Concept mapping is a popular tool for knowledge structure assessment. In recent years, both the amount of research about concept maps and their measurement ability have grown. It has been shown that concept maps with different types of tasks, for instance, links between concepts given or selected by a respondent, provide information about the different aspects of students’ knowledge structure. This study explores features of concept mapping with and without a list of concepts. At first, eleven masters students constructed concept maps with a topic on statistical data analysis and, after three weeks, repeated the task with the same topic and a predefined list of concepts. Both types of concept maps were evaluated using traditional scoring indicators and indicators from the network analysis. All indicators were tested for significant differences, and then the content of these maps was analysed. Results show that the list of concepts forced respondents to construct more connective maps, which is related to a more developed knowledge structure. Moreover, it is easier for them, when including even abstract concepts, to define their role in the domain. However, respondents use concepts and group them in different ways depending on the instruction. It seems that respondents feel a “list stress”, which leads to differences in the content. These findings demonstrate the possibilities of using different concept mapping tasks for learning and assessment.

Two Populations

The purpose of this study was to determine the type, dimensions and composition of nematocytes in Scleractinia, Acropora florida and Acropora divaricata. This research was conducted in South Motandoi Beach, East Pinolosian District, South Bolaang Mongondow Regency, North Sulawesi for five (5) months; from February to June 2019. The method of this research was observation using student-t statistical data analysis. Microbasic p-Mastigophore type-II (MpM-II) and Holotricous isorhiza (HI), while A. divaricata only has type-II Microbasic p-Mastigophore (MpM-II) nematocytes. The nematocytes dimension showed an average capsule length of MpM II in A. florida of was 262.32 µm and A. divaricata was 125.15 µm, mean capsule width of MPM II in A. florida was 67.01 µm and A. divaricata was 31.95 µm, and the average length of mpM II on A. florida was 154.44 µm, and A. divaricata was 70.97 µm. Nematocytes composition showed that MPM II in A. florida was 95.56% and HI was 4.44%, while the composition of MPM II nematocytes in A. divaricata was 100% and HI was 0%. Student t-test showed that the ratio of 2 average values of capsule length, capsule width, and MPM II stem length from two populations of A. florida and A. divaricata were not significantly different (P> 0.05). It can be concluded that both types of A. florida and A. divaricata corals have different types and composition of nematocytes however their size dimensions are not significantly different. Further studies are important to examine genetic and environmental factors to find out how much the kinship relationship between the two types of those coral.Keywords: Acropora florida, Acropora divaricata, HI, Scleractinia coral, MpM II, nematocytes

Cooperative Banks

Urgency of the research. One of the most essential sources of supporting regional and local development is the banking system. Target setting. The study presented describes cooperative banking, represented by Bank Polskiej Spółdzielczości S.A. and Bank Spółdzielczy w Kielcach. The use of the statistical data analysis method allowed to demonstrate the strong position of cooperative banking in the market, fostering regional and local development. Actual scientific researches and issues analysis. The foundations for the modern cooperative banking sector were laid by cooperative financial organisations functioning more than 150 years ago [Pawlik, 2017, s. 152]. Its history is connected with difficulties faced in the period of partitions, work at the foundations after the end of World War I and Poland’s regaining its national independence. Uninvestigated parts of general matters defining. At present, cooperative banking functions as a result of the adoption by the Sejm of the Republic of Poland on 7 December 2000 of the act on the functioning of cooperative banks, their associations and associating banks, which ensured new legal conditions for the functioning of the sector2. The research objective. The article formulates the hypothesis that nowadays activities of cooperative banks will contribute to regional and local development. The statement of basic materials. One of the most essential sources of supporting regional and local development is the banking system. This system can guarantee the stabilisation of the local financial system. By supporting the development of regional and local entrepreneurship through loans, investment activities of the banks and financial and investment consulting, it will determine the identity of the region concerned. Conclusions. The use of the statistical data analysis method allowed to demonstrate the strong position of cooperative banking in the market, fostering regional and local development.
