The COVID-19 pandemic led to the closure of universities and colleges throughout the world, with the hope that public health officials’ suggestion of social distancing would help flatten the sickness curve and reduce overall mortality from the outbreak. However, the Learning Management System (LMS) is the perfect approach for fostering the dedication of students to content in education like sustainability. Previous studies have seldom investigated an integrated approach in the context of LMS in industrialized nations. In addition, this paper aims to include a literature analysis of recent research conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic in the area of LMS usage, as well as to investigate variables predicting the usage of LMS by higher education students during the COVID-19 pandemic for students’ engagement. On the basis of LMS usage data obtained from an online survey, structural equation modeling (SEM) and route analysis were utilized to verify the research model, a survey consisting of student LMS users King Saud University. The findings showed that the desire of students to use LMS had beneficial effects during the COVID-19 pandemic on learning as sustainability engagement. Also, student-perceived closeness, peer references and subjective well-being are favorably associated with the perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness, this, in turn, influences students’ intentions to utilize, which, in turn, effects the usage of LMS for student engagement during COVID-19.

In recent years, there has been a growing increase in using Learning Management System (LMS) by universities. However, its utilization by students is limited in Malaysia. The main purpose of the present study is to develop and test a model that predicts LMS utilization by Malaysian higher education students. Based on the Technology Acceptance Model, the study investigated the relationships among six constructs (system interactivity, technical support, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, behavioral intention to use and LMS use) through structural equation modelling. The participants were 216 undergraduate students from a local university in Malaysia. The result of the study revealed that system interactivity had a significant effect on perceived usefulness, but not on perceived ease of use; technical support had a significant effect on perceived ease of use, but not on perceived usefulness.

<p>Social media has become a major source of communication and collaboration between individuals and among groups. The current paper investigates the underlying motives of social media adoption. The research identifies various determinants such as perceived connectedness, perceived enjoyment, perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use as the major influencers of social media adoption intention. Using the sample from Saudi Arabia an online survey is conducted. Structural equation modeling has been used to test the proposed relationships. The results reveal that individuals’ perceived connectedness and perceived enjoyment act as stimuli for their social media adoption intention. Moreover, perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness mediate these stimuli and the individuals’ social media adoption intention. The paper concludes with the recommendations for the academicians and the social media designers/developers.</p>

Learning Management System (LMS) is a common platform where students and teachers can interact digitally, most especially in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) institutions. However, it has been discovered over time that most of the distance learners with poor study habits lag behind in its utilization. The purpose of this study was to investigate the Perception of Learning Management System among Distance Learners’ in South-West, Nigeria. Emphasis was on gender and field of study using an adapted Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). This study employed a descriptive research method. Data were collected through the administration of a-validated researcher-adapted questionnaire. Descriptive statistics of mean and standard deviation were used to answer research questions one and two. Inferential statistics of t-test and ANOVA were used to test the hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The research findings indicated that there were significant differences between male and female distance learners in their: perceived usefulness of LMS (p=0.00); perceived ease of use of LMS (p=0.004); in favour of males; there was no significant difference among Sciences, Arts and Social Science distance learners on their perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use of LMS. It was therefore recommended that training and support programs be established to ensure a sustainable use and prevent collapse of LMS in the institutions in respective of distance learners’ gender and field of study.

Teachers in the US have been increasingly adopting mobile devices for teaching, but little research has examined how pre-service teachers perceive mobile device integration in classrooms. To address this issue, the study developed a research model that explained factors affecting pre-service teachers' intention to use mobile devices and the relationship among the factors. A total of 386 pre-service teachers participated in an online survey, and the model was tested using structural equation modeling. The results showed that 72.5% of variances in pre-service teachers' intention to use mobile devices were explained by perceived usefulness and self-efficacy for technology integration jointly, where perceived usefulness was the strongest predictor. The findings also demonstrated that constructivist beliefs and perceived ease of use indirectly influenced pre-service teachers' intention to use mobile devices for teaching.

PurposeThe main purpose of this study is to investigate what affects a customer's decision to use the hotel smartphone applications when he/she makes a room reservation.Design/methodology/approachA total of 266 usable data was collected through an online survey. The research model was tested using confirmatory factor analyses and structural equation modeling.FindingsThis study revealed that perceived usefulness, perceived credibility, perceived equipment risk, and perceived change risk affected customers' intention to book a hotel room using hotel smartphone apps. Perceived ease of use did not have a significant effect on behavioral intention.Originality/valueThis study extended TAM and the existing literature of mobile technology in the lodging industry. This article explored both existing variables and new variables in studying customers' intention to use hotel smartphone apps when booking a hotel room.

This research analyzed the effect of perceived enjoyment, perceived ease of use, and perceived usefulness on the students' satisfaction. The sample in this research was 108 Accounting students. The data were analyzed using PLS-SEM with SmartPLS 2.0. The research results showed that the level of satisfaction of the Google Classroom was affected positively and significantly by the perceived enjoyment, perceived ease of use, and perceived usefulness. Objective - This paper develops a theoretical framework that consists of the factors affecting the work outcomes among educator continuous usage behaviour of Learning Management System (LMS). Methodology/Technique - The conceptual framework is based on the previous literature review and the underpinning theories which are an integral of Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and IS Continuance Model.Perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and confirmation are identified as independent variables; satisfaction and IS continuance intention will be employed as mediating variable; and work outcomes as a dependent variable. Findings - In this study, 13 hypotheses have been proposed based on the conceptual framework outlined. The proposed framework would help the organizations to plan for the potential improvement of the systems and teaching strategies in the context of the LMS, in order to meet the educational goals and to get better learning outcomes. Novelty - Currently, there are very limited empirical researches that have been conducted on educator's outcomes on the post-adoption stage of LMS. Learning management systems have transformed the information delivery mechanism. The present study derives dimensions from technology acceptance model and assesses the association between the faculty's satisfaction, perceived usefulness (PU) and perceived ease of use (PEOU) in a Moodle-based learning management system. The data collection was done using a questionnaire from one hundred and ninety-nine faculty of B-Schools, using Moodle as the LMS. The findings indicate that both ease of use and perceived usefulness are significant predictors of faculty satisfaction from MOODLE LMS. In addition to the aforementioned TAM constructs, the study has measured moderating impact of demographic variables like city, gender and age. These variables are important differentiators in the Indian context, as LMS is a relatively new adoption in Indian education industry. The study reports that although age is a differentiator between two defined groups, it is however not significantly moderating the relationship between PEOU and satisfaction with Moodle. Gender and type of city (metro versus non-metro cities) have significantly moderated the relationship between PEOU and the satisfaction with Moodle. The study also labels constraints in terms of LMS usage and give suggestions towards its effective use. Henceforth, any similar system must incorporate these constructs to improve the satisfaction and adoption of the LMS by instructors.

The outbreak of COVID-19 at the beginning of 2020 has heavily influenced education all around the world. In Vietnam, educational institutes were suspended, and distance learning was conducted to ensure students’ learning process, with distance learning occurring mainly via video conferencing tools (VTCs). The purpose of this paper is to provide data on Vietnamese students’ acceptance of using VCTs in distance learning during the COVID-19 pandemic through an extended technology acceptance model (TAM) and structural equation modeling (SEM) method. This study used the TAM of Venkatesh and Davis. The questionnaire was designed based on Venkatesh and Davis and Salloum et al.’s scale. An online survey with snowball sampling was selected in April. The final dataset consisted of 277 valid records. This data descriptor presented descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviation), internal consistency (Cronbach’s alpha), reliability and validity measures (composite reliability, average value extracted test), and factor loading of items of eight factors: output quality, computer playfulness, subjective norm, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude towards to use, behavioral intention to use, and actual system to use. Results indicated that external factors such as subjective norm and computer playfulness had a significant impact on most TAM constructs. Furthermore, output quality was found to have a positive influence on students’ perceived usefulness and acceptance of VCTs in distance learning.

With the growth of the internet, electronic (online) business has become an important trend in the economy. This study investigates how retailers could enhance their shopping processes and hence help sustain their e-business development. Therefore, we propose a unified information system-consumer behavior (IS-CB) model for online shopping to analyze factors that impact online shopping. We used an online survey to gather data from 633 online customers to test the theoretical model, matching differences using structural equation modeling. Highly influencing factors for the IS-CB online shopping model included perceived value (PV), perceived risk (PR), social factors (SF), perceived ease of use (PEOU), perceived usefulness (PU), online shopping intention, trust, online shopping experience, actual online shopping purchases, entertainment gratification (EG), website irritation (WI), information design (ID), visual design (VD), and navigation design (ND). This study provides important theoretical and practical implications. PV and trust in online shopping can nurture positive attitudes and shopping intentions among online customers. Well-designed websites produce higher levels of trust and reduced WI. Similarly, online shopping sites with better ID, ND, and VD also reduce WI and increase trust. This study fills gaps in previous studies relating to IS and CB and provides explanations for IS and CB constituent impacts on acceptance and use of online shopping. The proposed unified IS-CB explains consumer online shopping patterns for a sustainable e-business.
