This paper explores the phenomenon of gravity modeling to examine the crucial relationships between the trade balances of Bangladesh with BRICS countries. Specifically, the relative factors determining trade in the popular gravity model have effects on the trade balance model. The trade balance depends on the relative GDP, relative per capita GNI, real exchange rate and import-weighted distance proxies for transportation cost of the partner countries to the home country. Using standard panel data techniques during the 1991-2013 period, the model is empirically tested and the results show significant effects of all the relative factors on the bilateral trade balance of Bangladesh in trading with BRICS countries. The robustness check of the model ensures the validity of the specification. The static panel data analysis explores the cross-country variations as well as the time-invariant country-specific effects on trade balance with heterogeneous economies and finds significant effects of all relative factors on the trade balance of Bangladesh.

In this study, the effect of real exchange rate on bilateral trade balance between Turkey and its 25 main trade partners is investigated for the period of 1996 - 2015 with heterogeneous panel data techniques. Trade balance model is estimated by using Mean Group (MG) estimator, which allows parameter heterogeneity, Common Correlated Effects Mean Group (CCEMG), and Augmented Mean Group (AMG) estimators, which both allow cross-section dependency and heterogeneity. Results indicate that the real exchange rate elasticity of the trade balance ranges between -0.40 and -0.45 and Marshall-Lerner (ML) condition is valid for Turkey. According to the results, the foreign income elasticity of trade balance ranges between 1.54 and 2.84, while for domestic income elasticity, it is found between -0.75 and -1.38. Country-specific results show that ML condition is valid for the USA, Belgium, Spain, Switzerland, Romania, and Russia at the bilateral level according to both CCEMG and AMG estimators.

Abstract In this research endeavor, we have tried to assess the dynamic relationships between Bangladesh's trade balances with the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) countries as well as whether Bangladesh could be benefitted if it has shown its intention to integrate with the TPP agreement. Hence, the tariff rate exporter per product is used as a proxy for economic integration variable along with conventional trade balance model. From the time span of 2005 to 2020, the simulated trade model tested for Bangladesh's merchandise trade with its TPP trading partner countries (with or without the USA). A dynamic balanced panel data analysis has used to capture the Unrestricted Error Correction Mechanism (UECM) and Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) estimator. The model has tested under two different scenarios (with or without integration), and a robustness check of the model has confirmed the validation of the specification. The study has shown that cointegration exists; stable long-run relationships from any short-run deviation and short-run dynamics has also shown convergence. Therefore, empirical results have indicated that, without integrating both scenarios the value of coefficient of proxy for economic integration variable in both cases is 0.21 and statistically significant as well as Bangladesh's trade balance is relatively better off without integration than integration with the TPP agreement. Thus, this study has suggested that Bangladesh should be maintained bilateral trade relationship instead of not joining the TPP mega-regional FTA (i.e., TPP without the USA).

Shadow economy is a fact faced by all countries in the world. Despite the existence of the shadow economy which can not be disputed, the accurate information regarding the existence of shadow economy is very difficult to be obtained because all parties involved in it do not want to be identified (hidden nature). The aims of this study is to analyze the determinants that have significant influence on the shadow economy for BRICS Countries and Indonesia. Using panel data for 6 countries we find that the performance of government, intensity of regulatory on economic framework, tax burden significantly affect shadow economy. EGLS panel data analysis results reveal the key determinants of shadow economy estimates. Then, those determinants are used to compare the shadow economy among examined countries to obtain estimates of each country's performance. In this research, Indonesia has relatively good performance compared with BRICS Countries regarding shadow economy determinants.

Financial development could exert various effects on income distribution of a country. By employing Generalized Method of Moment, this paper aims at examining the impacts of credit market depth, one of most used financial development barometers, on income inequality in Vietnam. The empirical findings show that expanding credit market in the country could lead to higher income inequality. We have not found evidence that supports the hypothesis of an inverted U-shaped relation ever introduced by Greenwood and Jovanovich, although this hypothesis may still hold in a sense that Vietnam has not reached to the inflection point to generate such a curve alike.

The concept of entrepreneurial orientation, which emerges with the development of strategic management, refers to entrepreneurship orientations of businesses. The businesses need resources in other words organizational slack in order to develop their entrepreneurial trends. The organizational slack consists of three slack type. These slack types are available slack, recoverable slack and potential slack. The purpose of this study is to examine whether organizational slack in the businesses has an effect on entrepreneurial orientation. The relationship between organizational slack and entrepreneurial orientation was investigated through 20 companies that were traded in Borsa Istanbul Corporate Governance Index for 2010-2014 period using panel data analysis method. The results of the study indicate the existence of a statistically significant relationship between and the available slack and the recoverable slack with the entrepreneurial orientation in the businesses. According to findings; there was no statistically significant relationship between potential slack and entrepreneurial orientation.
