This article presents the results of research on the effect of the customer’s gender on the tenure choice (ownership or tenancy) on the housing market. In the study, an attempt has been made to investigate whether there is a significant role of women in making decisions in this market. The survey was conducted among residents of two cities—Olsztyn (Poland) and Vilnius (Lithuania). The obtained answers were subjected to a multi-dimensional categorical and quantitative analysis. The results showed, among others, that women generally have greater decision-making autonomy in residential issues than men, with Lithuanian women doing this much more often than Polish women. However, it should be noted that the dominant decision-making model in the housing market is the model of joint decisions taken by men and women. The results of the conducted analysis broaden the existing knowledge of the functioning of the housing market and may support the implementation of the pro-social and pro-sustainable spatial development policy of the given territorial unit. The results may also contribute to more sustainable development of enterprises in the housing construction sector. This is an important issue in a climate of intense competition between “providers” of flats and the gradual introduction of the idea of competition between them and the social environment.

The nations take various strategies in exposure to different developments and phenomena and impact on foreign and internal policies of countries in international scene proportional to their internal and external conditions and rivals and at international arena. What US implemented after September 11 Event and targeted accusation finger toward Taliban and Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan is deemed as a type of strategy that has occurred in created nostalgic climate together with hasty decision making and negligence to domestic issues in Afghan Community while their output was to take different and even paradoxical strategies in this crisis-stricken region since 1980s. In this article that has been written in order to analyze US Post September- 11 Strategies in Afghanistan this basic question will be answered that how changes in US macro policies influenced in orientation of diplomacy of this country and why this country has adapted different policies in occupation of Afghanistan. Afterwards, it is deduced according to the given findings from librarian data collection method that the constant changes in US strategy in Afghanistan were due to overlooking of domestic issues and historic, ethnic, cultural, political, and ideological complexities of this country that has resulted in degradation of US position in world scene and its failure in suppression of Taliban. This article has been excerpted from my PhD treatise under title of ‘The role of United States in the regional crisis (e.g. Afghan and Iraqi crises) and the rise of revolutionary and radicalism on the emergence of international terrorism’.

In this paper several optimization strategies for decision making in presence of uncertainties and discreet number of alternatives are considered. A new optimization criterion is proposed and applied for all strategies. In order to illustrate the decision making process, assembly of a mechanical device – hydraulic gear pump is investigated. All optimization strategies are applied, evaluated, compared and analyzed for it before a final decision regarding the technology selection is reached. As a main optimization criterion it is proposed to be used minimum combined cost of the required labor and necessary equipment. In this case study the uncertain parameters are: volume of production and margin of the salaries. The goal is to improve on working conditions and to consider the number of employs. This is done in according to the social trends of the strategy "Europe 2020".

"Molly Monster" is a perfect example of preparing the preschool audience for openness and respect for difference, tolerance, dialogue and listening, cooperation, joint decision making and wise acceptance of change. The film, showing how the main character, Molly, eagerly and joyfully awaits a big change in her family life - the birth of a sister or a brother, and emphasizes the importance of family ties, can therefore inspire to accept changes and adapt to new situations. In addition, the film presents a land where every inhabitant is very different - in size or physical appearance, and the story teaches that being different does not disturb cooperation, mutual help or making joint decisions and taking actions. The film presents an open approach to traditional social roles, emphasizes the role of self-confidence, but also the importance of admitting one's mistake and freedom in decision making.

ABSTRACTThis article analyzes the social and ethical responsibility of the company, which not only generates jobs and pay taxes to create profit, but also actively participates in society, since the State has a greater demand than it can supply and companies can play the role of agents of great transformations in the life of individuals. The paper provides a multiple-experts Fuzzy-TOPSIS decision-making model for the selection among maintenance contractors based on the quality of tendering documents. The study introduces a set of selection criteria utilizing benefit and cost criteria from literature. The proposed model aggregates subjective linguistic assessments of multiple experts that express their opinions on the degree of importance of criteria and allows multiple decisionmakers to evaluate the compliance of contractors’ documents. For a case study, the model is applied to select among contractors tendering to maintain the heavy-duty cranes of an international steel company from literature. Several decision-making scenarios are investigated, and major changes in the final decision are observed. The changes in obtained results illustrate the need to better address uncertainties in rating and tendering an overqualified contractor at a higher cost.

The central role of R&D centers in the advancement of technology within industrial enterprises is undeniable and clearly affects their strategies, their competitiveness and their business sustainability. R&D centers assume responsibility for technology recognition, collection, acquisition, development and transition. Among their activities, the efficient choice of emerging technologies in the Technology Management Process is becoming a real challenge. In such heterogeneous scenarios, Multiple Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) models are commonly proposed as an appropriate decision-making approach. Multiple research works address the selection of particular technologies in industrial applications, but very few references can be found related to research institutions, and R&D centers in particular. Therefore, a decision-making model is provided in this study following the MIVES multi criteria method for the assessment of one or more technologies. The model is then applied to two case studies related to the selection process of new technologies at a Spanish R&D Center specialized in manufacturing.

This article investigates the effects of services proposed by private developers on buyers’ psychological attitudes in the decision-making process for off-plan purchases. We propose a new typology of services based on perceived value. We conducted a field experiment with real buyers who purchased an off-plan dwelling in France, and we measured the causal effects on developer reputation of four service intensity indexes that offer ‘visualisation’, ‘customisation’, ‘value enhancement’ and ‘interaction’ services. The results confirm the homebuyer-based typology of services and highlight the mediating roles of two types of attitudes, satisfaction with and trust in the developer, to explain the influence on developer reputation. Services designed to improve the perception of the quality of the dwelling itself (visualisation and customisation benefits) are less effective, and those intended to create a favourable purchase context (value enhancement and interactional benefits) are more influential, emphasising the benevolent role expected from developers.
