A Systematic Review: Family Support Integrated with Diabetes Self-Management among Uncontrolled Type II Diabetes Mellitus Patients

Aim: To determine knowledge of hypoglycaemic symptoms & their self-management among pts with type II diabetes mellitus. Study Design: Descriptive, cross-sectional. Place and duration of study: OPD Clinic of Department of Medicine, Chandka Medical College Hospital Larkana from 23rd May 2019 to 22nd November 2019. Methodology: One hundred and thirty five patients with type II diabetes mellitus of age 35- 60 years were selected. Patients with type I DM and neuro-psychiatric illness were excluded. The symptoms of hypoglycemia and their responses to those symptoms were recorded. Results: The mean age of 47.07±6.04years and majority of the patients 83 (61.48%) were between 46-60 years of age. Seventy two (53.33%) were male and 63 (46.67%) were females. Mean duration of diabetes mellitus was 6.90±3.86 years. Adequate knowledge of hypoglycemic symptoms and their self-management among patients with type II diabetes mellitus was found in 62 (56.9%) patients. Conclusion: Hypoglycemic patients are significantly unaware of their condition and have a very low knowledge about hypoglycemia and its self-management. This study aims to determine the factors that affect dietary compliance in patients with type II diabetes mellitus, including family support, knowledge, income, and nutritional counseling. The research method used in this study is cross-sectional. This study indicates a relationship between family support, understanding, revenue, and nutritional counseling on dietary compliance in older people with type II diabetes Mellitus in 2019 in a district in Jambi. In conclusion, there is a relationship between family support, knowledge, income, and nutritional counseling on dietary compliance in older people with type II diabetes Mellitus. Organophosphate (OP) pesticides are extremely poisonous and they affect the glucose breakdown in numerous and mechanism. There are higher evidence of stimulating diabetes mellitus through OP pesticides especially the type II diabetes. The upsurge in the level of glucose (hyperglycemia), and insulin resistance along with their related outcomes are discussed in this review. The data related to investigational and clinical techniques endorse a connection amid such molecular mechanism and compounds of OPs. Numerous studies conducted till March 2018 have reported OP’ exposures and diabetes-related outcomes. The acute and chronic exposure in case of these insecticides and diabetesrelated outcomes are defined in this study. Initially, it was declared that OPs prompt to hyperglycemia. Then, a high association of glucose in blood beside insulin was found out. The affirmation from some clinical as well as investigational studies supported a connection amid exposure to OP and diabetes, yet in maximum number of instances, non-specific diabetes occurs.

Diabetes is a serious chronic disease that occurs because the pancreas does not produce enough insulin. Quality of life is very important to get serious attention, because the quality of life is something that is closely related to a person's health condition, the severity of the disease, the duration of healing, and can even aggravate the condition of the disease to death if a person has a poor quality of life. This study aims to determine the relationship between family support and stress with the quality of life of the elderly with type II diabetes mellitus in the Sekupang Health Center, Batam City, 2020. Data collection usedthe questionnaire brought by the researcher to the population elderly people with Type II Diabetes Mellitusin Batam City in 2020. The inclusion criteria are elderly who are willing to be respondents, elderly who suffer from Diabetes Mellitus Type II, elderly who are ≥60 years old, elderly who can communicate well, and elderly who do not experience cognitive impairment. Research respondents involved in this study were 64 respondents. Chi-Square statistical test results obtained value (p value = 0.000 <0.05), indicating that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. Conclusion: there is a significant relationship between family support and stress with the quality of life of the elderly with type II diabetes mellitus in the Sekupang Health Center, Batam City, 2020.
