This article attempts to verify the relevance of building a network of energy knowledge hub centres to tackle the priority objective in enhancing energy efficiency and energy saving management in higher education institutions. It is emphasized that the issues of careful and wise use of fuels and energy resources challenge more government efforts, active use of advanced projects to manage energy saving and energy efficiency through the integrated use of different energy sources. The study argues that to identify the potential for energy saving, setting regulatory indicators of energy consumption, determining the key energy saving measures and target objects in the public sector where energy saving programs are planned to be implemented, there is a need to conduct energy surveys with further developing of energy passports for buildings. In the frameworks of this study, the following research methods were used: abstract and logical analysis – to interpret the essence of energy saving concepts for universities; systemic approach – to identify the specifics of energy saving projects implementation in universities; in-depth analysis and synthesis – to forecast the university development priority area of the "Energy efficiency and energy saving"; system, structural, comparative and statistical analyses – to assess the energy consumption in universities; economic and statistical methods – to evaluate the level and the dynamics of the energy sources use before and after the implementation of project activities; graph-based and analytical methods – to facilitate visual representation and schematic presentation of forecasts for further development of energy efficiency and energy saving systems. The study offers a mechanism to shape a network of energy knowledge hub centres to forecast a priority development area of energy efficiency and energy saving programs in higher education institutions along with providing an overview on the process of energy saving based on energy knowledge hub centres by carrying out the following tasks: project identification, scanning, energy audit, implementation of an action plan, and monitoring. It has been verified that to enhance the energy supply system in the university buildings, the following objectives should be attained: using the energy knowledge hub to forecast the university energy efficiency and energy saving programme, implementing an automated individual heating station with weather regulation and installing new radiator heaters.

The article seeks to discuss the issues of internationalization for higher education institutions that arose with the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, in particular, the suspension of both student and staff academic mobility. However, academic mobility is the fundamental premise for the internationalization of higher education where students who cross borders with the desire to change their lives and the strive for better prospects are the most critical element of this mobility. The mobility of all the education process participants has become an important driver in ensuring and promoting education transparency and the access to quality education for everyone. In fact, within the past six months, prospective students are increasingly changing their intentions to study abroad, or defer their enrolment plans for subsequent years. The aim of this paper is to explore possible solutions for further implementation of internationalization principles into all university's activities framework under the quarantine and post-quarantine period. The research findings from the in-depth analysis of a range of higher education institution performances have revealed that one of the most promising areas to enhance university internationalization is a shift from actual to virtual mobility which is based on communication within the information and educational environment. In particular, the design of new competitive online courses in English and their large-scale promotion on the international market is another priority objective for internationalization during the quarantine. Apparently, University positioning in a virtual environment is a crucial factor to build attractiveness and competitiveness of higher education institutions in the global settings.

Purpose The increasing competition among higher education institutions (HEI) has led students to conduct a more in-depth analysis to choose where to study abroad. Since students are usually unable to visit each HEIs before making their decision, they are strongly influenced by what is written by former international students (IS) on the internet. HEIs also benefit from such information online. The purpose of this paper is to provide an understanding of the drivers of HEIs success online. Design/methodology/approach Due to the increasing amount of information published online, HEIs have to use automatic techniques to search for patterns instead of analysing such information manually. The present paper uses text mining (TM) and sentiment analysis (SA) to study online reviews of IS about their HEIs. The paper studied 1938 reviews from 65 different business schools with Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business accreditation. Findings Results show that HEIs may become more attractive online if they financially support students cost of living, provide courses in English, and promote an international environment. Research limitations/implications Despite the use of a major platform with a broad number of reviews from students around the world, other sources focussed on other types of HEIs may have been used to reinforce the findings in the current paper. Originality/value The study pioneers the use of TM and SA to highlight topics and sentiments mentioned in online reviews by students attending HEIs, clarifying how such opinions are correlated with satisfaction. Using such information, HEIs’ managers may focus their efforts on promoting international attractiveness of their institutions.

In the face of global competition and rising challenges that higher education institutions (HEIs) meet, it is imperative to increase innovativeness and efficiency of their management. Benchmarking can be the appropriate tool to search for a point of reference necessary to assess institution’s competitive position and learn from the best in order to improve. The primary purpose of the paper is to present in-depth analysis of benchmarking application in HEIs worldwide. The study involves indicating premises of using benchmarking in HEIs. It also contains detailed examination of types, approaches and scope of benchmarking initiatives. The thorough insight of benchmarking applications enabled developing classification of benchmarking undertakings in HEIs. The paper includes review of the most recent benchmarking projects and relating them to the classification according to the elaborated criteria (geographical range, scope, type of data, subject, support and continuity). The presented examples were chosen in order to exemplify different approaches to benchmarking in higher education setting. The study was performed on the basis of the published reports from benchmarking projects, scientific literature and the experience of the author from the active participation in benchmarking projects. The paper concludes with recommendations for university managers undertaking benchmarking, derived on the basis of the conducted analysis.

The article seeks to discuss important implications of higher education quality in various society areas of – politics, management, pedagogy, economics, etc. Insights on international best practice convincingly demonstrate that assuring high quality of education and enhancing its further development are the key governance and public administration priorities in all developed countries. It is argued that the quality of life is greatly affected by the level and quality of education. Moreover, it is highlighted that Ukraine has built a robust institutional paradigm of the education system and its governing bodies which focuses on retaining and accumulating strong human capital and research potential. Among the shortcomings in the implementation of the education quality assurance process, the study has identified the following: weak links in the relationships between higher education institutions and business; immaturity of monetization system for university students in the context of their cooperation with private companies; lack of university involvement in promoting the creation of business incubators, science & technology parks, technocities, etc. Apart from that, the findings have revealed significant imbalances in the national economy that translate into the supply shortage in certain occupations and labor market surplus in other professionals, along with displaying another negative trends associated with the processes of skilled workforce migration from rural areas to more developed cities and regions, or the outflow of the working-age population abroad. In turn, labor migration challenges drastic demographic changes that according to statistics, negatively affect the number of higher education applicants. A special emphasis is placed that the national higher education system is facing serious competition from higher education institutions of economically developed neighbouring countries that offer educational services in prestigious high ranked universities, as well as create ample scholarship and grant opportunities to international students. Thus, from the tuition fee perspective, domestic HEIs are often far behind their European counterparts, too. The study presents an in-depth analysis of the range of various impact factors affecting the education quality, the most essential of them are reported to be the legal and regulatory framework for higher education; government policy for higher education management; higher education funding rates; labor market saturation; the effectiveness of quality management tools in rendering educational services, etc.

Choice of profession is a social phenomenon that every person has to face in life. Numerous studies convince us that not only the well-being of a person depends on the chosen work, but also his attitude to himself and life in general, therefore, the right and timely professional choice is very important. Research about factors of career self-determination of students of higher education institutions in Ukraine shows that self-determination is an important factor in the socialization of young person, and the factors that determine students' career choices become an actual problem of nowadays. The present study involved full-time and part-time students of Institute of Philology and Mass Communications of Open International University of Human Development "Ukraine" in order to examine the factors of career self-determination of students of higher education institutions (N=189). Diagnostic factors of career self-determination of students studying in the third and fourth year were carried out using the author's questionnaire. Processing of obtained data was carried out using the Excel 2010 program; factorial and comparative analysis were applied. Results of the study showed that initial stage of career self-determination falls down on the third and fourth studying year at the university, when an image of future career and career orientations begin to form. At the same time, the content of career self-determination in this period is contradictory and uncertain, therefore, the implementation of pedagogical support of this process among students is effective.

This study aims to analyze the effect of reputation, competence on customer loyalty with customer satisfaction as an intervening variable. The population in this study were students of private tertiary institutions in Central Java who are members of Services for Higher Education Institutions Region VI, while a sample of 5 private universities, using the purposive sampling method, was taken with the Slovin formula of 190 respondents. The analysis technique uses regression analysis. Research results show the customer satisfaction variable can be an intervening variable or able to mediate between the direct influence of the reputation variable and the competency variable on customer loyalty variables.
