Research in robotics is one of the promising areas in mobile robot development, which is planned to be implemented in extreme dangerous conditions of areas explored by humans. This article aims at developing and improving a prototype of zoomorphic mobile robots that are designed to repeat the existing biological objects in nature. The authors performed a detailed analysis on the structure and dynamics of the geometrical family caterpillar movement, which is passed on a practical design implemented to perform the dynamic movement on uneven vertical surfaces. Based on the obtained analysis, the design and kinematic scheme of the movement is developed. Also, the structural control scheme via the Internet technologies that allow carrying out remote control is presented in this paper, considering the dangerous mobile robot work zones. To test the recommended solutions, the authors developed detailed 3D printed models of the mobile robot constructions for the implemented hardware. The model of the mobile robot is constructed, and the control system with examples of the user program code implementations is performed. Several experiments were performed, which showed the efficiency of the achieved mobile robot for solving problems of vertical movement on uneven metal surfaces. Moreover, the obtained slow motion of the designed robot proves that the simulated robot behaves similarly to the natural behavior of caterpillar movement.

The global epidemic of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes, is creating unsustainable burdens on health systems worldwide. NCDs are treatable but not curable. They are less amenable to top-down prevention and control than are the infectious diseases now in retreat. NCDs are mostly preventable, but only individuals themselves have the power to prevent and manage the diseases to which the enticements of modernity and rising prosperity have made them so susceptible (e.g., tobacco, fat-salt-carbohydrate laden food products). Rates of nonadherence to healthcare regimens for controlling NCDs are high, despite the predictable long-term ravages of not self-managing an NCD effectively. I use international data on adult functional literacy to show why the cognitive demands of today’s NCD self-management (NCD-SM) regimens invite nonadherence, especially among individuals of below-average or declining cognitive capacity. I then describe ways to improve the cognitive accessibility of NCD-SM regimens, where required, so that more patients are better able and motivated to self-manage and less likely to err in life-threatening ways. For the healthcare professions, I list tools they can develop and deploy to increase patients’ cognitive access to NCD-SM. Epidemiologists could identify more WHO “best buy” interventions to slow or reverse the world’s “slow-motion disaster” of NCDs were they to add two neglected variables when modeling the rising burdens of disease. The neglected two are both cognitive: the distribution of cognitive capacity levels of people in a population and the cognitive complexity of their health environments.

Abstract The first of the two postulates of relativity states that the laws of physics are the same in all inertial reference frames. Often it is assumed that the postulates are mainly concerned with objects moving at a significant fraction of the speed of light. However, the postulates are applicable at all speeds from a snail to a photon. To practically demonstrate the first postulate, the time for a ball to drop a known distance was measured in a stationary and moving lift. An accelerometer app on an iPhone 7 was used to measure the vertical acceleration while the lift travelled between floors and verified that the lift ascended and descended at a constant speed when the ball was dropped. The slow-motion feature of the iPhone 7 (240 fps) was used to capture videos of the falling ball. The number of frames for the ball to fall in a stationary, descending, and ascending lift was respectively 102.4 ± 0.55 , 102.3 ± 1.64 , 99.8 ± 4.21. A t-test revealed no significant difference between these values, confirming the validity of the first postulate. The accelerometer signal was integrated to estimate the average speed of the lift between the bottom and top floor, which was then used to estimate the height difference. An electronic balance placed on the floor of the lift was used to demonstrate the first postulate and the equivalence principle of General Relativity that states that gravitational and inertial mass are equivalent.

We discuss the linear gravitoelectromagnetic approach used to solve Einstein’s equations in the weak-field and slow-motion approximation, which is a powerful tool to explain, by analogy with electromagnetism, several gravitational effects in the solar system, where the approximation holds true. In particular, we discuss the analogy, according to which Einstein’s equations can be written as Maxwell-like equations, and focus on the definition of the gravitoelectromagnetic fields in non-stationary conditions. Furthermore, we examine to what extent, starting from a given solution of Einstein’s equations, gravitoelectromagnetic fields can be used to describe the motion of test particles using a Lorentz-like force equation.

The digital world is branching in two directions: techno-authoritarianism – as Chinese technology firms increase their presence in Europe; and a network of private US corporations deploying a business model that is also based on total surveillance. This slow-motion splintering of the internet has accelerated during the pandemic. From its position of vulnerability, the EU is emerging as a third way in the technological transformation, as it pledges to develop systemic rules for global digital governance. Brussels believes that this process of digital self-determination is essential to protect its model and the ethical principles of technological development.

Narrative theory is a dynamic and evolving field of inquiry that has made tremendous inroads in the medical humanities over the past 40 years. Numerous authors have popularized the idea that “thinking narratively” can produce important insights about the illness experience for physician and patient alike. This paper draws on aspects of narrative theory to emphasize the moral responsibilities that arise when we step into another person's life narrative, becoming a character in her or his story. This has especially significant ethical implications for the physician–patient encounter in that each character in this shared story experiences time somewhat differently. This gives rise to the notion of “slow motion ethics” and a somewhat unique perspective on the moral responsibilities clinicians bear toward their patients.

Third junction of Sungai Bengkel was a Signalized Intersection which a hasn’t have traffic jam ,which has three approach, are North approach, West approach and East approach. However, the alinyemen for the North approach has problems that make it difficult for vehicles, especially four-wheelers to turn because the effect bottle neck resulting in the slow motion of the vehicle and change of phase time . the problem solving, the evalution of traffic light and intersection geometry were carried out by widening  the alinyemen for the North approach and East approaches and doing changes in cycle time. The purpose of evaluating the performance of traffic light and Geometrics at the third intersection of Sungai Bengkel is to determine the value of the degree of saturation and to know the performance of the intersection.At the intersection planning, it refers to the PKJI 2014 for Intersection Performance, while for the Geometrics it refers to Module 4 of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing on Geometric Planning of Plane Intersections.Based on  the calculation results of the Sungai Bengkel junction performance indicate that, the degree of  saturation  < 0.85,which is 0.529 for North,  0.537 for East, and 0.570  for West .With the radius is 15 m, and the cycle  time of traffic light 50 second, with the delay time  as long as 17 second/pcu

Abstract We show that even the slow (subsonic) motion of pulsar wind nebulae (PWNe) relative to an ambient matter has a significant impact on their observables. The motion changes the appearance of nebulae on X-ray images, comparing to what would be observed for a nebula at rest. Accounting for the relative motion is necessary to avoid misinterpretation of the structure of the nebulae when analyzing their X-ray morphology. The motion also introduces some extra time scales in variability of non-thermal high-energy emission of PWNe and allows to reproduce a number of their structures that are not explained by stationary nebula models.
