This article aims to explore the conversion of Minahasa and Christianity religion through mutually constructed efforts carried out by the community of ritual practitioners in Watu Pinawetengan. This research focuses on the mutual change between Minahasa religion and Christianity in rituals through the construction of a symbolic encounter by the ritual-playing community at Watu Pinawetengan. For ritual practitioners, Watu Pinawetengan is a sacred place Tou Minahasa (Minahasa man) that is located in North Sulawesi Province, Minahasa Regency. Individuals in a community construct the meaning of each symbol, thus creating a paradigm of religion. Sacred symbols refer to the essence of a belief in religion, so it is crucial in describing the existence of a religion. The data is taken through the use of qualitative methods by conducting observations, interviews, library studies, and documentary studies. The findings of this study show that changes in sacred symbols in rituals have been constructed in Minahasa and Christian discourses, resulting in a mutual change in both religions. Change occurs dialectically and is strengthened by the legitimacy of the ancestral spirit.AbstrakArtikel ini bertujuan untuk menggali perubahan agama Minahasa dan Kristen melalui upaya saling mengonstruksi yang dilakukan oleh komunitas pelaku ritual di Watu Pinawetengan. Fokus penelitian pada perubahan bersama, antara agama Minahasa dan Kristen dalam ritual melalui konstruksi perjumpaan simbol oleh komunitas pelaku ritual di Watu Pinawetengan. Bagi pelaku ritual, Watu Pinawetengan merupakan tempat sakral Tou Minahasa (manusia Minahasa) yang berada di Provinsi Sulawesi Utara, Kabupaten Minahasa. Individu-individu dalam komunitas mengonstruksi makna dari setiap simbol sehingga menciptakan paradigma fundamen tentang agama. Simbol sakral merujuk pada esensi dari suatu kepercayaan dalam agama, sehingga bersifat krusial dalam menggambarkan eksistensi suatu agama. Data diambil melalui penggunaan metode kualitatif dengan melakukan observasi, wawancara, studi pustaka, dan studi dokumenter. Temuan dari studi ini memperlihatkan perubahan simbol sakral dalam ritual telah dikonstruksi dalam diskursus agama Minahasa dan Kristen, sehingga mengakibatkan perubahan bersama pada kedua agama tersebut. Perubahan terjadi secara dialektis dan diperkuat dengan legitimasi roh leluhur.

A hospitality attitude is needed by the local community when the village where they live will become as a tourism village. This attitude is closely related to the way the community welcomes guests who come and even stay overnight in tourist villages. The aim of this training program is to improve hospitality knowledge and skills in tourism groups in Budo Village, wori sub-district, North Minahasa Regency. The training method is carried out in the form of: a teaching system, simulation through role play, and at the end of the training an evaluation of the entire material being taught is carried out. The expected outcome is an increase in the knowledge and skills of the tour groups and has a broad impact on the local community in Budo Village

<p><em>Gorontalo is one of the provinces located on the island of Sulawesi, at that time Gorontalo was still part of North Sulawesi but they decided to separate and create a new province. This paper describes how a son of Gorontalo was able to show his sense of nationalism and leadership towards the struggle for Indonesian independence, especially in pre-independence times in Gorontalo. Nani Wartabone is now a national hero. Nani Wartabone is the son of Gorontalo who began actively fighting for Indonesia since junior high school and he also worked a lot of leadership in the field of politics, social, education and economy. The method used in this writing is the study of literature from journals and books relevant to this article. The purpose of this literature review is to explore further the leadership of Nani Wartabone. From the results of this literature study can be drawn conclusions where the leadership attitude of Nani Wartabone can be used as a suri tauladan for high school students as a booster of leadership character in the future.</em></p>

Background: COVID-19 is an infectious disease that is currently a concern and has become a global problem. The trend in the number of confirmed cases and deaths due to COVID-19 every day is still increasing significantly. North Sulawesi Province currently has 7 regencies/cities which are declared as local transmission areas including North Minahasa Regency. The population density factor can affect the process of transmission of this disease. This study aims to determine the spatial description of the distribution of COVID-19 events in North Minahasa Regency.Methods: This quantitative research with descriptive observational design using a geographic information system approach. The location is in 10 sub-districts of North Minahasa Regency. Study population was all patients who were confirmed positive for COVID-19 based on data from the North Minahasa District Health Office as of 13 February 2021, as many as 1,273 cases. Simple random sampling was used and obtained 300 samples.Results: Results showed that the highest number of cases was for the age group 30-49 years (40%), female gender (54.7%), symptom onset date interval 4 days (26.7%), confirmation date grouped by month, namely October in 2020 (23%), the status of the patient recovered (86%), and there were no comorbidities (82%).Conclusions: Most of the cases of COVID-19 were found in densely populated areas and passenger transit areas between districts/cities. Policies on prevention and supervision of health protocols that are implemented must synergize across sectors and need to be improved.

The purpose of this study is to describe the learning process of Civic Education in schools and identify the values of local wisdom of the people of North Sulawesi that can be used as a source in Civic Education learning at the elementary, junior high, and high school levels. This research focuses on identifying the values of local wisdom of the people of North Sulawesi and analyzing the level of need for developing a Civic Education model based on the local culture of the people of North Sulawesi. This study uses a qualitative approach. Sources of data from this study were teachers at the elementary, junior high, and high school levels in North Sulawesi. St. Catholic Elementary School Clara Tomohon, St. Don Bosco Catholic 2 Elementary School  Paniki Bawah, SD Negeri 2 Tataaran, SMP Negeri 4 Tomohon, SMP Negeri 6 Manado, SMP Negeri 1 Tondano, SMK Negeri 1 Tomohon, SMA Negeri 1 Manado, and SMA Negeri 3 Tondano. Sources of data in this study were teachers who were in schools that were used as research locations. Collecting data through a google form, interview, observation, and literature study. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman technique, namely data collection, data reduction, conclusion, and drawing/verification. In testing the validity of the data, the researcher will use internal validity (credibility) on the aspect of truth value in its application in terms of external validity (transferability) and reliability (dependability) on the consistency aspect and objectivity ( confirmability ) on the naturalist aspect. This study found that the teacher prepared the Civics learning process from the planning, implementing, and evaluating. There is an urgent need to develop Civics learning models based on the local wisdom of the people of North Sulawesi.

AbstrakIndonesia memiliki kekayaan lagu rakyat yang beragam sesuai keberadaan suku-suku yang tersebar dari Sabang sampai Merauke. Warisan budaya yang tak ternilai ini tidak hanya perlu dilestarikan, tapi juga diberi langkah strategis agar dapat berkembang dan dikenal lebih jauh. Dalam konteks ini, O Ina Ni Keke, sebuah lagu rakyat dari Sulawesi Utara, telah menjadi repertoar standar orkestra yang mendunia. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui bagaimana komposisi struktur musikal yang diciptakan oleh Joko suprayitno untuk lagu sederhana khas lagu rakyat seperti O Ina Ni Keke mengubah lagu tersebut menjadi kelindan melodi, harmoni, tekstur, dan struktur elemen musikal lainnya dan pada akhirnya menjadi sebuah karya yang pernah dimainkan oleh Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan paparan deskriptif. Proses analisis menggunakan analisis teoretis musikologis atas bentukan struktur elemen musikal dalam aransemen lagu O Ina Ni Keke. Pendalaman proses analisis akan ditunjang oleh sumber-sumber tertulis seperti buku-buku komposisi musik dan juga notasi atau score hasil aransemen sebagai data pokok dalam proses analisis. Penelitian ini menemukan penggunaan variasi melodi kontrapungtal, penempatan melodi pokok di hampir semua instrumen musik yang memunculkan karakter bunyi yang berbeda-beda, dan penggunaan teknik pedal point.AbstractIndonesia has a wealth of folk songs that vary according to the existence of tribes that spread from Sabang to Merauke. This valueless cultural heritage should not only be preserved but also need strategic steps to strive for it to develop and be known further. From a folk song from North Sulawesi to a global standard orchestra repertoire. This study aims to find out how to composed the musical structure of simple songs typical of folk songs such as the song O Ina Ni Keke by Joko Suprayitno into a combination of melodies, harmonies, textures and other musical elements into a masterpiece that was once played by the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra during a concert at the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra. Simfonia Hall Jakarta in the framework of the Fundraising Concert for Palu & Donggala Tsunami Victims. This research uses qualitative research with descriptive exposure. The analysis process uses musicological theoretical analysis of the formation of musical elements in the arrangement of the song O Ina Ni Keke. The deepening of the analysis process will be supported by written sources such as music composition books and of course the notation or score of the arrangement as the main data in the analysis process. The results of the study found that the use of contrapuntal melody variations, the placement of the main melody in almost all instruments gave rise to different characters, and the use of the pedal point technique

Background: Toddlers are a vulnerable population to nutritional problems including stunting. Stunting can have negative impact on toddlers' health. One of the factors causing stunting in toddlers is maternal pregnancy depression. This study aims to determine the relationship between maternal pregnancy depression and the incidence of stunting in toddlers.Design and Methods: The research design employed a descriptive correlative with quota sampling technique. The research respondents were 140 mothers of toddlers in Indonesia such as West Java, East Java, Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Bali, North Sumatra, Riau, South Kalimantan, West Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, NTT, NTB, Maluku, Papua. The data were collected by using demographic method and the Edinburgh Postpartum Depression Scale (EPDS). The statistical tests employed correlation tests.Results: The analysis reveal that 26.4% toddlers in this study are stunted and 73.6% were not stunted. Maternal pregnancy depression has a significant relationship with the incidence of stunted toddlers (p = 0.044; r = 0.170).Conclusions: The results of this study are expected to underlie the development of mental health promotion to prevent stunted toddlers against maternal depression and preventive programs. In addition, the research is expected to underly provision of curative and rehabilitative programs for stunted toddlers.
