The academic information system that focuses on the attendance module is a continuation of the manual attendance that imposes the use of attendance papers that are paraphrased by students. Attendance modules at Universal University can be designed utilizing Internet technology and network, where students only use smartphones to scan Quick-Response Code (QR Code) and web-based applications for lecturers to verify attendance. The attendance module is designed using real-time data processing. The software process Model used is the waterfall model and assisted with analysis using Unified Modelling Language (UML). The design of the application uses the PHP programming language for Web applications and Java for mobile applications, as well as databases using MySQL. The result of the design of the build attendance module in the form of a mobile application for use by students who can scan QR Code as attendance, and a Web application to be used by the lecturer as an attendance verification that has scanned QR Code and students who are not present. Registration and list of attendees are an important factor to be done in formal and informal activities. The purpose is to know the attendees’ personal data and presence. Registration and presence using the manual method such as form filling in a piece of paper produce problem, among them is over excess of paper and time consuming presence activity. Therefore, a new efficient and effective system that take advantage of Android Smartphone and Quick Response Code (QR Code) as Smart Attendance System is needed. The use of Android and QR Code technology simplify registration and presence process so that the proses would be much faster and efficient. The design of QR Code presence application based on Android is using System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Waterfall model and designed using Use Case Diagram and Entity Relationship Diagram. The presence application is made using combination of two platform, that is Android and web. On the Android Smartphone there are scanner and administrator profile. Whilst at the web platform contain participant, event, and admin database. The existence of the design and Smart Attendance system implementation, registration and list of attendees process will be faster, efficient, and used as on of the smart system to support the smart city is expected.

Web applications are needed as a solution to the use of internet technology that can be accessed globally, capable of displaying information that is rich in content, cost effective, easy to use and can also be accessed by anyone, anytime and anywhere. In the second quarter of 2020, Wearesocial released information related to internet users in the world around 4.54 billion with 59% penetration. People become very dependent on the internet and also technology. This condition was also triggered due to the Covid-19 pandemic. One thing that becomes an issue on website application security is internet attacks on website platforms and we never expected the vulnerability. One type of attack or security threat that often arises and often occurs is Cross Site Scripting (XSS). XSS is one of Top 10 Open Web Application Security Projects (OWASP) lists. There are several alternatives that we can use to prevent cyber-attack. OWASP Security Shepherd can be used as a way to prevent XSS attacks. The OWASP Security Shepherd project allows users to learn or develop their manual penetration testing skills. In this research, there are several case examples or challenges that we can use as a simulation of the role of OWASP Security Shepherd to detect this XSS. The purpose of this paper is to conduct a brief and clear review of technology on OWASP Security Shepherd. This technology was chosen as an appropriate and inexpensive alternative for users to ward off XSS attacks.

In this chapter, the development and evolution of Web Applications is viewed from an engineering perspective that relies on and accommodates the knowledge inherent in patterns. It proposes an approach in the direction of building a foundation for pattern-oriented Web Engineering. For that, a methodology for pattern-oriented Web Engineering, namely POWEM, is described. The steps of POWEM include selection of a suitable development process model, construction of a semiotic quality model, namely PoQ, and selection and mapping of suitable patterns to quality attributes in PoQ. To support decision making and to place POWEM in context, the feasibility issues involved in each step are discussed. For the sake of is illustration, the use of patterns during the design phase of a Web Application are highlighted. Finally, some directions for future research, including those for Web Engineering education and Social Web Applications, are given.

This research aims to create a student presence system using the QR Code (Quick Response Code) with AES encryption, when the learning process will begin, lecturers display QR Code for further scans by students through their smartphones that have been installed academic information system, data presences will be automatically stored in the database, the data can be known directly by lecturers and students. Data security uses AES encryption methods and in order to ensure that students are actually present then this research also implements Geolocation, if Geolocation on the student's smartphone is not the same as that in the presences system then the student is not able to perform the presences. From the results of the research, the system can run well, with the existence of this system can simplify the process of presences and increase efficiency because no more presences printed on paper.

Abstract—This paper discusses an Accounting Information System (AIS) that is developed in-house by the German Jordanian University (GJU). The AIS is a web-based distributed application that is comprised of three separate tiers: the client, web (application), and business (data) tiers. The three tiers are designed and developed such that the system is easy to use, effective, fast, accurate, reliable, and scalable. The AIS mainly enables accountants to manage (i.e., record, view, edit, and delete) the daily financial transactions such as payments, refunds, and adjustments. Furthermore, it allows managing fees (e.g., services and tuition fees) and student data (e.g., academic information, schedules, transcripts, holds, registration invoices, and statement of account). Moreover, it allows specifying sponsors and supports the definition of complex scholarship tuition fees coverage combinations related to the GJU as well as most of the Jordanian universities. Besides that, it enables the quick generation of financial statements and accounting reports (e.g., daily summary, daily journal, and student balances) at the click of a button. The generated reports can be used by the staff and management of the financial department for auditing, financial accounting, and decision making purposes. The system was successfully deployed in the first 2015/2016 academic semester and since then it accurately recorded and processed thousands of accounting transactions.   Index Terms: software engineering, student information system, web applications, accounting, scholarships, tuition fees.

With the mounting demand of web applications, a number of issues allied to its quality have came in existence. In the meadow of web applications, it is very thorny to develop high quality web applications. A design pattern is a general repeatable solution to a generally stirring problem in software design. It should be noted that design pattern is not a finished product that can be directly transformed into source code. Rather design pattern is a depiction or template that describes how to find solution of a problem that can be used in many different situations. Past research has shown that design patterns greatly improved the execution speed of a software application. Design pattern are classified as creational design patterns, structural design pattern, behavioral design pattern, etc. MVC design pattern is very productive for architecting interactive software systems and web applications. This design pattern is partition-independent, because it is expressed in terms of an interactive application running in a single address space. We will design and analyze an algorithm by using MVC approach to improve the performance of web based application. The objective of our study will be to reduce one of the major object oriented features i.e. coupling between model and view segments of web based application. The implementation for the same will be done in by using .NET framework.

It is shown that the application of the Internet technologies is relevant in the selection of crop production technologies and the formation of a rational composition of the machine-and-tractor fl eet taking into account the conditions and production resources of a particular agricultural enterprise. The work gives a short description of the web applications, namely “ExactFarming”, “Agrivi” and “AgCommand” that provide a possibility to select technologies and technical means of soil treatment, and their functions. “ExactFarming” allows to collect and store information about temperature, precipitation and weather forecast in certain areas, keep records of information about crops and make technological maps using expert templates. “Agrivi” allows to store and provide access to weather information in the fi elds with certain crops. It has algorithms to detect and make warnings about risks related to diseases and pests, as well as provides economic calculations of crop profi tability and crop planning. “AgCommand” allows to track the position of machinery and equipment in the fi elds and provides data on the weather situation in order to plan the use of agricultural machinery in the fi elds. The web applications presented hereabove do not show relation between the technologies applied and agro-climatic features of the farm location zone. They do not take into account the phytosanitary conditions in the previous years, or the relief and contour of the fi elds while drawing up technological maps or selecting the machine-and-tractor fl eet. Siberian Physical-Technical Institute of Agrarian Problems of Siberian Federal Scientifi c Center of AgroBioTechnologies of the Russian Academy of Sciences developed a software complex PIKAT for supporting machine agrotechnologies for production of spring wheat grain at an agricultural enterprise, on the basis of which there is a plan to develop a web application that will consider all the main factors limiting the yield of cultivated crops.
