati index in the 5th and 6th periods, but there is no difference in the activity of stock trading volume in other periods. The Indonesia Stock Exchange did not react consistently to the announcement of the Sri Kehati Index.

This study aims to analyze reaction of the Indonesian capital market about difference of average abnormal returns, trading volume activity, and security return variability between before and after the legalization of the Job Creation Act on October 5, 2020. This study used quantitative research with event study approach. The research sample is stocks registered in LQ45 with certain criteria determined used the purposing sampling method. Hypothesis testing used paired sample t-test and wilcoxon signed rank test. The results of the hypothesis testing show that: (1) There’s a significant difference in the average abnormal return between the period before and after the Job Creation Act legalization. (2) There’s no significant difference in the average trading volume activity between the periodsbefore and after the Job Creation Act legalization. The January Effect is one of the seasonal anomalies, which reveals that stock returns in January tend to be higher than in months other than January. This study aimed to examine and analyze the existence of the January effect using abnormal return and trading volume activity (TVA) variables. The presence of the January Effect was researched on companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) and continues to be included in the Investor33 Index during 2017-2019. The samples studied were 25 companies. It was selected using purposive sampling method. The results of the normality test showed that the data was not normally distributed. Thus, only the non-parametric test, namely the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, can be used as a data analysis technique. Based on the analysis conducted, it was found that there was a significant difference in abnormal returns and no significant difference in TVA in January and other than January. Therefore, it can be concluded that statistically, the January Effect occurred in Indonesia during the test period indicated by abnormal returns. Keywords: January Effect; Abnormal Return; TVA.

This study aimed to analyze the differences of abnormal return, liquidity and risk stock before and after the stock split on companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange 2010 - 2014. The sample are 29 companies selected by purposive sampling. Period of observations used in this study is 5 days before the stock split and 5 days after the stock split. The analysis technique used is the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test for normality test, paired sample t-test for normally distributed data and Wilcoxon signed rank test if distribution data is not normal. Results from the study showed that there is no significant difference in abnormal returns between before and after stock split period, there are differences in liquidity between the before and after stock split period and there is no difference in stock risk between before and after the stock split period.   Keywords : Stock Split, Abnormal Return, Liquidity, Stock Risk

The COVID-19 pandemic is a non-natural disaster that has a huge impact around the world. This research is a quantitative research with event study method. The purpose of this research is to test the capital market reaction by looking at abnormal returns and trading volume activity before and after the COVID-19 non-natural disaster. The event day in this study was April 13rd, 2020 when the Presidential Decree was issued regarding the designation of COVID-19 as a national disaster. Using purposive sampling method, the sample of this study were 27 companies engaged in the hotel, restaurant, and tourism sub-sectors listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The event period is 11 days, namely 5 days before the event, 1 day at the time of the event and 5 days after the event. Data analysis using t-test and wilxocon signed ranks test. The results of this study are: 1) there is no abnormal return during the event period, 2) there is no difference in the average abnormal return before and after the COVID-19 non-natural disaster event, 3) there is no difference in the average trading volume activity before and after the COVID-19 non-natural disaster event and after the COVID-19 non-natural disaster event.
