<span>The aim of this study is to determine the anxiety level that visually impaired students may have for the future when planning their profession. Anxiety is defined as excessive level fear and worry about real or imaginary situations. So the excessive worry can affect the ability to act to solve a problem. This study is a case study based on the semi-structured interviews. The study group consists of six 8th grade students with visual impairment. The aim of selecting students with visual impairment as a sample group is to determine the individuals who are aware that education is an important for their future plans but at the same time aware that the barriers created by society have greater impact on their the socialization. As a result, visually impaired individuals are willing to be part of the society, but the created obstacles cause anxiety in many different ways as they constitute their futures. This situation negatively affects their motivation and academic performance, and diminishes the importance of education for them as well.</span>

A nation’s economic growth has been associated with the role of entrepreneurship. While recognising the work of entrepreneurship on the mindset and behaviour of individual entrepreneurs, research into an organisational perspective of entrepreneurship continues to emerge due to unprecedented developments occurring around the world over the last two decades. Notably, past studies have postulated that entrepreneurial organisations tend to perform better than conservative organisations. In this vein, the Malaysian government has set up Government-linked companies (GLCs) to enable these entities to become more effective, efficient, and competitive, which can assist the government in strengthening its economy. On the other hand, despite considerable improvements, the overall performance of GLCs has been unsatisfactory. Given the hostility and dynamism of the business environment, GLCs have no other option but to improve and perform better. Recognising this, the purpose of the study is to determine the underlying forces forcing GLCs to improve and to identify forms of corporate entrepreneurship (CE) pursued by GLCs. Building on the outcomes of semi-structured interviews with senior managers in GLCs, the need for CE is fostered by competition and market pressure, technological changes, and increases in operation costs. Finally, future studies of CE in Malaysia may consider other aspects of CE, including issues and challenges in pursuing CE effectively within GLCs business environment.

In this study I examined the role of collaboration, curriculum, and the classroom context in the development of pedagogical content knowledge of a mathematics teaching intern. Additionally, I investigated the nature of the collaborative process between the teaching intern and his mentor teacher as they collaborated on action (during structured planning time) and in action (while students were present). The teaching internship resided in a seventh-grade mathematics classroom during the teaching of a probability unit from a standards-based curriculum, Connected Mathematics Project. Using existing research, a conceptual framework was developed and multiple data sources (audio taped collaborations, observations of the intern's teaching practices, semi-structured interviews, and a mathematics pedagogy assessment) were analyzed in order to understand the teaching intern's development of knowledge of instructional strategies, knowledge of student understandings, curricular knowledge, and conceptions of purpose for teaching probability. Results identified numerous dilemmas related to planning and implementing instruction. Although the teaching intern developed pedagogical content knowledge, he often experienced difficulty accessing it while teaching. Through collaboration, curriculum, and the classroom context, the teaching intern learned to incorporate his pedagogical content knowledge in instruction. Analysis revealed that as he gained new knowledge he was able to shift his focus from content to the use of instructional strategies for teaching and learning. The curriculum was the primary focus of collaboration and initiated the intern's examination of the learning-to-teach process. Collaboration on action and collaboration in action proved to be essential elements in the development of pedagogical content knowledge.

ABSTRACTIntroduction: Visual impairment is a term used for the condition of a person who has a disturbance in the sense of sight. Physical limitations experienced by visually impaired individual make the knowledge regarding oral health difficult to obtain and tends to have a low level of oral hygiene. Therefore, a personal approach is needed so that the oral health knowledge and oral hygiene can be improved. This study was conducted to analyse the effect of Braille-based oral health education on the level of the visually impaired students’ oral hygiene. Methods: This research was pre-experimental research with a one-group pretest-posttest design. Research subjects were 18 students with a visual impairment from Special School-A TPA and Public Special School of Jember who were given education in the form of oral health manuals in the form of Braille books. Subjects were asked to maintain their oral hygiene by brushing their teeth twice a day for 21 days. Measurement of the oral hygiene level was carried out using the Green and Vermillion OHI-S index. Measurements were made on day 1 (evaluation 1) before being treated and trained in toothbrushes; day 10 (evaluation 2); and day 21 (evaluation 3). The data were analysed by the paired sample t-test parametric comparative analysis. Results: Data distribution was normal with p-value > 0.05 of (p = 0.200) (evaluation 1), 0.126 (evaluation 2), and 0.118 (evaluation 3). The counselling was conducted for ten days and had not reduced the OHI-S index, with a p-value of 0.317 (p > 0.05). Counselling then continued for 21 days and was able to reduce the OHI-S index with a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Providing Braille books-based oral health education to visually impaired students in Special School-A TPA and Public Special School of Jember improving their oral hygiene. Keywords: Visual impairment, education, Braille, oral hygiene, OHI-S.

This article reports on a 1995 survey of visually impaired students in Japan: 4,537 in special schools for visually impaired students and 233 in visual impairment units in mainstream schools. Although there appears to be a general decrease in the number of students with visual impairments in Japan, the proportion with additional disabilities is increasing. The findings for Japan are contrasted with those of similar studies in Great Britain.

This study investigated the information needs and library service delivery to students with visual impairment in Oyo State, Nigeria with a focus on assessing the influence of library 1 services; information needs; media formats availability and accessibility on library use among students with visual impairment in Oyo State, Nigeria. The study established educational information, health information and information on coping with their visual impairment as major information needs of the visually impaired students while circulation service, reference service and screen reading service on computers are found to be the only library services provided for them. Print Books/Magazines, Braille Books and Braille-in-Print were found to be prominent among the few media-formats available for the students while the dearth of media-formats was found to be inadequate in meeting the information needs of students with visual impairment in Oyo State. Lack of ease of accessing the library resources, facilities as well as library staff whenever they need help, poor policy on borrowing privileges, lack of path sounders to guide their movement around the library among others were major accessibility issues confronting the students in enjoying quality library services. The study recommended the need to address the provision of basic facilities that are critical to effective library service delivery to the visually impaired students.
