A field experiment was carried out at Sonapur of Muradnagar upazilla in Cumilla district under the Debidwar MLT (Multi-Location Testing) site during the rabi season of 2013-15. The experiment was conducted in the Old Meghna Estuarine Floodplain (AEZ-19) soil. The experiment was laid out in randomized complete block design (RCBD) with 3 replications.The treatments were: T1= Soil Test Based (STB) Fertilizer dose (FRG 2012), T2= T1+ 15% STB, T3= T1+ 30% STB, T4= 80% STB from inorganic fertilizer + 20% STB from CD/PM, T5= Farmers’ Practice andT6= Control. Among the treatments, T4 gave the maximum seed yield (1385.56 kg ha-1) which was at par with T1, T3 and T2 treatments. The lowest seed yield (450.20 kg ha-1) was obtained from T6 (Control). To evaluate the combined effect of organic and inorganic fertilizer a field experiment was conducted on tomato for yield and yield contributing character of fruits using vermicompost and different types of inorganic fertilizers at the farms of Ishurdi Sub-station of Bangladesh Institute of Nuclear agriculture (BINA) during Rabi season, 2020. One variety (Binatomato-11) and ten different treatments T1 = control (no fertilizer), T2 = 100% CF (Chemical Fertilizer), T3 = 70% CF, T4 = 70% CF + 1 t ha-1 VC (Vermicompost), T5 = 70% CF + 2 t ha-1 VC, T6 = 70% CF + 3 t ha-1 VC, T7 = 85% CF, T8 = 85% CF+ 1 t ha-1 VC, T9 = 85% CF+ 2 t ha-1 VC and T10 = 85% CF + 3 t ha-1 VC were used as experimental materials. The field trial was laid out in a randomized complete block design with three replications. Results showed that plant height (120.67 cm), number of fruits/plant (53.33), single fruit weight (95 gm), fruit yield (63.33 t/ha), number of fruit picking (5 times) were higher in T5 (70% Chemical fertilizers + 2t ha-1 VC) than control and other treatments. No significant difference was observed in days to 1st flowering response to the treatments. The study revealed that combined effect of vermicompost and inorganic fertilizers affected tomato plant significantly.

A field experiment was conducted during rabi and kharif seasons of 2014-15 and 2015-16 to find out suitable linseed and sesame genotypes to fit in the Fallow-Fallow- T. aman rice cropping system under AEZ 20 in Sylhet region of Bangladesh. This experiment was laid out in a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with six dispersed replications. It was revealed that among the different linseed varieties, the genotype Zokiganj-local gave the maximum number (31.40) of capsules plant-1 and 1000-seed weight (4.01g) with the highest seed yield (1003 kg ha-1). Similarly, sesame var. BARI Til-4 provided maximum number of capsules plant-1 (71.33), seeds plant-1 (70.33) and highest 1000-seed weight (3.012g), which resulted the highest seed yield (1150 kg ha-1) yield in arable fallow land of Sylhet region. The lowest seed yield 782 and 840 kg ha-1 of linseed and sesame was produced by the genotypes Patuakhali local and the var. BARI Til-3, respectively.Bangladesh Agron. J. 2017, 20(1): 7-12

The experiment was conducted in medium highland at Dacope, Khulna during rabi season of 2010-11. The aim of the study was to observe the effect of integrated use of bio-slurry along with inorganic fertilizer on the performance of water melon grown in AEZ 13. The experiment was laid out in a randomized complete block design with four replications. Three fertilizer doses viz. T1 : Soil test based inorganic fertilizer dose for high yield goal (HYG), T2 : Cowdung bio-slurry @ 5t/ha + IPNS basis inorganic fertilizer dose for high yield goal and T3 : Farmers’ practice (average of 20 farmers surveyed) were taken as treatment. Results showed that yield and yield contributing characters of water melon were significantly influenced by the treatments. The highest fruit yield (44.50 t/ha) was recorded in cowdung bio-slurry@ 5 t/ha + IPNS basis inorganic fertilizer dose (T2) followed by T1 (40.27 t/ha). The lowest yield (35.20 t/ha) was obtained from farmers’ practice. Economic analysis also revealed that the gross return (Tk. 534000.00/ha) and gross margin (Tk. 427515.00/ha) were higher in T2. Field experiment has been conducted during autumn season of 2011-2012 at the experimental farm, Department of Agriculture Machines Science, Collage of Agriculture –University of Baghdad. A field study has been carried out to determine the effect of pulverization tools and tractor speed on yield of barley crops for optimum production and some machinery group. Pulverization tools treatments are (rotivator, disk harrow and spring cultivator). Tractor speed is (4 and 5 km hr-1). Randomized complete block design with three replications and LSD (0.05) is used to compare the means of treatments at 0.05.The experiment results show the following: The treatment of pulverization using rotivator+5 km hr-1 tractor speed achieves higher practicalproductivity with mean recorded 0.99 ha hr-1, and lower fuel consumption combined and slippage percentage with mean 28.31 and 7.77% respectively as  compared with disk harrow and spring cultivator The mean values of the pulverization tools and tractor speed show that rotivator+5 km hr-1 tractor speed gives heights value biological yield (t/ha) and seed yield (t/ha) recorder 18.23 and 5.85 Ton ha-1.

An experiment was conducted at Gokuleshwor, Baitadi to evaluate the management practices of Lipaphiserysimi (Kalt.) during Rabi season in 2017/18.Field experiment was laid out in a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments were:1) jholmol @250 ml/litre of water2) 2) Altineem @2.5ml/litre of water 3) Cow urine @250 ml/litre of water 4) Mustard cake @25kg/ha and 5) untreated (control). Each plot consists of 2m*2m (4m2). Field experiment showed that the highest reduction of Lipaphiserysimi (Kalt.) was achieved in jholmol followed by altineem but these two treatments were statistically at per during almost all the spray times. Thus, jholmol might be the best option in eco-friendly management of Lipaphiserysimi (Kalt).

A field experiment was conducted under All India coordinated Research Project on linseed at Agriculture Farm, College of Agriculture, Nagpur in Rabi Season 2019-20. The experiment was laid out in Factorial Randomized Block Design with three replication in which effect of three seed rate i.e. 30, 40 and 50 Kg/ha was tested on three genotypes i.e. BRLS-106, Shekhar and T- 397. The results revealed that among the genotype BRLS -106 was found superior over Shekhar and T-397 genotypes under utera condition with respect to growth, yield and yield attributes. However, the seed rate 50 kg-1 found superior in yield, GMR and NMR. The interaction of BRLS-106 with seed rate 40kg/ha has recorded the highest seed yield and net monetary returns also.

An experiment was conducted to detect fertilizer doses in cauliflower (Brassica oleracea var. botryitis, L. Family: Cruciferae) during rabi season of 2016-17. The location for the study was at the Multi location Testing (MLT) site, (medium highland under AEZ-03) Goneshpur of Shibganj upazilla under Bogura district. The experiment was laid out in randomized complete block design (RCBD) with eight dispersed replications. There were eight nutrient packages viz. T1 = 100% NPKSZnB (STB), T2 = T1+ 25% N, T3 = T1+ 25% NP, T4 = T1+ 25% NK, T5 = T1+ 25% PK, T6 = T1+ 25% NPK T7 = 75% of T1 and T8 = Control. The highest yield (42.11t ha-1) was obtained from the treatment T6 which was statistically similar with the rest treatments except T7 (35.89 t ha-1) and T8 (18.36 t ha-1). In case of gross margin, the highest value, (824607) was also obtained from the treatment T6 followed by T3, T1 and T4. The treatment T6 (T1+ 25% higher NPK), fertilizer management practices produced higher in terms of cauliflower yield, gross return, gross margin over the other treatments. Therefore, the result revealed that recommended fertilizer dose N138.25 P50 K143.75 s 4.5 Zn 3.22 B 0.51 Kg ha-1 was optimum for maximizing the yield as well as economically and environmentally viable for cauliflower cultivation in Bogura region. An experiment was conducted at the Multi location Testing (MLT) site, (medium highland under AEZ-25) Pachbibi, Joypurhat, Bogura district during rabi season of 2015-16. In the study, to evaluate the response of panikachu to different nutrient management practices under farmer’s field condition. There were five treatments viz. T1=Soil test based fertilizer dose (FRG 2012), T2=T1+ 25% NPK, T3=IPNS with 3 tha-1 poultry manure, T4= IPNS with 5 tha-1 cowdung, and T5= Farmers practice. The experiment was laid out in randomized complete block design (RCBD) with six dispersed replications.T3= IPNS with 3 t ha-1 poultry manure, T4 = IPNS with 5 t ha-1 cowdung, and T5= Farmers practice. The highest Panikachu rhizome yield (21.71 t ha-1), gross return (TK. 430185ha-1) and BCR (3.61) were found from T3 (IPNS with 3 t ha-1 poultry manure) which was followed by T5 (19.66 tha-1) T4 (19.45 tha-1), and statistically differed to other treatments. However, from results, it could be recommended that IPNS will be a promising technology for higher crop yields of Panikachu and profit as well as for the improvement of soil fertility and sustain soil productivity in Joypurhat region. The field experiment was carried out during winter of 2018/19 with two varieties (Unnati and Surkhet-Local) and three plant geometry (15cm × 10 cm, 30cm × 10 cm, 45cm × 10cm) in Randomized complete block design (RCBD) with four replications. Statistically there was no difference between two varieties while differences were found on different spacing and interaction between variety and spacing on final seed yield. High significant differences on seed yield was due to spacing and yield of rapeseed were higher at the 30 cm inter row spacing as compared to the 15 cm and 45 cm inter row spacing. Statistically significant effect was found on mean values of seed yield for interaction which showed that Unnati cultivar in 30 cm x 10 cm plant geometry had the highest seed yield (969.86 kg/ha) followed by Surkhet-local with  spacing of 15 cm × 10 cm (843.75 kg/ha) and 30 cm × 10 cm (823.76 kg/ha). Yield of these varieties decreased as spacing is increased, thus sowing of Unnati should be done at cropping geometry of 30 cm × 10 cm and for Surkhet-local it should not be done beyond 30 cm inter row spacing to get the maximum potential yield. Performance of three newly released short-seasoned (Nsinjiro, Chitala and JL11) were evaluated against old (Nyanda, Illanda and Tern) groundnuts varieties under same agronomic practices. A field experiment laid in a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replicates was done. Varieties were evaluated for days to 50% emergence, 50% flowering, days to physiological maturity, pod and seed yield, and shelling percentage. There were no significant difference in the days to 50% emergence among all varieties but significant difference (p ˂ 0.05) were observed on days to 50% flowering. JL11 and Tern took shortest (90 days) and longest (120 days) time to physiological maturity respectively. Chitala had highest (3.804t/ha) and Tern had lowest (3.020t/ha) seed yield. Jl11 had highest (83%) and Nyanda least (68%) shelling percentage. Results showed that the new varieties out-performed the old varieties in all measured parameters. Therefore, resource constrained farmers may safely opt for the new short-seasoned varieties over the old ones.
