A new concept of the architecture of hybrid lighting systems for installations of combined lighting is considered. The cascade principle of constructing the optical path of such complexes is described, in which the design contains two stages of the cascade: the upper and lower stages. The upper (input) structure is made on the basis of the corresponding modification of the hollow tube “Solatube®” (daylight), and the lower one, based on the “Solatube®” fibre of a larger diameter, is combined with LED artificial light block and is designed to transmit mixed light (daylight and artificial light). The results of studies on the efficiency of light transmission made it possible to optimize the solution of the new modification of the hybrid lighting complex “Solar LED”, lower stage of the cascade, and to develop the nomenclature of the production line “S”. The description of the first experience of using this complex in the pilot combined illumination system of the “meeting room” in the shopping centre “IKEA Belaya Dacha” headquarters is given. A completely autonomous power supply system for a lighting installation based on solar panels has been implemented.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to provide an analysis of the studies about workaround behavior in the Information Systems (IS) area, addressing its positive and negative aspects and raising the key related issues. Design/methodology/approach A systematic literature review was conducted to verify how workaround behavior has been approached in IS studies. A qualitative method was adopted and implemented in two stages: selection of articles from the time period 2007-2017 in the databases Web of Science, ScienceDirect and Scopus and analysis of the selected articles. Findings The results showed that many studies have been concerned with identifying the principal reasons for the manifestation of workaround behavior and the measures taken to reduce its impacts. Many studies from international journals examined the implementation of an ERP along with the workaround behavior. The need to expand the national studies on workaround behavior is emphasized, because the majority of the identified studies are international. Research limitations/implications The key limitation is related to the period of analysis, because only articles published since 2007 were selected. Practical implications This paper contributes to both theory and practice, bringing relevant concepts about workaround behavior, and corroborating the importance of the studies on workaround in the IS area. The literature review of the 20 articles analyzed reveals the main features in each article, such as theoretical and methodological aspects that support the research. Based on this analysis, a conceptual map was developed presenting the most relevant points about workaround behavior, where the causes, the negative and positive consequences, the types of solutions and the organizational and individual impacts are presented. Originality/value Research into workaround behavior has increased in recent years, however very few studies have been conducted in Brazil. To the best of the authors' knowledge, no articles regarding Brazil and this subject were published between 2007 and 2017. Thus, this paper seeks to redress this imbalance.

Previous to the classification of some of the lines of the phosphorus spectrum into series of the doubly-ionised atom, which is described in the present paper, no series had been observed for the elements of group V of the periodic table. The element phosphorus of this group was selected for investigation because the spectrum corresponding to each stage of ionisation was expected to bear a marked resemblance to that of the silicon atom of one lower stage of ionisation, of the aluminium atom of two stages lower, of the magnesium atom of three stages lower, and so on. The series corresponding to successive stages of ionisation of some of these atoms had already been worked out, and hence, if the series spectra of phosphorus could be observed, a direct comparison would be possible. The spectrum of the neutral atom of phosphorus has been identified and described by the present writer, but no series relationships have been found. This is probably due to the limited range of the spectrum which it has been possible to investigate so far. The region investigated by Geuter in 1907 extends from λ 5727·90 to λ 2389·93 and contains 530 lines which are ascribed to phosphorus. Kayser gives also the approximate wave-lengths of a few more lines at the red end up to λ 6505. Only four of these lines belong to the arc spectrum, and the rest are therefore lines of phosphorus at one or more stages of ionisation.

The lighting systems of homes and workplaces today must be constantly redesigned to be environmentally friendly, sustainable, healthy and ergonomic. This requires maximizing the flow of daylight into indoors, minimizing the amount of pollutants used in their manufacture, long durability materials considered in the design, maximizing energy efficiency of the lighting system components, mimicking the spectrum of natural light and providing some control of lighting modes by the user. Taking into account all these considerations, it is proposed the design and construction of an intelligent lighting system that regulates the use of natural and artificial light, prioritizing the availability of the former over the latter in order to be implemented in housing in the region of the Yucata´n peninsula. To achieve this goal, it is designed and built a light sensor with its own signal conditioning circuit, a light tube of stainless steel with luminous flux control, a dimming circuit for a lamp that uses light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and a control system with a PIC18f4550 micro controller.

Today energy is the principle idea for socio-economic development. But because of incremental charge of environmental difficulty renewable strength offer a tremendous interest. This opportunity strength supply is constantly achieving more recognition because of non-stop discount in fossil fuels. It is the strength comes from solar, wind, rain etc. Among the non-conventional, renewable sources, sun power presents notable capability for conversion into electric power. Maximizing strength output from a sun is appropriate to growth efficiency. In order to maximize strength output, wishes to hold the panels aligned with the solar. This paper focuses with the generation capacity of solar energy during day time and as well as during night time. The proposed model guarantees the optimization of the conversion of sun energy into electrical energy via means of properly setting up the panel according with the input of artificial light source in night time and at the same time to that of the sun position during day time. An experimental prototype was built and results have proven the good performance. In future higher efficiencies of solar panels will prove a golden way in generation of solar power 4 times the input in the night time.

Abstract Building integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) offer aesthetics and freedom of design for architects and home owners. This can accelerate implementation and free up new spaces for solar energy harvesting at building level, which is a necessary step towards a climate neutral built environment. Colored solar panels with high conversion efficiency and low cost price are an important development for large scale market penetration of BIPV. Here we report a solution processed structural color coating for solar panels and solar collectors. We show that virtually any color can be prepared, that the desired coating stack can be designed using optical calculations and that the exact color can be produced via a low cost solution process. Furthermore, we show that the light transmission for the colored glass plates is still very high, exceeding commonly used absorbing colors and enables very high solar cell efficiency. The colored PV panels have been tested in real environment and via accelerated lifetime testing for 3 years without any performance decline or degradation.

Pasie Nan Tigo Urban Village has 20 Fishermen Groups, one of which is active is the Pantai Jaya Fishermen Group. Based on the facts and discussions with the Pantai Jaya Fishermen group it was found that the most important problem was the high operational costs required when going to sea, while the fish catches obtained were uncertain and the lack of technological touch in the fishing process. To go to sea, fishermen with Tondo Ships must prepare a minimum fund of 1.35 million rupiah, of which around 50% is used to buy fuel oil (BBM). The solution offered to solve the problem is the utilization of environmentally friendly solar energy through the solar panel technology of ship lighting systems. It is expected that from this activity can be obtained by fishing boats powered by environmentally friendly solar energy that is more economical and profitable. The use of solar panels for ship lighting systems will replace the use of generator engines which so far need fuel.

Plant growth in protected environments may be increased by improving light transmission or by providing supplementary artificial light, or perhaps eventually by improving the efficiency of the photosynthetic process. Much has yet to be learned, both of the inter-relations between crop growth and various environment factors, and of mechanisms and metabolic processes within the plant, but there is no doubt that plants have a physiological potential to yield more than they now do.

The light pollution levels experienced at any given site generally depend on a wide number of artificial light sources distributed throughout the surrounding territory. Since photons can travel long distances before being scattered by the atmosphere, any effective proposal for reducing local light pollution levels needs an accurate assessment of the relative weight of all intervening light sources, including those located tens or even hundreds of km away. In this paper we describe several ways of quantifying and visualizing these relative weights. Particular emphasis is made on the aggregate contribution of the municipalities, which are -in many regions of the world- the administrative bodies primarily responsible for the planning and maintenance of public outdoor lighting systems
