Evaluation of land-use suitability can prevent problems, such as environmental disruption, wastage of resources, and ecological disruption, when unsuitable tourism-based exploration is undertaken in an area. This study summarizes a novel concept and proposes the idea of wellness tourism, which constitutes health preservation, sports and recovery, medical healing, and aged nursing, integrated with Chinese culture. A spatial suitability evaluation system for wellness tourism was developed in a mountain area via the integration of the analytic network process-Delphi. As wellness tourism activities diversified, land suitability was assigned to four kinds of wellness tourism activities, while considering their unique requirements. Comparative analysis and five-degree suitable maps of four kinds of activities revealed that Yining City and its peripheral localities have the potential of functioning as a comprehensive and national wellness tourist destination. The counties of Horgos, Huocheng, Qapqal, Zhaosu, Tekes, Tokkuztara, and Narat should make full use of their strengths, as they have the advantage of catering to different wellness tourism activities. This paper discusses some conceptual aspects of wellness tourism, provides an example for the selection of potential areas for wellness tourism in the mountainous regions of China, and provides baseline information that can support the development of wellness tourism.

In order to improve airport safety management system (SMS) performance, an evaluation system is required to improve on current shortcomings and maximize safety. This study suggests the integration of the DEMATEL and ANP methods in decision making processes by analyzing causal relations between the relevant criteria and taking effective analysis-based decision. The DEMATEL method builds on the ANP method in identifying the interdependencies between criteria. The input data consists of questionnaire data obtained online and then stored in an online database. Furthermore, the questionnaire data is processed using DEMATEL and ANP methods to obtain the results of determining the relationship between criteria and criteria that need to be evaluated. The study cases on this evaluation system were Adi Sutjipto International Airport, Yogyakarta (JOG); Ahmad Yani International Airport, Semarang (SRG); and Adi Sumarmo International Airport, Surakarta (SOC). The integration grades SMS performance criterion weights in a descending order as follow: safety and destination policy, safety risk management, healthcare, and safety awareness. Sturges' formula classified the results into nine grades. JOG and SMG airports were in grade 8, while SOG airport was in grade 7.

The growing imbalance in regional innovation development has become an urgent issue in China’s strategy to build an innovative country. To enrich the regional innovation capacity evaluation system, scientifically assess regional innovation capacity, and explore available pathways to improve regional innovation capacity, this paper introduces a multiattribute decision-making method for evaluating regional innovation capacity. First, a random forest model and the DEMATEL-based analytic network process (DANP) method are applied to calculate the weights of the evaluation attributes. Second, the multiobjective optimization by the ratio analysis method based on the maximum and minimum (MOORA-min-max method) is used to calculate the evaluation attribute gap ratios and regional innovation capacity of each region. Finally, the limitations of regional innovation development are identified based on the evaluation attribute gap ratios and the critical influence strength roadmap (CISR) to explore the regional innovation capacity improvement pathways. The results show that “output capacity of R&D personnel in universities and research institutes” is the most fundamental evaluation attribute in the regional innovation capacity evaluation, while “output efficiency of R&D funds in universities and research institutes” is the most influential evaluation attribute. Research in Sichuan and Inner Mongolia reveals that regions need to identify critical constraints in four aspects: knowledge creation, knowledge acquisition, enterprise innovation, and innovation environment, to improve regional innovation capacity.

Developments in environmental issues in the last few years have been forcing manufacturing companies to improve their environmental performances. Many firms developed integrated relationships with their suppliers to increase their environmental performance and to decrease their hazardous effects on the environment. Then, selecting suitable and green suppliers in the supply chain has become a key strategic consideration. A performance evaluation system for green suppliers is necessary to determine the suitability of suppliers to cooperate with the firm. Therefore, in this study, a model for evaluating green performance of suppliers is proposed, and a hybrid multicriteria decision making model is developed in order to evaluate green performance of the suppliers. The analytical network process technique is applied to handle the relationships and dependence of selection criteria and subcriteria and determine weights of the criteria. The technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution is used to sequence the suppliers for ideal solution of the suppliers’ green performance evaluation problem. After a comprehensive literature survey, evaluation criteria of green performance for suppliers are determined. Finally, green performance of 18 suppliers of an automobile company was evaluated by this model. These 18 suppliers manufacture chassis and its components.

Green buildings are a crucial environmentally friendly component for sustainable human habitation and for the preservation of a healthy ecosystem. This study proposes a novel hybrid model to explore the influential relationship of various indicators and their importance for a green building evaluation system. First, a green building index system is established based on a review of recent literature on green building evaluation systems. Then, the decision making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) technique is utilized to determine the influential relationship among the criteria. Finally, a novel best worst method (BWM)-based analytic network process (ANP) model is applied to determine the influential weight of the criteria. The result indicated that the top five ranked criteria are all classified within the two dimensions of waste reduction and energy saving. An empirical case study of an example in Taiwan is carried out to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed model. Management implications are also provided.

Wind turbine selection is an evaluation problem involving many factors, such as technology, economy, society, etc., and there exist internal dependencies and circular relationships among these factors. This increases the complexity of the selection problem. At the same time, with the development of wind power technology, the types of wind turbines on the market are increasing. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a scientific and comprehensive evaluation system to guide the selection work. This paper extends the traditional indicator system, selecting a total of twelve evaluation indicators from three aspects: operation reliability, economy, and supplier cooperation. The selected indicators are defined in detail to clarify the relationship between them. Then the triangular fuzzy number is introduced to accurately reflect the preference information obtained from experts, and a fuzzy analytical network process (FANP) model for wind turbine unit selection is constructed by combining fuzzy preference programming (FPP) with analytic network process (ANP). In the end, a case study in China is carried out. Results show that the 2.5 W unit produced by Goldwind obtains the best comprehensive evaluation value, which is consistent with the expanding market share permanent magnet direct-drive wind turbines. This paper could provide references for future wind turbine selection questions.

A approach based on Analytic Network Process (ANP) and fuzzy theory is proposed in order to improve the evaluation system, which is comprised of correlative indexes, of product conceptual design schemes, as well as to select the best scheme and guide the continuous improvement of it. With the application of the concept of fuzzy measure, a new algorithm with ANP is introduced to replace Shapley algorithm to get the fuzzy measures. The interaction values among arbitrary number of evaluation indexes are calculated by plugging the fuzzy measures into the interaction index formula, which is deduced from Shapley value formula and fuzzy reasoning. Then according to the interaction values, the best scheme selected by calculating Choquet integral is improved further. Finally a case study of aged mobile phone design evaluation is conducted to demonstrate the application of this method.

Evaluate the learning that will be given or given to diagnose success and failure in understanding teaching materials. Failure to provide learning can be caused by the use of inappropriate teaching or media methods, and difficult language to convey. By applying information technology in evaluating learning materials, a web-based evaluation system can be developed to conduct assessments and as a way to improve the quality of learning materials with certain criteria. So that the problem of failure in the learning process can be known based on the learning material used. This study integrates the DEMATEL and ANP methods that support decision making by evaluating lecturer learning material to students. Based on the problems and explanations described earlier, the use of the DEMATEL and ANP methods is expected to assist in evaluating learning materials with the aim of always trying to provide good learning materials based on the right factors or criteria. The results of making an evaluation system aim to assess the suitability of learning materials with the criteria used as further improvement efforts and to find out where the lack of success in learning. Thus it can be sustainable between the objectives and the final results of teaching.
