The article analyzes the problems caused by the adoption of the Historical and Cultural Standard and the emergence of electronic versions of history textbooks, which raised the question of the effectiveness of the use of educational complexes of the 1C company at history lessons. In order to answer this question, the article discusses the materials of the theme “The Patriotic War of 1812”. Based on the results of the comparative analysis, it is concluded that the electronic applications of history textbooks can significantly complement, but not replace, the 1C educational complexes. However, this does not mean that these complexes do not need changes. The article outlines the main directions for improving the 1C educational complexes: to develop the content of the manuals in accordance with the Historical and Cultural Standard, to form a complete set of training materials (documents, dictionary articles, illustrations, interactive schemes, animated maps and presentations) for each period, providing their competent methodological support. It is important to create a full line of educational complexes covering all periods of domestic and foreign history. Particular attention is paid to the relevance of the use of the 1C educational complexes in blended learning.

This paper explores and compares, at both micro and macro levels, the leadership skills of effective and ineffective managers in a health care setting. In addition, it compares the leadership skills of physician and non-physician health care administrators at both levels. The results indicate that effective managers have significantly different leadership skill profiles than ineffective managers. Furthermore, effective managers have a more complete set of skills and are not as likely to rely on one type of skills as the ineffective managers. In addition, no substantial evidence was found to support prior assertions that physician administrators would be deficient in leadership skills.

This article presents a comparative analysis of pupils’ activities dealing with the Cold War in Swedish and Australian history textbooks. By focusing on textbook activities to which pupils respond in relation to their learning of a particular topic, this study identifies knowledge types included in a selection of history textbooks. The study also focuses on the question whether, and if so how, social values are evident in activities concerning the Cold War. The authors develop a matrix that makes it possible to examine knowledge types and social values conveyed by activities. By analyzing textbook activities, this article exposes the hidden curriculum present in the textbooks on the basis of underlying and unstated values present in the activities, and at the same time identifies the way in which the selected textbooks incorporate these values.

This study is a comparative analysis of the impact of traditional face-to-face training contrasted with a blended learning approach, as it relates to improving skills, knowledge and attitudes for enhancing practices for achieving improved employment outcomes for individuals with disabilities. The study included two intervention groups: one participated exclusively in a half-day traditional face-to-face training program entitled Disability is Diversity; the other participated in both the traditional program and also accessed a series of additional online tutorials to reinforce knowledge translation. The pre-/post-analysis of participants indicated a statistically significant increase in knowledge and intentions of improving employment outcomes for people with disabilities across both groups. A six-month post-training follow-up provided important details about the continued impact of training on improving employment for individuals with disabilities. Specifically, participants who participated in the blended learning model were more likely to advocate the use of leading practices compared to those who attended only the traditional program. Thus, use of a blended learning model appears to increase capacity building of practicing professionals as they approach employment issues for people with disabilities as an issue of diversity, leading toward improved employment outcomes.

The author analyzes the image of the “Foreign” in the Russian culture of the first quarter of the XIX century on the example of the French. The factors which influence the transformation of the image of “Foreign” are noted: political situation, official ide-ology, historical memory. Researchers have de-scribed the situation of the XIX century as a cultural pendulum. The direction vectors of this pendulum changed from gallomania to gallophobia and in the opposite direction. They also combined political and everyday forms and were differentially perceived in noble and folk culture. These factors formed the complexity and inconsistency of Russian cultural space. The theses of B. Waldenfels about the para-doxical nature of “Foreign” about the research peri-od and the perspective were used. The paradoxes of “Foreign” were revealed on the examples of the Russian noble culture, a comparative analysis with folk culture was carried out. The author took into account the methodology proposed by B. Walden-fels, using the sources of personal origin and fic-tion.
