This paper presents data on bees of the families Megachilidae and Apidae (Apoidea) of the proposed nature reserve "Skarpa Wiślana" in Męćaemierz (Kazimierski Landscape Park). Distributional and phenological data are given. Thirty-one species of Megachilidae and forty-three species of Apidae were collected. For rare and very rare species (Anthidium oblongatum (ILLIGER, 1806); Heriades crenulatus NYLANDER, 1856; Hoplitis claviventris (THOMSON,1872); Hoplitis papaveris (LATREILLE, 1799); Megachile genalis MORAWITZ, 1880; Osmia cerinthidis MORAWITZ, 1876; Stelis odontopyga NOSKIEWICZ, 1926; Stelis ornatula (KLUG,1807); Epeoloides coecutiens (F ABRICIUS , 1775); Eucera interrupta BAER, 1850; Nomada bifasciata OLIVIER, 1811; Nomada stigma FABRICIUS, 1804; Nomada zonata PANZER, 1798) this paper summarizes information about their distribution in 21st century in Poland, as well as data on their bionomics and their present status of threat in Europe.

The results of the first study of the species diversity of myxomycetes of the Rdeysky State Nature Reserve are presented. The 201 field specimens of sporophores belonging to 56 morphospecies from 27 genera, ten families, and six orders were collected from September 30 to October 5, 2020. Fifty-two species of these were new for the Novgorod Region. The most common species at the reserve were Arcyria affinis, Hemitrichia calyculata, Lycogala epidendrum, Metatrichia vesparia, Physarum album, Trichia decipiens, and T. varia. Additionally, detailed morphological descriptions of two rare species Amaurochaete trechispora and Trichia crateriformis are given.

The first data about the algae flora of the water bodies of the “Aschisayskaya Steppe” plot of the State Nature Reserve “Orenburgsky” are presented. 217 species and intraspecies taxa of microalgae belonging to the phyla Chlorophyta, Euglenozoa, Bacillariophyta, Ochrophyta, Streptophyta, Miozoa and Cyanobacteria were found in five reservoirs of the plot. New species for the territory of the Orenburg Region, as well as rare species for Russia are noted, their characteristics and micrographs are given. The obtained data expands the current understanding of the range of the identified taxa.

Classification scheme of rare habitats of Europe according to Bern Convention and Habitat Directive of EU was presented for the territory of Drevlianskyi nature reserve. It was shown significant habitat’s diversity of nature reserve from all main types of habitats — water (permanent and temporary lakes (waterbodies), watercources, reedbeds habitats), bog (eutrophic and mesotrophic mires), grassland (dry, mesic and wet grassland, floodplain and fen scrub, heaths), forest (leaved and conifer forests (woodland), rock (rocks and talus of silicate rocks). According to the results of field research, the territory of the reserve represented by 30 habitats (1 — ІІ leaves, 4 — ІІІ leaves, 25 — ІV leaves). It is established that the most common habitat 91T0 (Central European lichen Scots pine forests), which represented by 153 localities in A1C (dry pine forest) on an area of 421.5 ha. It was made a conclusion that the role of rare habitats in nature reserve Drevlianskyi is determinant for conservation of rare species of vascular plants that are protected by the Bern Convention, European Red List and included to the Red Book of Ukraine. The results of the analysis of the role of rare biotopes of Europe in the conservation of species of flora of different protection status on the territory of Drevlianskyi nature reserve show that most of the rare plant species of reserve listed in Resolution № 6 of the Bern Convention (Annex I), revised in 2011, are present in its rare settlements. The role of rare habitats of Drevlianskyi nature reserve in the conservation of rare species of flora is decisive — of the 29 species of plants of supranational and national levels of protection in rare habitats there are 24 species or 82.8% of their total number.

The results of field studies of the lichen flora of the Kerzhensky Reserve (Nizhny Novgorod Region), carried out mainly in the Kerzhenets River valley in May 2019, are presented. An annotated list of taxa previously unknown for the reserve includes 121 species from 70 genera. Of these, 97 species and 31 genera are new to the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The species Micarea soralifera and Rinodina excrescens are published for the first time for European Russia. We have found some very rare species in European Russia previously known from single records (Agonimia repleta, Bacidina indigens, Gyalideopsis alnicola, Sclerophora amabilis, Stigmidium mycobilimbiae, Telogalla olivieri, and Verrucaria ochrostoma).

The aim of our study was to assess the attraction and value of flowering plants at green areas in support and sustenance of wild bees (Hymenoptera, Apoidea) populations in Kyiv. Study objects were the most common flowering ornamental plants of the city and the wild bees visiting their inflorescence during the vegetation season to collect pollen and feed on nectar. Study was conducted at 16 areas of observation and material collection, which include urban parks, M. M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden, green spaces of residential areas, roadsides, etc. Insects were collected following the standard method of catching individual specimens during spring and summer periods of 2012–2018. Based on the observations, we visualized trophic relations of bees with plants and calculated the biodiversity index of visiting insects for plants. Periodicity of florescence was analyzed using phenological data. Examination of urban green areas revealed ornamental plants that were the most attractive for bees, including more than 35 taxa of 20 families of trees, shrubs and grassy plants. Bees are superiorly attracted to plants of the genera Rudbeckia, Sedum, Gypsophila, Cerasus, Tagetes, Spiraea, Lonicera, Aesculus. There is a succession of plant flowering during spring-summer season, which must be considered while planting of greenery. Certain plant species attract insects at each period of inflorescence period, for example, Prunus, Rhododendron, Crataegus, Aesculus in spring, most of Asteraceae in summer. The diversity of blossoming plants is significantly lower to the end of summer and beginning of fall, coinciding with the decreasing flight activity of wild bees. Overall, the studied ornamental plants not only attract the most common species of wild bees, but also highly specific and rare species such as Bombus argillaceus and Xylocopa valga, protected by the Red Data Book of Ukraine. We found that blossoming green areas, made up by trees, shrubs and herbs ornamental plants, are important for feeding of many species of wild bees and sustaining their populations in urban conditions.

The article presents a historical and compositional analysis of the changes done to “Las Zwierzyniecki”[1] (now a public park and nature reserve) in Białystok. It describes the stages of its transformation in the context of the changes done to the baroque composition of the Branicki residence and menageries from the 18th to early 21st century. An attempt was made to describe the historical and compositional design guidelines for the modern revitalisation of Las Zwierzyniecki.   [1] Roughly translatable as the Zwierzyniec (menagerie) Forest
