The objective of this paper, which lies within the field of language teaching and especially on the role of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), was to investigate the potential of ICT in triggering oral language development in the learners of French for Specifc purposes (FSP) at Business School, Makerere University. This paper adopts action research that focuses on the role of technologies deployed in oral technical presentations of macro-tasks such as the use of MS Office. The aim is to enhance French learners’ skills in French for Specifc purposes. The social constructivist or cultural hypotheses posit that social interaction plays an important role in L2 acquisition (French in this case) in FSP classes through a hybrid environment based on macro-tasks performed in distance and presented in class. This research involved identifying and putting into place a learning system for learners of FSP who experienced several difficulties with their spoken French in the learning process. It further posits that learners construct the new language through socially mediated interaction. Subsequently, this involved establishing whether the use of PowerPoint presentation (PPT) would engage learners of FSP in collective actions both in the classroom and in the real world activities. In addition, there was an attempt to establish if relevant web quest materials were likely to enhance oral language acquisition and prompt learners to take responsibility for their own learning.

This article highlights the peculiarities of information psychological security. The concept of psychological protection in the narrow sense leads to a special change in the content of consciousness as a result of the action of a number of defense mechanisms: amplification, projection, identification, regression, isolation, rationalization, conversion and others. The action of these protective mechanisms does not increase the adequacy of human behavior and information-orienting barriers of his system of subject-human relations, and in some cases may reduce their adequacy. Such an interpretation, formed within the bounds of a psychoanalytic approach, focuses on the neutralization of internal factors, which are usually ambiguous, but are usually caused by external influences. In such cases, barriers to the direct limitation of external influences, such as psychological manipulations of information and communication interactions at the social, socio-group, interpersonal levels, are neglected. The place and role of information psychological security in the life of human society is analyzed philosophically.

If we want to convert our rural population into knowledge driven, progressive, self sufficient, self reliant, sustainable society, the role of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT’s) cannot be ignored. Timely availability information is considered as most important factor in Indian agriculture. At present ICT is the technology of this millennium. Transferring the developed technology to all end users is time-consuming and tiresome task and is often not completed due to paucity of resources and lack of manpower. In India, agriculture and rural development has gained significantly from ICT due to its widespread extension and adoption. In this era of internet, ICT is committed to provide real, timely accurate authentic information to the farmers and rural peoples.

AbstractSeveral decades of research have addressed the role of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in industrial-organizational (I-O) psychology. However, segmented research streams with myriad terminologies run the risk of construct proliferation and lack an integrated theoretical justification of the contributions of ICT concepts. Therefore, by identifying important trends and reflecting on key constructs, findings, and theories, our review seeks to determine whether a compelling case can be made for the uniqueness of ICT-related concepts in studying employee and performance in I-O psychology. Two major themes emerge from our review of the ICT literature: (a) a technology behavior perspective and (b) a technology experience perspective. The technology behavior perspective with three subcategories (the “where” of work design, the “when” of work extension, and the “what” of work inattention) explores how individual technology use can be informative for predicting employee well-being and performance. The technology experience perspective theme with two subcategories (the “how” of ICT appraisals and “why” of motives) emphasizes unique psychological (as opposed to behavioral) experiences arising from the technological work context. Based on this review, we outline key challenges of current ICT research perspectives and opportunities for further enhancing our understanding of technological implications for individual workers and organizations.
