Sustainable human resource management practices represent one of the main organizational strategy to survive and to prosper within the fast-moving current scenario. According to this view, sustainability is strictly linked to the consideration of the unique and distinctive value that each human resource means for organizations. The recent COVID19 pandemic is having a serious impact on organizations and on their employees, it is profoundly changing the working modalities, mainly introducing smart working practices that were showed to have significant consequences on workers’ wellbeing. This study aims to investigate employees’ perception of sustainable HRM in the frame of the COVID19 emergency, exploring if and to what extent perceptions of involvement and organizational support together with individual coping strategies associated with organizational change could influence positive organizational behaviors, namely organizational engagement and extra-role behavior. The research involved 549 participants who completed a self-report online questionnaire encompassing psycho-social measures of the abovementioned variables. Results confirmed the important role played by sustainable HRM practices both for the capitalization of human resources and of organizational performance in a time of great uncertainty and global crisis. Implications for theory and HRM practice development were also discussed.

The objective of the present study is to examine the impact of human resource management (HRM) practices on organizational performance. Knowledge management (KM) practices as a moderator in the relationship between HRM practices and organizational performance are studied by developing a conceptual model. Using a structured survey instrument, the data were collected from 979 employees from 10 hospitals in the southern part of India (Tiruchirappalli District of Tamil Nadu). After thoroughly checking the instrument’s measurement properties using the LISREL, hierarchical regression was performed to test the hypotheses. The results support (a) compensation and rewards, performance appraisal and learning culture that are positively and significantly related to organizational performance; (b) recruitment and selection, training and development that are not significantly related to organizational performance; and (c) KM practices that moderate the relationship between (a) training and development and organizational performance, and (b) learning culture and organizational performance. Finally, the implications for HRM and KM are discussed.

The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of human resource management practices on organizational performance. In this study a total of 100 managers of manufacturing firms in Kosovo from public and private sectors have responded to the survey. The survey questionnaire had contained 39 items covering selected HRM practices and organizational performance. Our empirical results show that managers of manufacturing firms in Kosovo recognize the importance of employees in their organization and apply practices to manage them effectively. The outcome of correlation analysis provides evidence that HRM practices positively and significantly influence organizational performance. Recruitment and selection practices show the strongest positive association with organizational performance (rho = 0.905) compared to other practices. Regarding to our findings we suggest that with a good recruiting and selection, the organization will fill with a group of potentially qualified candidates. Also, companies should continuously train and develop and involve their employees as they are viewed as the most important resources source of competitive advantage.

Management scholars and practitioners alike have become increasingly interested in learning more about the ability of certain ‘progressive’ or ‘high-performance’ human resource management (HRM) practices to enhance organizational effectiveness. There is growing evidence to suggest that the contribution of various HRM practices to impact firm performance may be synergistic in effect yet contingent on a number of contextual factors, including workplace climate. A contingency theory perspective suggests that in order to be effective, HMR policies and practices must be consistent with other aspects of the organization, including its environment. This paper reports on empirical findings from research that examines the relationship between HRM practices, workplace climate and perceptions of organizational performance, in a large sample of Canadian nursing homes. Data from 283 nursing homes were collected by means of a mail survey that included questions on HRM practices, programmes, and policies, on human resource aspects of workplace climate, as well as a variety of indicators that include employee, customer/resident and facility measures of organizational performance. Results derived from ordered probit analysis suggest that nursing homes in our sample which had implemented more ‘progressive’ HRM practices and which reported a workplace climate that strongly values employee participation, empowerment and accountability tended to be perceived to generally perform better on a number of valued organizational outcomes. Nursing homes in our sample that performed best overall were found to be more likely to not only have implemented more of these HRM practices, but also to report having a workplace climate that reflects the seminal value that it places on its human resources. This finding is consistent with the conclusion that simply introducing HRM practices or programmes, in the absence of an appropriately supportive workplace climate, will be insufficient to attain optimal organizational performance.

The impact of human resource management (HRM) practices on organizational performance has been subject of discourse among social scientists from a wide range of disciplines in the last two decades. But unfortunately, very insufficient number of studies in this area has been conducted in Nigeria and other developing countries. This study was undertaken to fill this obvious research gap. The author applied descriptive method and collected the data via a survey of 164 respondents in Nigerias Oil and Gas Industry. Data collected were analyzed using Pearson product moment correlation and t-test analysis. The study found that there is a significant relationship between HRM practices and organizational performance. As predicted, the study revealed that human resource management practices exert positive and statistically significant impact on organizational performance. Requisite conclusion and recommendations were provided in the light of theoretical and empirical findings. With this study, we hope to contribute to a better understanding of the role of HRM practices in creating and sustaining organizational performance, specifically in the Nigerian context.

<p>Human resource management (HRM) practices entail policies, systems, and methods that govern workplace employees. They are the processes or functions applied to manage workers and direct them in an organization towards development. Some of the HRM practices include recruitment, screening, selection, development, training, and rewarding of staff. A number of studies to investigate the interaction between HRM practices and organizational performance have been conducted. Many of these studies have been done in the manufacturing or health sectors, with very few having been carried out in private secondary schools. This background is what has necessitated this study in order to investigate the effect of human resource management practices on the performance of private secondary schools in Nyeri County, in Kenya. The objectives of the study were to determine the effect of recruitment, staff development and reward practices on organizational productivity and performance. The study used four theories i.e. Resource-Based View, the Social Exchange Theories, McGregor’s theory X and Y, and the Human Capital to support it. The study targeted a population of 440 subjects. This included principals and their deputies, departmental heads, and classroom teachers of the private secondary schools in Nyeri County. The study adopted descriptive research design. The study applied stratified random sampling technique to pick schools for the research. Interview schedule was used for collecting data from principals, while data from the teachers was obtained through the utilization of questionnaires. The reliability of instruments in this study was established through Cronbach’s alpha, while they were validated through content, construct, and discussion with the supervisor. Descriptive statistics were utilized in the analysis quantitative data with the aid of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) Version 20 to generate them. Qualitative data was analysed by thematic analysis, content analysis and discussion. The main purpose of this study was designed to explore and compare Human Resource Management practices and their impact on organizational performance in Indian Public Sector Banks. Human Resource Management is very important for banks because banking is a service industry. Research suggests that service quality has been increasingly recognized as a crucial factor that determines the level of success of any business Human input is the single largest input to the banking industry. The level of efficiency/productivity of this input is reflected in the quality of service offered by the banks to its customers, as also in its ultimate growth, productivity and profitability. Human Resource Management Practices has been studied extensively in Multinational companies, education sector and manufacturing sector. However only a few research has been conducted in banking industry. Even these researchers have not compared Human Resource Management Practices Public Sector banks in Jammu and Kashmir. The research was based on self-administered questionnaire survey of total 266 employees. It consists of 11 managers and 33 subordinates from PNB  and 18 managers and 54 subordinates from SBI. The main HRM practices studied were General climate, OCTAPACE culture, Selection, job definition, career planning, training, performance appraisal and compensation. The data were analyzed statistically and finding revealed that HRM practices have huge impact on the organizational performance in banking sector. At the end research also depicted some limitation as well as future research directions.

Purpose This study aims to examine the relationship between human resource management (HRM) practices and informal workplace learning. Design/methodology/approach Data were collected from a sample of 381 employees working as heads of the department of branches in private commercial banks of Bangladesh. Hypotheses were tested by using structural equation modelling-partial least square. Findings Findings of the study revealed that HRM practices such as selective hiring, extensive training, performance appraisal, compensation practices, empowerment and information-sharing, significantly positively related with informal workplace learning. Originality/value Based on the situated learning and organizational support theory, this study is empirically testing how HRM practices influence informal workplace learning.

Human resources are important assets of every organization. Recruitment and selection play an effective role in improving the organizational performance, because recruitment directly is relating with employee engagement. Employee engagement has emerged as a popular organizational concept in recent years. Employee engagement, strangely enough, has been a crucial priority of HR since before the term was using. It has become one of the leading priorities of human resource practitioners and senior managers in the organization today, so employee engagement has generated great deal of attention among many human resource practitioners. In present day, where is large-scale competition in the market, it is necessary for the organization to have engaged workforce for the survival and smooth functioning of the organization. Every organization wants to make the best utilization of its human resources in order to achieve competitive advantage in the market. When employees are engaged in their work, they have good relationships with their co-workers and working environment becomes better, are not only happy in their job, but also translate that satisfaction into higher productivity and profitability of the organization. High levels of engagement promote retention of talent, foster customer loyalty and improve organizational performance and stakeholder value. The paper discusses theoretical approaches to the significant concept and phenomenon of today – employee engagement and the factors behind it. In addition, the paper examined the type of employee engagement, problematic of individual and organizational engagement that affects organizational decisions. The aim of article is to identify the distinctive features of two types of engagement in the scientific literature employee engagement and organizational engagement, also connections reflecting the possible role of human resource management practices in the process of management of employee engagement. The purpose implies tasks: to reveal the essence of engagement and the factors that determine it ; also is presented a theoretical model of interfaces. The research methodology is the theoretical modeling of the phenomenon employee engagement from a human resource management perspective. The article is presenting in different sections such as meaning and concept of employee engagement, importance and factors influencing employee engagement and impact of employee engagement on organizational performance. The article consists of three logically interconnected parts. The introduction justifies relevance topics. The main part provides a review of literary sources, in which the authors examine the typology of engagement, distinguish types such as job engagement and organizational engagement. This section analyzes the relationship between characteristics and the influence of their design on employee engagement. This section also analyzes the conditions of formation and the results of the manifestation of employee engagement at the individual organizational levels, describes the connection of various aspects of this state with the practice of human resources management. In the final part, is given a theoretical model developed by the author – the main result of the article. It is a hypothetical model of the structure of employee engagement and how various human resources management practices shape employee engagement and how individual engagement of an employee transforms into a competitive advantage of organization. Data sources for the theoretical study described in this article are publications on the topic of engagement of such highly rated publications like Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology and The International Journal of Human Resource Management. The value of the results. This paper may serve as the basis for further research in the field of employee engagement generally and individual additional variable components. Research conclusions may have be used to build the organizational policy of the company in relation to the system human resource management.

HRM practices in Nepalese organizations are undergoing continual transition, moving from former personnel concepts to modern HRM policies and strategies. This study focuses on assessing the human resource practices in the manufacturing and service sector institutions in Nepal. This study also attempts to find out the relationship between the adoptions of such practices in their performance. The correlation results suggested that there is negative association between HRM practices and employee turnover whereas there is positive association between HRM practices and productivity. The regression result suggested that there is a negative association between HRM practices and employee turnover whereas there is positive association between HRM practices and productivity. At present many Nepalese business organizations are found using team based job design that fosters the specialization as well as the synergy in the team assignment.
