Purpose: Fostering student’s map reading skills, specifically understanding contour lines, is a challenging area of the Physical Education curriculum. Method: 238 students in their first year of secondary education (Mage = 13.1) were randomly assigned to one of these experimental conditions in physical education classes: (a) Teaching intervention 1 (TI-1): integrating the concept of contour lines into practical sessions of acrobatic gymnastics; (b) TI-2: theoretical sessions regarding contour lines; (c) Active control (AC): reading an introductory text about topographic maps; and two passive controls (PC) without any intervention, (d) PC-1 and (e) PC-2. Results: All students, except for PC-2, improved their knowledge of contour lines. Nevertheless, performing corporal figures (in TI-1) and employing pointing and tracing gestures (in TI-2) helped students to correctly resolve a broader range of tasks. Conclusions: The results highlighted the benefits of teaching proposals that favor movement and the experience of the body.

We consider the aspects of adaptation to the process of training and physical education of first year cadets. Problems and aspects of physiological adaptation are designated and its connection with activity of cardiovascular system of an organism of first year cadets is shown. The main factor of the considered process of physiological adaptation is shown. The relevance of the study of adaptive mechanisms of the body of first year cadets during the beginning of their training in the military university is proved. The necessity of increasing the volume of physical activity for more successful adaptation of first year cadets to training in a military university is proved. Reflects the results of exposure to prolonged and regular physical activity, compatible with the normal functioning of the organism in which the person developing his adaptive functional reorganization. Studies of functional possibilities of cardiovascular system of first year cadets to specify Robinson's index (for the purpose of quantitative characteristics of the systolic heart function). The estimation of these parameters is necessary to complete the definition of adaptation possibilities of organism of first year cadets. The results of the study of heart rate, systolic blood pressure at rest are also reflected. All studies are aimed at determining the effectiveness of the implementation of the developed system of physical education of first year cadets, aimed at improving the adaptive capacity of their body, to improve the educational process in the military university.

at present, the physical education and health course in primary and secondary schools in China is faced with the dilemma of failing to strengthen the body and bring health and vitality to the students. Through the method of literature review and comparative analysis, this paper studies the physical education curriculum of primary and secondary schools in China, finds that there are some problems in the curriculum of primary and secondary school sports, and explores the social impact of these problems from multiple perspectives. From the perspective of “healthy China 2030”, this paper puts forward the following suggestions: 1. Adjusting measures to local conditions, vigorously promoting the development of school-based physical education curriculum; 2. Paying attention to the clarity of curriculum objectives, reflecting the gradual and targeted of curriculum objectives; 3. Constructing the primary, junior high and high school integrated physical education curriculum teaching content system, hoping that this study could provide a certain theoretical support for Chinese primary and secondary school physical education and health courses so that physical education could become an important position for young people to civilize their spirit and savage their physique, and provide help for the early realization of sports power and healthy China.

Nelson and Morrison (2005 , study 3) reported that men who feel hungry preferred heavier women. The present study replicates these results by using real photographs of women and examines the mediation effect of hunger scores. Men were solicited while entering or leaving a restaurant and asked to report their hunger on a 10-point scale. Afterwards, they were presented with three photographs of a woman in a bikini: One with a slim body type, one with a slender body type, and one with a slightly chubby body. The participants were asked to indicate their preference. Results showed that the participants entering the restaurant preferred the chubby body type more while satiated men preferred the thinner or slender body types. It was also found that the relation between experimental conditions and the choices of the body type was mediated by men’s hunger scores.
