Traffic Congestion is considered as one of the major dimensions of a smart city. With the rapid growth of population and urban mobility in metropolitan cities, traffic congestion is often seen on roads. In this paper we have made an attempt to Intelligent Traffic Control System (ITCS) is to achieve improvement in Safety less time the valuable human life delay as per the distance density. With the help of traffic control we can assign more time on the side where it’s required and less time on the side where it’s not required. This device can be fitted into Vehicles like Bus, Car etc.

Traffic congestion nowadays has become a chronic issue in the Metropolitan cities due to which it takes more time to travel than the same distance travelled during the off peak hours. This decreases the productivity of an individual by instances such as delayed delivery of services, unnecessary fuel consumption, air and noise pollution, delay in the case of emergency. The traffic congestion has become a predominant problem due to the rapid increase in the demand of vehicles. In places where junctions are closely spaced, encounter a typical issue of lingering in the same traffic signal for multiple times due to the slow moving vehicle caused by congestion. In order to control this issue, research works have been carried out in automating the traffic control system with the help of sensors, image or video processing and also by prioritizing emergency vehicles approaching the junctions. However, employing camera to monitor the traffic is an expensive task. Thus, we are proposing the Density based synchronous of junctions that are closely placed which helps us to save our commuting time significantly and thus enhancing one’s productivity

In India, the concept of smart city has evolved since last few years. Smart city includes smart electricity distributions, smart parking, smart lighting on streets, smart water distribution, smart drainage system, smart pipe gas system, smart traffic control system etc. All smart systems listed need smart use of technical solution so that all systems will play critical role in making city as smart. As far as smart traffic control is concerned, there were few solutions suggested and implanted such as sensor with CCTV, camera with IR sensor and tags etc. The technical solution may include software, hardware, communication models, networking, usage of data and of-course data analytics. As large amount of data may be generated by the objects/components involved in the system, it must be analyzed properly. The data may be in structured or un-structured format. In this paper, smart traffic control system with efficient algorithm has been proposed with data analytics to control traffic, which controls the timing of the signal dynamically. At a junction, there is need to control the traffic and signal timing such that air and noise pollution also will be monitored and controlled. In this model, IoT system has been proposed with ultrasonic sensors to control the traffic. The signal timing will be dynamically monitored and adjusted with traffic density within a region. This will give solution to control, monitor the traffic at every signal in a city

This traffic controller system aims at designing a dynamic automated traffic control system where the signal and time limit will be automatically changed when it detects traffic congestion in any lane. Traffic congestion is a major problem in many cities around the world so it is urgent need to switch over from manual mode or timer mode to an automated traffic control system that has the power to make decisions on its own. The current traffic signal system is working on fixed time which may not work if one route gets more traffic than other lane. To overcome this problem, a smart traffic control system is proposed. When using this system high traffic congestion on a particular lane receives green for a longer period of time compared to the other lanes which has normal vehicle flow. Therefore, the proposed method of providing green and red light time is based on the amount of traffic congestion at the time with the help of an IR sensor and Sound sensors connected to ATmega 2560 Microcontroller.

Traffic congestion is one of the main problems in transportation sector and it causes a lot of drawbacks to public. The traffic light system is used to reduce the level of occurring traffic congestion. Generally, the available traffic light systems use a fixed time setting. This old traffic control system is no longer able to manage the ever-changing traffic conditions effectively and efficiently, causing a long queue of vehicles. To overcome this problem, a traffic light control system that can adapt to actual conditions of road density and can run automatically is offered. This system utilizes Google Map API as a road density data source. The result of this study is a traffic control system that can adjust the green light time duration based on the obtained density values and density trends, simulation of this adaptive system as well as simulation results analysis. A prototype of this adaptive control system was also produced in this study.

The urban traffic congestion is being increased day by day due to large number of vehicles are used by dense people in cities. In the current model of the Traffic Control System, the time delay of each signal light is static which leads to lot of waiting time and was tage of fuel. To overcome this problem, intelligent traffic management system of controlling the traffic lights using the ARM 7 controller and camera sensor is proposed. The camera which is installed along the pavement captures the real time video of the road. The video is then processed indifferent stages to find the number of vehicles in that particular lane using Convex hull technique and accordingly the time delay of the traffic signals has been changed dynamically. Incase, if an emergency vehicle like ambulance is detected by RF434 in a particular lane then automatically this lane will be given the highest priority to clear the traffic. Another feature is if any vehicle violates the traffic line that can also be identified by the RFID reader and automatically and an alert message will be sent to registered mobile number through GSM module which is interfaced with LPC2148.
