Key functions of the RAS Library for Natural Sciences are highlighted. The processes of catalog organization, development and update using BIBLIOBUS AILS are examined. Basic requirements to bibliographic record technology are discussed. The authors conclude that cataloguers need to access to reconciled cumulative reference information resources to consolidate the catalog and to ensure its reliable quality control.

Abstract. GlobeLand30 update data is one of the important products of the Construction Maintenance and Update of Geographic Information Resources Project (hereinafter referred to as the Update Project). It provides important basic information for national geographical conditions monitoring, eco-environmental assessment and global geographic information integrated services. Different from the land cover classification data in National Geoinformation Surveying and Monitoring Project, GlobeLand30 update data is a completely new type of scientific research outcomes with new setup of resolution, its data format and data structure are newly set according to the requirements of the Update Project. Therefore, current inspecting methods are of limitations and incompatibility and cannot be firmly reasonable for inspecting the accuracy of GlobeLand30 update data. Combining with the practice of quality control for the Update Project, this paper proposes a set of methods and processes for the quality inspection of the GlobeLand30 update data. It also summarizes the key points of its inspection and analyses the common errors found in the actual inspection practice of the Update Project from 2017 to 2018. It can provide a certain technical reference for the quality control and quality improvement of GlobeLand30 update data in the Update Project.

In this paper a new method is proposed for automating quality control and actualisation of spatial information using image data. A new model for imperfect geographic information is explored for this purpose: a twofold fuzzy region model; which is an extension of both the fuzzy region model and the egg/yolk model. This model is used to interpret spatial classifications and its imperfections in a new way. By defining different operators on the model an imprecise quality report can be developped for geographic databases that uses the imperfect spatial classification as reference information. The model makes it possible, despite the large amount of imperfection in spatial classifications, to use them for rather accurate error detection on geographic databases.

The study pays special attention to the influence of cultural factors on the development of students' intelligence in the process of research learning. The study of the development of students 'intelligence used a cross-cultural method, which included a comparative analysis of the development of students' intelligence in Ukraine and Poland. The concept of intelligence development with pedagogically balanced and methodically motivated use of components of computer-oriented methodical system of research training of students of natural sciences and mathematics in secondary schools of Ukraine and Poland is offered. A retrospective analysis is performed and the classification of the concepts "intelligence", "thinking", "giftedness" in the context of the significant role of intellectually gifted students in the development of society is given. The data obtained in the process of experimental research were used to analyze the most relevant in the process of research training of students of natural sciences and mathematics cycle information resources COMSRL. The existence of correlations between the advantages in the attitude of students and teachers to the use of certain information resources and the levels of intellectual development of students has been studied. The need for the selection of information resources to increase creativity, motivation and level of intellectual development of students, which leads to increased efficiency of research training. The results were significant at the level of reliability р £ 0,001. Spirituality in the cultures of Ukraine and Poland is manifested in different ways, so the value living space of gifted students differ in structure. Indicators of giftedness of students living in different socio-cultural environments differ because they participate in different polysystemic processes.

Crosshole sonic logging (CSL) can be used to determine the quality of joints in a diaphragm wall. Tests conducted on laboratory models have provided reference information for interpretation of field data. During two large construction projects, CSL has been implemented for quality control of diaphragm walls. The field experiences have shown the benefits of the tests and the predictive value of the reference measurements.

The author raises the issue of dialogue between the OPAC and the user. The card catalog had a reference apparatus system that guided the reader's work and assisted in the search process. If OPAC came to replace card catalogs, we have the right to consider dialogue a tool of any OPAC. It is proved that the card systematic catalog possessed cognitive, developing functions. However, this cannot be said about OPAC. It was expected that the OPAC would have the Knowledge Base in the form of an easy-to-view hierarchical classification schedules with an alphabetical index. But neither the dialogue nor the Knowledge Base of OPAC in the libraries of the country have. If at the input stage employees have some opportunities to clarify their decisions, then at the search stage the user is completely deprived of them. He formulates the request using his own “thesaurus”, which the program may not accept. The problems of equipping OPAC with reference information for the user, the general principles of working with OPAC are considered. The features of forming the heading of the bibliographic record are shown. The conclusion is made: questions of a thematic search in the OPAC have remained unresolved so far. The rights and possibilities of the user related to the work of OPAC are significantly limited. Many shortcomings could be resolved through dialogue. However, a situation has arisen in the country when potential participants in such a dialogue (system developers, cataloguers and bibliographers in libraries, OPAC’s users) do not meet each other for joint analysis of OPAC. Then, perhaps, the dialogue would appear in the catalog itself, where it is not today.
