Delay related metrics are significant quality of service criteria for the performance evaluation of networks. Almost all delay related measurement and analysis studies take into consideration the reachable sources of Internet. However, unreachable sources might also shed light upon some problems such as worm propagation. In this study, we carry out a delay measurement study of unreachable destinations and analyse the delay dynamics of unreachable nodes. 2. Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) destination unreachable Internet Control Message Protocol-Destination Unreachable (ICMP T3) packets are considered for the delay measurement according to their code types which shows network un reach ability, host un reach ability, port un reach ability, etc. Measurement results show that unreachable sources exhibit totally different delay behaviour compared to reachable IP hosts. A significant part of the unreachable hosts experiences extra 3 seconds Round Trip Time (RTT) delay compared to accessible hosts mostly due to host un reach ability. It is also seen that, approximately 79% of destination un reach ability causes from host un reach ability. Obtained Hurst parameter estimation results reveal that unreachable host RTTs show lower Hurst degree compared to reachable hosts which is approximately a random behaviour. Unreachable sources exhibit totally different distributional characteristic compared to accessible ones which is best fitted with Phased Bi-Exponential distribution.

Along with the times, the computer network has undergone many changes from time to time. Eventually, internet network is known. To test the reachability of a host on an IP address (internet protocol) network and to measure the round-trip time for messages sent from the host to the destination, computer needs to perform ping process. Ping operates by sending ICMP (Internet Control Message Protocol) echo request packets to the target host and waiting for an ICMP response. internet connection lane determination automation uses three providers done by comparing the smallest average value of the result of the ping. The test results are printed in the form of a statistical summary of the response packets received, including the minimum, maximum and average round-trip time. The signal strength is not directly proportional to the value of average, because the signal strength is affected by the report the data RSCP, throughput and quality of services covering CSSR (Call Setup Success Ratio), CCSR (Call Completion Success Ratio), DCR (Dropped Call Ratio) and BCR (Blocked Call Ratio) which can be used to optimize the network.

Liquid effluents discharged by hospitals may contain chemical and biological contaminants whose main source is the different substances used for the treatment of patients. This type of rejection can present a sanitary potentially dangerous risk for human health and can provoke a strong degradation of diverse environmental compartments mainly water and soils. The present study focuses on the quality of the liquid effluents of Hassani Abdelkader’s hospital of Sidi Bel-Abbes (West of Algeria). The results reveal a significant chemical pollution (COD: 879 mgO2/L, BOD5: 850 mgO2/L, NH4+ : 47.9 mg/l, NO2- : 4.2 mg/l, NO3- : 56.8 mg/l with respect to WHO standard of 90 mgO2/L, 30 mgO2/L, 0.5 mg/l, 1 mg/l and 1 mg/l respectively). However, these effluents are biodegradable since the ratio COD/BOD5 do not exceeded the value of 2 in almost all samples. The presence of pathogen germs is put into evidence such as pseudomonas, the clostridium, the staphylococcus, the fecal coliforms and fecal streptococcus. These results show that the direct discharge of these effluents constitutes a major threat to human health and the environment.

Since 2002, Sunni jihadi groups have been active in Iranian Baluchistan without managing to plunge the region into chaos. This book suggests that a reason for this, besides Tehran’s military responses, has been the quality of Khomeini and Khamenei’s relationship with a network of South-Asia-educated Sunni ulama (mawlawis) originating from the Sarbaz oasis area, in the south of Baluchistan. Educated in the religiously reformist, socially conservative South Asian Deoband School, which puts the madrasa at the centre of social life, the Sarbazi ulama had taken advantage, in Iranian territory, of the eclipse of Baluch tribal might under the Pahlavi monarchy (1925-79). They emerged then as a bulwark against Soviet influence and progressive ideologies, before rallying to Khomeini in 1979. Since the turn of the twenty-first century, they have been playing the role of a rampart against Salafi propaganda and Saudi intrigues. The book shows that, through their alliance with an Iranian Kurdish-born Muslim-Brother movement and through the promotion of a distinct ‘Sunni vote’, they have since the early 2000s contributed towards – and benefitted from – the defence by the Reformist presidents Khatami (1997-2005) and Ruhani (since 2013) of local democracy and of the minorities’ rights. They endeavoured to help, at the same time, preventing the propagation of jihadism and Sunni radicalisation to Iran – at least until the ISIS/Daesh-claimed attacks of June 2017, in Tehran, shed light on the limits of the Islamic Republic’s strategy of reliance on Deobandi ulama and Muslim-Brother preachers in the country’s Sunni-peopled peripheries.

The introductory programming course, commonly known as CS1 and offered as a core course in the first year in all engineering programs in India, is unique because it can address higher cognitive levels, metacognition and some aspects of the affective domain. It can provide much needed transformative experiences to students coming from a system of school education that is dominantly performance-driven. Unfortunately, the CS1 course, as practiced in almost all engineering programs, is also performance-driven because of a variety of compulsions. This paper suggests that the inclusion of a course CS0 can bring about transformative learning that can potentially make a significant difference in the quality of learning in all subsequent engineering courses. The suggested instruction design of this course takes the advantage of the unique features of a course in programming. The proposed CS0 course uses “extreme apprenticeship” and “guided discovery” methods of instruction. The effectiveness of these instruction methods was established through the use of the thematic analysis, a well-known qualitative research method, and the associated coding of transformative learning experiences and instruction components.

Starting from previous studies in professional caregivers of people with dementia and other diseases in institutionalized centers of different regions, the aim of this study was to compare burnout levels that workers present depending on the center, to create a caregiver profile with high professional accomplishment and to describe the quality of life that residents perceive Murcia and Barcelona. The instruments used were the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI), the Professional Caregiver Survey developed ad hoc and the Brief Questionnaire of Quality of Life (CUBRECAVI in Spanish) on residents. The results show, on the one hand, that levels of professional accomplishment may be paradoxically higher in the case of catastrophe and, on the other hand, the 98.2% of users are satisfied with the residence in which is located and 81.8% with the manner in which occupy the time. The conclusions that are extrapolated from the study shed light on the current situation of workers and residents and the influence that an earthquake can have on them.

AbstractThe COVID-19 pandemic was confirmed in Italy at the end of January 2020, when the first positive cases for the virus were identified. At the beginning of March, the virus had spread to all Italian regions and on 10 March 2020 the lockdown phase began, limiting the movement of people and prohibiting almost all commercial activities, businesses and non-essential industries. As a result, millions of people were forced to stay at home, causing a drastic drop in traffic volume, which significantly changed the acoustic environment and air quality of cities. On 4 May 2020, the lockdown was partially lifted and activities were progressively reopened. Therefore, traffic gradually started to increase and, consequently, the noise emitted by motor vehicles. This behaviour was confirmed by the data collected by the DYNAMAP system, an automatic platform developed within the LIFE DYNAMAP project, providing real time traffic noise maps in terms of sound pressure levels and impacts at receivers (people and dwellings exposed to noise level bands). In this paper traffic and non-traffic-related noise events in the cities of Rome and Milan from March to May 2020 are analysed and compared to the corresponding values in 2019 to evaluate the effects of the lockdown period.

In combating the coronavirus pandemic in Germany, soft law has played an important, albeit not a central, role. Its use basically corresponds to that of under “normal circumstances”. In accordance with the German constitutional order, almost all substantial decisions are made in a legally binding form. However, these are often prepared through or supplemented by soft law. This article shows that soft law has played an important role in fighting the pandemic and its effects in Germany, although there cannot be any doubt that legally binding forms of regulation have prevailed. At the same time, the current pandemic has shed light on the advantages and effects of soft law in the context of the German legal order.

The paper presents the development of the IMUMETER sensor, designed to study the dynamics of aircraft movement, in particular, to measure the ground performance of the aircraft. A motivation of this study was to develop a sensor capable of airplane motion measurement, especially for airfield performance, takeoff and landing. The IMUMETER sensor was designed on the basis of the method of artificial neural networks. The use of a neural network is justified by the fact that the automation of the measurement of the airplane’s ground distance during landing based on acceleration data is possible thanks to the recognition of the touchdown and stopping points, using artificial intelligence. The hardware is based on a single-board computer that works with the inertial navigation platform and a satellite navigation sensor. In the development of the IMUMETER device, original software solutions were developed and tested. The paper describes the development of the Convolution Neural Network, including the learning process based on the measurement results during flight tests of the PZL 104 Wilga 35A aircraft. The ground distance of the test airplane during landing on a grass runway was calculated using the developed neural network model. Additionally included are exemplary measurements of the landing distance of the test airplane during landing on a grass runway. The results obtained in this study can be useful in the development of artificial intelligence-based sensors, especially those for the measurement and analysis of aircraft flight dynamics.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to investigate the change in the level of the wealth of the shareholders’ before the demerger and after the demerger.Design/methodology/approach – In the present study the data relating to share prices has been taken from the official website of Bombay Stock Exchange. Here the average of the six months price of the demerged company before demerger and average six months price or the average price upto 31st of July, 2007 has been collected of demerged and resultant company after demerger. Findings – It is found that after demerger there is increase in the total wealth of the shareholders in almost all the cases.Research limitations/implications – Given the nature of this study, generalizations cannot be made as the study is conducted in a bullish market. The time specific character of the subject matter is an opportunity for future longitudinal research.Practical implications – Presently de-mergers are creating enormous wealth for shareholders. It is because of the negative synergy. Due to the demerger this negative synergy is removed and the value is unlocked. However, Investors should differentiate between genuine attempts at value creation and de-mergers undertaken to create hype around the stocks. Stay away from dubious companies that want to manipulate prices. Investors should focus on the quality of management and corporate governance record of the companyOriginality/value – The study is the first of its kind and hence original in nature.Article Type: Research paperKeyword(s): Demerger, Demerged Company, Resultant Company, Negative Synergy, Shareholders Wealth.
