In this paper, the velocity and acceleration of four water rockets is determined, using the least squares method and the Euler’s method. The position and time data are obtained from the analysis of slow-motion videos of the launch of the rockets, processed with the video analyzer software “Tracker”. This experiment is proposed as a pedagogical tool for the exploration by students of high school and first semester of sciencie and engineering of basic concepts of kinematics and dynamics in systems with variable mass and acceleration.

This study examines a grassroots effort to work collaboratively with a group of immigrant students, their families, and educators at an urban high school.  Using PAR as a methodological tool, we explore how a group of high school students along with their families resist racial stigmatization and marginalization.  These young people and families were part of a university intergenerational collective, Family School Partnership (FSP) that worked along-side  teachers in an urban high school located in Salt Lake City, Utah.  This article focuses on how PAR can be a pedagogical tool to support immigrant young people and their families as they resist oppressions in schools while offering teachers, pre-service teachers and graduate students unique preparation experiences for working with and learning from immigrant students.

The material of history learning is essentially abstract, because it examines the events happened in the past and it also requires the right medium to visualize it. The comics about history is one of the media that are able to address historical events in the hand of students, thus the objectives of history learning can be completely achieved. The comic books are familiarly called as the first step realization in improving the students’ reading interest towards history books, particularly on middle and high school students. With regard to this issue, the recent article specifically addresses the use of comics in learning history for senior high school students. This project is a kind of research development employing Research and Development method. It is believed that learning history by using comic books will be able to improve the students’ understanding of history. In addition, the history learning becomes no longer tedious learning. The efficacy of comic as a pedagogical tool is proven to be able to improve the effectiveness and practicability in history learning.

High school cosmetology students study the methods and effects of various human hair treatments, including permanents, straightening, conditioning, coloring and cutting. Although they are provided with textbook examples of overtreatment and numerous hair disorders and diseases, a view of an individual hair at the high resolution offered by an SEM provides convincing evidence of the hair‘s altered structure. Magnifications up to 2000X provide dramatic differences in perspective. A good quality classroom optical microscope can be very informative at lower resolutions.Students in a cosmetology class are initially split into two groups. One group is taught basic controls on the SEM (focus, magnification, brightness, contrast, specimen X, Y, and Z axis movements). A healthy, untreated piece of hair is initially examined on the SEM The second group cements a piece of their own hair on a stub. The samples are dryed quickly using heat or vacuum while the groups trade places and activities.

A modification of the Paired-Stimuli Parent Program (Florance, 1977) was adapted for the treatment of articulatory errors of visually handicapped children. Blind high school students served as clinical aides. A discussion of treatment methodology, and the results of administrating the program to 32 children, including a two-year follow-up evaluation to measure permanence of behavior change, is presented.
