Better Later Than Never: Meaning in Late Life

The quest for meaning in life takes on new challenges and directions during late life. This mini-review draws on prior theory to analyze meaningfulness into six discrete dimensions (purpose, value, efficacy, self-worth, mattering, and comprehension) and covers research into how these apply and operate specifically during late life. Limited remaining time, concern with one's legacy, concerns with self-continuity and integration, variable challenges to self-worth, and prioritization of positivity emerge as key themes.

Should Bangladesh be Integrated with Trans-Pacific Partnership? A Dynamic Panel Data Analysis

In this research endeavor, we have tried to assess the dynamic relationships between Bangladesh's trade balances with the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) countries as well as whether Bangladesh could be benefitted if it has shown its intention to integrate with the TPP agreement. Hence, the tariff rate exporter per product is used as a proxy for economic integration variable along with conventional trade balance model. From the time span of 2005 to 2020, the simulated trade model tested for Bangladesh's merchandise trade with its TPP trading partner countries (with or without the USA). A dynamic balanced panel data analysis has used to capture the Unrestricted Error Correction Mechanism (UECM) and Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) estimator. The model has tested under two different scenarios (with or without integration), and a robustness check of the model has confirmed the validation of the specification. The study has shown that cointegration exists; stable long-run relationships from any short-run deviation and short-run dynamics has also shown convergence. Therefore, empirical results have indicated that, without integrating both scenarios the value of coefficient of proxy for economic integration variable in both cases is 0.21 and statistically significant as well as Bangladesh's trade balance is relatively better off without integration than integration with the TPP agreement. Thus, this study has suggested that Bangladesh should be maintained bilateral trade relationship instead of not joining the TPP mega-regional FTA (i.e., TPP without the USA).

Efektivitas Program Pemberdayaan Keterampilan Bagi Penyandang Disabilitas oleh Dinas Sosial Kecamatan Tambun Selatan Kabupaten Bekasi

This research is motivated by the large number of people with disabilites in Bekasi Regency, however the level of empowerment carried out by the Social Service has not been evenly distributed to person with disabilities in Bekasi Regency. This research method uses descriptive qualitative method, with data analysis using Milles and Huberman. The results of this study indicate that the effectiveness of the skills empowerment program for person with disabilities has not been effective, seen in the Integration variable in the precess of implementing the skill empowerment program, there is no socialization carried out either from the Social Service or from the South Tambun District, which has an impact on the lack of information for people variables of Facilities and Infrastructure provide during the preocess of empowering the skills of facilities and infrastucture, it was Social Service or Tambun District regarding the tools. That given toeach group were not used properly and there were some tools. That given by the office of social affairs is lost due to the lack of supervision carried out by the Social Service or Tambun District. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh banyaknya jumlah penyandang disabilitas di Kabupaten Bekasi, namun tingkat pemberdayaan yang dilakukan oleh Dinas Sosial belum merata kepada penyandang Disabilitas yang ada di Kabupaten Bekasi. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deksriptif, dengan analisa data mengunakan Milles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa efektivitas program pemberdayaan keterampilan bagi penyandang disabilitas belum berjalan dengan efektiv dilihat pada variabel Integrasi dalam proses pelaksanaan program pemberdayaan keterampilan tidak ada sosialisasi yang dilakukan baik dari pihak Dinas Sosial ataupun dari Kecamatan Tambun Selatan, yang berdampak pada kurangnya informasi bagi penyadang disabilitas terkait dengan adanya program pemberdayaan keterampilan. Kemudian pada variabel Sarana dan Prasarana yang diberikan pada saat proses program pemberdayaan keterampilan sarana dan prasraana sudah memadai hanya saja kurang pengawasan baik dari Dinas Sosial atau Kecamatan Tambun terkait dengan alat-alat yang diberikan pada setiap kelompok tidak digunakan dengan baik dan ada sebagian alat-alat yang diberikan Oleh Dinas Sosial hilang karena kurangnya pengawasan yang dilakukan oleh Dinas Sosial ataupun Kecamatan Tambun.

Method for user interface design based on integration-variable concept model

The model of an integration-variable concept is designed to store all the information necessary for user interface design. The use of such model will make it possible to design an interface that is adequate for the professional activity of the user. In this case, it is necessary to implement in the model the level of professional activity, the level of information activity, the level of presentation of the primary document, as well as the level of description of the rules for converting intermediate data into fields of primary documents. The method presented in the article is based on the use of a model of an integrationvariable concept.

ISOLATION AND EXPULSION OF DIVERGENCES IN QUANTUM FIELD THEORY

Divergences that arise in the quantization of scalar quantum field models by means of a lattice-space functional integration may be attributed to a single integration variable, and this fact is demonstrated by showing that if the integrand for that single integration variable is appropriately changed, then a perturbation expansion becomes order-by-order finite and divergence free. The paper concludes with a brief review of a current proposal of how an auxiliary, nonclassical potential added to the lattice action of a relativistic scalar field quantization may automatically render an analogous change of the integrand, and thus may lead, as well, to nontrivial and divergence-free results.
