Traditionally, multinational enterprises provided middle and top management from the mother country. They would only hire entry-level employees, such as workers, from the domestic country to control the subsidiary. However, local managers benefit from a shared background and culture with the local employees. Local managers can communicate and cooperate more effectively and smoothly with local employees than foreign mangers can. Therefore, multinational enterprises are increasingly selecting middle and top management from the local market. In this study, we aimed to determine the decision factors that influence the selection of local middle and top management from the perspective of human capital. We attempt to help multinational enterprises to choose and hire middle and top management from local markets. We first identified four dimensions and fourteen criteria according to the literature using the modified Delphi method. Then, DANP (decision making and trial evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL)-based analytic network process) was employed to determine the weights of each criterion or sub-criterion. Academic experts and top managers in multinational enterprises (Taiwanese companies in Vietnam) provided their opinions for data analysis. The results showed that positive psychological capital, managerial competencies, integration, and professional competencies were the four important factors that multinational enterprises consider when they select middle and top management from the local market. We further discussed the theoretical and practical implications of the results.

Avoiding food waste has become an important development trend nowadays, and the concept of sustainable cooking is becoming more and more important. How to integrate the concept of surplus food into the catering industry is, in reality, a topic of concern in all walks of life. This study discusses the indicators of professional competence that kitchen staff should have in cooking, from the perspective of surplus food. In this study, literature review, interviews, and the modified Delphi method were used to evaluate the importance of the indicators. After three rounds of the Delphi method analysis by 22 experts, the indicators of the professional culinary competence of kitchen staff, with regard to surplus food, were summarized in the results. The research results showed that there are a total of 58 indicators in professional culinary competence, which are divided into the following four dimensions: 13 items were knowledge competence indicators, 13 items were attitude competence indicators, 23 items were skills competence indicators and 9 items were problem and difficulty indicators. Among them, attitude was the most important indicator, followed by knowledge and skills.

Corrugated box printing machines are precision equipment produced by markedly few manufacturers. They involve high investment cost and risk. Having a corrugated box precision printing machine (CBPPM) supplier with a good reputation enables a corrugated box manufacturer to maintain its competitive advantage. Accordingly, establishing an effective CBPPM supplier selection model is crucial for corrugated box manufacturers. This study established a two-stage CBPPM supplier selection model. The first stage involved the use of a modified Delphi method to construct a supplier selection hierarchy with five criteria and 14 subcriteria. In the second stage, an analytic network process was employed to calculate the weights of criteria and subcriteria and to determine the optimal supplier. According to the results, the five criteria in the model, in descending order of importance, are quality, commitment, cost, service attitude, and reputation. This model can provide insights for corrugated box manufacturers formulating their CBPPM supplier selection strategy.

Sudden environmental pollution accidents (SEPAs) in small towns are characterized by high uncertainty, complex evolution, and fast spread speed, and they cause serious harm to a wide geographic range. Thus, SEPAs greatly challenge the emergency management systems of enterprises and governments. Therefore, improving the emergency capacity of small towns (ECST) to withstand SEPAs deserves more attention. In this study, the evolution mechanism of SEPAs is systematically analyzed, revealing the interactions among various situational elements in the SEPA occurrence process. Then, an evaluation index system of the ECST response to SEPAs is constructed based on four dimensions: monitoring and early warning capacity, preparedness and mitigation capacity, response, and recovery capacity. The system includes 68 indicators and covers the key stages of the SEPA life cycle. Finally, an evaluation model of the ECST to SEPAs is proposed based on the analytic network process method, and the small town of Jiangyin City is selected as a case study for empirical evaluation. The proposed evaluation model considers the interactions and interdependent feedback between indexes, effectively improving the accuracy and scientific nature of the evaluation results. Thus, this model provides a solid decision-making reference for governments and a quantitative theoretical basis for the formulation of measures targeted at SEPAs.

Background: Many specialties utilize procedural performance checklists as an aid to teach residents and other learners. Procedural checklists ensure that the critical steps of the desired procedure are performed in a specified manner every time. Valid measures of competency are needed to evaluate learners and ensure a standard quality of care. The objective of this study was to employ the modified Delphi method to derive a procedural checklist for use during placement of ultrasound-guided femoral arterial access. Methods: A 27-item procedural checklist was provided to 14 experts from three acute care specialties. Using the modified Delphi method, the checklist was serially modified based on expert feedback. Results: Three rounds of the study were performed resulting in a final 23-item checklist. Each item on the checklist received at least 70% expert agreement on its inclusion in the final checklist. Conclusion: A procedural performance checklist was created for ultrasound-guided femoral arterial access using the modified Delphi method. This is an objective tool to assist procedural training and competency assessment in a variety of clinical and educational settings.

Abstract. This study explores the best reporting form as a representation of waqf accountability through nazhir’s perspectives, i.e. waqf institutions in Indonesia. The method used in this study is the Analytic Network Process combined with Delphi. The results show that financial statements obtained from the first rank as the best reporting form. However, the waqf institutions could have difficulties in delivering a high-quality financial statement since there is a lack of understanding about the new waqf accounting standard that will be applied in 2021. The development of a comprehensive and down to earth guidance is crucial in helping the institutions apply the standard, with a help line as a backup. Continuous education and certification are also useful to enhance the skills of human resources in the waqf institutions concerning waqf management and accountability reporting. Keywords: Waqf Accountability; Waqf Reporting; Nazhir; ANP; Delphi method Abstrak.
