Modeling an aquifer provides significant advantages when evaluating and estimating the water resource for its sustainable use. This study focuses on the rural parish Manglaralto, a semi-arid area with a shortage of water, and without supply service by the public network. Still, it has a great demand for supply by the local and floating population (tourism). This has caused the coastal aquifer, which supplies the area’s water, to show signs of overexploitation, and its natural balance is compromised. The aim is to establish a geometric model of the aquifer through geological and geophysical analysis to set sustainable water-use guidelines. The methodology includes: (i) the processing of the current technical and hydrogeological information to know the aquifer’s data; (ii) geometric modeling of the aquifer through the correlation of technical information, using the GeoModeller software; (iii) proposals for the sustainable use of water in the framework of the United Nations’ Agenda 2030. The geometric model results reveal that the aquifer’s thickness varies from 4 m at the head of the river to 30 m at the sea’s mouth. The volume of water is estimated at 13.6 Hm3. The sustainable-use proposals ensure that more than half of the population receives the community company’s service. More than 40% of the territory is a protected area, and 64% of the population has sewerage service. This geometric model is a visual contribution that allows us to know the aquifer’s shape and establishes guidelines that help strengthen the water supply’s development and sustainability over time.

Now-a-days the significance of security has been greater than before because of the fact that data has been accessed and transferred through public network. The data which has been transferred could be sniffed which may be a loss for us. When data is transferred in to public network we need confidentiality, integration and authentication. In this review paper we will discuss all these factors that keep our data safe enough. In order to provide this factor a site-to-site virtual private network has been designed which provide more security to data and made the public network into private network. The virtual private network hides the source and destination address as well as it also hides the internal network so that our network would be safe enough.

With the Virtual Private Network (VPN), PT Finroll can do business in secure environment to their partners. The methodologies used in this research are data collection that was started by surveying, interviewing, and analyzing the current network topology, performance and design requirements that support network design. From these results, PT Finroll can increase productivity and performance from competition in their business. In addition, with this research company has a better ability to increase their competitiveness in present and the future.

The process of school inclusion for people with disabilities is a recent development, especially for the deaf individuals, so the study of how this inclusion process occurs and the teaching of Sciences/Biology for these individuals is still incipient. The objective of this work was to investigate how science/biology teaching takes place for deaf students in the city of Cornélio Procópio-PR and what difficulties are encountered by the students, teachers, and sign language interpreters in the scenario of school inclusion. To reach this goal, we interviewed teachers and interpreters who work in elementary and middle schools of the public network that attend deaf students in Cornélio Procópio. The results of the interviews demonstrated that all those involved in this process face difficulties, the interpreters indicate language as an obstacle to the interpretation of Sciences and Biology classes, since Brazilian Sign Language presents a deficit of lexicons in relation to the Portuguese Language. On the other hand, the main difficulty for the teachers is the lack of preparation to work in classes which include deaf people, jeopardizing not only their interaction with the students, but also the teaching of Sciences and Biology.

AbstractThe geometric model accuracy is crucial for product design. More complex surfaces are represented by the approximation methods. On the contrary, the approximation methods reduce the design quality. A new alternative calculation method is proposed. The new method can calculate both conical sections and more complex curves. The researcher is able to get an analytical solution and not a sequence of points with the destruction of the object semantics. The new method is based on permutation and other symmetries and should have an origin in the internal properties of the space. The classical method consists of finding transformation parameters for symmetrical conic profiles, however a new procedure for parameters of linear transformations determination was acquired by another method. The main steps of the new method are theoretically presented in the paper. Since a double result is obtained in most stages, the new calculation method is easy to verify. Geometric modeling in the AutoCAD environment is shown briefly. The new calculation method can be used for most complex curves and linear transformations. Theoretical and practical researches are required additionally.

For the design of surfaces in architecture, as a rule, universal techniques developed for other technical industries are used. First of all, these are general kinematic surfaces and interpolation cubic splines for modeling complex piecewise smooth surfaces. The authors propose to use the fourth degree inerodifferential spline developed by them for problems of geometric modeling of architectural forms. For calculations and constructions on a computer, the proposed spline is not much more complicated than traditional cubic splines, since it has one additional parameter - a coefficient. However, this allows you to locally control the shape of a curve or surface during design, that is, to change the shape in individual areas without affecting other areas. The article proposes a method for constructing a geometric model of the kinematic surface of dependent sections with a fourth degree parabola as a generator. When using cubic splines as a guide, the surface is a 3 × 4 non-uniform (heterogeneous) spline. The article shows that the surface on the basis of the proposed mathematical apparatus can be composite piecewise-smooth. A particular case of surface design is considered on the example of creating a model of the surface of the facade of a residential building according to the existing concept. The algorithm can be easily programmed and added as a tool to existing CAD systems.

A three-dimensional (3D) geometric model for predicting muscle forces in the shoulder complex is proposed. The model was applied throughout the range of arm elevation in the scapular plan. In vitro testing has been performed on 13 cadaveric shoulders. The objectives were to determine homogeneous values of physiological parameters of shoulder muscles and to locate sites of muscular attachment to any bone of the shoulder complex. Muscular fiber lengths, lengths of contractile element (CE), and muscle volumes were measured, corresponding physiological cross-sectional area (PCSA) were calculated, and force/length muscle relations were found. An in vivo biplanar radiography was performed on five volunteers. The photogrammetric reconstruction of bone axes and landmarks were coupled with a geometric modeling of bones and muscle sites of attachment. Muscular paths were drawn and changes in lengths during movement have been estimated. Directions of muscle forces are the same as that of muscular path at the point of attachment to bone. Magnitudes of muscular forces were found from muscle lengths coupled with force/length relations. Passive forces were directly determined contrary to active muscle forces. A resulting active muscle force is calculated from balancing weight and passive forces at each articular center. Active muscle forces were calculated by distributing the resulting force among active muscles based on the muscular PCSA values.

The project “Promoting Digital Inclusion in Public Schools Through Integration of Innovative Low-Cost Technologies in the Teaching of STEM Subjects” has been carried out by the Remote Experimentation Laboratory (RExLab), Federal University of Santa Catarina, since 2008. This project has trained 363 teachers from 6 schools, since it is an initiative of technology integration in the basic education of the Brazilian public-school system. The present study focuses on the benefits of the project in relation to the teachers involved in its scope. The positive results acquired by the project over the years demonstrate that the integration of technologies in education by teachers in the public network is a practice to be encouraged.
