In the article, the authors consider the issues of the relationship between global supply chains and industrial production of semiconductors in modern conditions. Particular attention is paid to the applied value of the application of artificial intelligence technologies in industry in the light of the growth of global competition. Their specific features, strengths and weaknesses are shown. A brief macroeconomic analysis of the development of markets for robotics, the automotive industry, high-tech products, as well as modern regulations on the eve of a new technological order is given.

The article focuses on the need to study the processes of a new high-tech industrialization (neo-industrialization) at the macroregion level. The object of the study is the economic region of the Russian Federation (the macroregion) as a relatively integral spatially localized and complexly structured socio-economic entity, which includes four Ural regions – Kurgan region, Orenburg region, Sverdlovsk region and Chelyabinsk region, Perm krai and two republics – Republic of Bashkortostan and Republic of Udmurtia, which corresponds to the borders of the Ural economic region according to the all-Russian classifier of economic regions. The purpose of this study is to prove the relationship between the level of industrial production and the level of the pawnshop market development in the Ural macroregion. The territory of the Ural macroregion is analyzed from the perspective of the relationship between the level of industrial production and the level of the pawnshop market development. The Authors proved the existence of a direct relationship between the level of industrial production and the level of pawnshops territorial concentration, and also identified the territories that are leaders in the pawnshops concentration. The Authors put forward a scientific hypothesis about the most effective model of pawnshop activity. The conclusion is made about mutually beneficial cooperation between precious metal processing enterprises and pawnshops, which contributes to the development of both the pawnshop sector and this type of industrial activity.

Trade statistics portray China as the largest exporter of high-tech products. This paper demonstrates that China's leading position in high-tech exports is a myth created by outdated trade statistics, which are inconsistent with trade based on global supply chains. Current trade statistics mistakenly credit entire values of assembled high-tech products to China, thus greatly inflating its exports. This paper adopted a value-added approach to more accurately measure high-tech exports, revealing that, in 2009, China's valueadded accounted for only about 3 percent of the total value attributed for its exports of iPhones and laptop PCs. Furthermore, if assembly is the only source of value-added by Chinese workers, in terms of technological contribution, these assembled high-tech exports are indifferent from labor-intensive products, and so they should be excluded from the high-tech classification.

In the context of global agrocommodity supply chains, the sociotechnical imaginary of neoliberal sustainability is characterized by a belief that the impactfulness of market-based solutions like fair trade standards and voluntary certification schemes relies on the transparency and traceability of those supply chains. Achieving transparency and traceability, however, relies on the collection, analysis, and dissemination of data about numerous social, environmental, and economic factors, data that are generated through increasingly intensive regimes of high-tech monitoring and surveillance. For my interlocutors, who work to design and promote these standards, surveillance comes to be seen as not only justified but also expected and necessary, leading to the tacit categorization of certain spaces (and the human and non-human actors who populate them) as surveillable. In the case of sustainability standards specifically, which are imposed almost exclusively on producers in the Global South, the notion of surveillable space raises important questions about race and gender.

Artificial intelligence is designed to generate technologies that potentially increase productivity and economic welfare. This study analyzes the relationship between GDP and high-technology exports, GDP per person employed, and unemployment rate in China, India, Japan, and Singapore. Recent concerns on technological unemployment claim that artificial intelligence disrupts the labor market which decreases employment over time. Using the multiple regression analysis, this study proved that Japan comparatively has better utilization of AI and labor productivity as all independent variables show significance to the GDP. Labor productivity in all countries is positively related to GDP. However, China and India showed signs of improper AI utilization as technological unemployment occurred. The unemployment rate in China is insignificant to its GDP, while India's unemployment rate is positively related to GDP, hence the jobless growth. In Singapore, the insignificance of high-tech exports to GDP is due to its lack of R&D investments these recent years. The results suggest that AI escalates growth through proper utilization trade liberalization, as exercised by Japan, as it helps the economy to be open and flexible to various free trade agreements which facilitates technological progress and enables the opening of new markets for growth and expansion, especially of artificial intelligence, which attracts and encourage foreign direct investments that will cater technology transfer, creation of new jobs, and economic growth.
