The focus of present study was to find the phytosociology, distribution pattern, and diversity of different species of trees associated with traditional agroforestry in the district of Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir, India. Data was collected through quadrat survey method. A total of fifty quadrats of the size (10x10m) each were thrown randomly in agriculture fields. Total 26 tree species belonging to 16 families and 21 genera were encountered in the agricultural fields with Grewia optiva, Pyrus persica and Celtis australis being the tree species in dominance. The most dense species of tree recorded was Grewia optiva with a density value of 3.88 tree/ha which was followed by Pyrus persica with a density of 3.74 tree/ha. Buxus wallichiana was the least dense species recorded (0.82 tree/ha). The study revealed that the area has vast potential sites for the plantation of various agroforestry related tree species to solve the problems of fuel, fodder and timber.

Trees in the landscape have many important roles; one of them is aesthetics function. Therefore, tree species selection must be considered well. Indonesia has big number of tree biodiversity that can use for tree selection purposes. The selection can be considered based on physical characteristics and ecological characteristics of the tree species. Therefore, purposes of this study are 1) to identify ecological distribution of native tree species in Java island, 2) to identify native tree species which have high aesthetic value, and 3) to arrange native tree species list that have potential to be developed for aesthetic use in the landscape. This study conducted in Cibodas Botanical Garden. The method used for this research is literature study from Botanical Garden Catalogue, direct survey method, aesthetic analyze using Key Performance Index for aesthetic quality assessment. The results of this research is there are 223 Java Island native tree species collection in Cibodas Botanical Garden. The habitat of these collections of tree species is evenly distributed throughout the island of Java. Most can grow well in tropical zones (0-1000 masl) and tropical-mountain zones (0-2400 masl). Based on the aesthetic criteria assessment there are 50 species belonging to the good category, 101 species are included in the moderate category, and only one species is categorized as bad.

The study was performed in Mali Park, in the town of Obrenovac. Our findings are based on the data obtained after direct measurements of elements of growth and the derived indicators of tree vitality and ornamentalness. Cluster analysis was applied to determine the relatively homogeneous groups of tree species. The results show that the group with the best functional characteristics includes Platanus acerifolia, Tilia grandifolia and Fraxinus ornus, and the group of species with inferior characteristics includes Betula verrucosa, Juglans regia, Celtis australis, Acer platanoides, Cedrus atlantica and Acer negundo.

The main purpose of the study was to evaluate the role of English teachers in developing reading and writing skills at the elementary level. The study was descriptive, and the survey method was used for the collection of data. All the elementary English teachers of District Kotli were the population of the study. The researcher selected 256 teachers through a simple random sampling technique. A questionnaire-based on a five-point Likert scale was developed to collect the data from the elementary school teachers. The reliability of the instrument was measured, and it was found 0.790. The researcher applied mean and standard deviation for analyzing the data. It was found that the elementary teachers did not encourage students to use simple past tense for describing pasts events. It is recommended that for the development of language skills, teachers can use different forms of text vocabulary proficiency through classroom reading, and different forms of genres and texts. Moreover, teachers may provide different picture books and other visual and instructional material in other to encourage writing skills in elementary schools.

Baseline knowledge of distribution and abundance of a species whose population is facing decline throughout its distribution range is vital for its conservation planning. Indian Pangolin (Manis crassicaudata) is such a species which is Imperiled and lacking key biological studies in northern locale of Pakistan. We investigated distribution, abundance and threats faced by Indian pangolin in Pir Lasura National Park, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan. Indian pangolin has patchy distribution in and around the Park ranging from 590m-1540m elevation. A very low population (0.77±0.34 individuals/km2) of Indian pangolin were recorded from the Park. Local perception towards Indian pangolin was to a great extent negative. Slaughtering record of 446 pangolins were gathered. We recovered 12 dead pangolins, 10 jackets of scales. Furthermore, selling of 26 kg scales, 111 live pangolin captures and 313 killings were reported during 2013-2015. Local hunters were mainly involved in capturing and killing of Indian pangolin 90%, local farmers 8% (n=22) and labor 1%. We propose more studies ought to be led to improve comprehension of species and mindfulness instruction programs both by government and private sectors, to taught local communities living in and around Pir Lasura National Park for getting support for the species and to change their demeanors.

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah  untuk menganalisis pola distribusi  capung (Odonata) di Kawasan Taman Wisata Alam Suranadi. Jenis penelitian ini deskriptif eksploratif yang dilakukan pada bulan Mei 2017. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengambilan data ialah metode penangkapan capung dengan jaring serangga mengikuti  empat jalur transek yaitu jalur pinggir kiri hutan, jalur pinggir kanan hutan, jalur tengah dan jalur air. Pengambilan data dilakukan sebanyak 2 kali pengulangan dalam waktu 1 bulan pada pagi hari pukul 08.00 – 11. 00 wita dan sore hari pukul 15.00–17.00 wita Perhitungan indeks pola penyebaran  capung menggunakan rumus dari Southwood. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) Jumlah spesies capung yang ditemukan di Kawasan Taman Wisata Alam Suranadi terdiri dari 19 spesies yang termasuk kedalam 5 famili (2) Pola penyebaran capung berkategori mengelompok (15 spesies) dan  pola penyebaran merata (4 spesies). Kata kunci: Capung, Pola Penyebaran, Suranadi.  Abstract               The aim of this research is to analyze  the distribution pattern of the dragonflies (Odonata) in the Area of Nature Park Suranadi. This is an explorative descriptive study conducted in May 2017. The method used in data collection is survey method with sweeping net technique following observation path (Left Edge, Right Edge, Central Line and Water Line). Data retrieval is done 2 times repetition within 1 month in the morning at 08.00 - 11.00 pm  and afternoon at 15.00-17.00 pm.  The pattern analysis of the distribution of dragonflies using the formula variance value of Southwood .  The results showed that (1) the number of species of dragonflies found in Suranadi Nature Park Area consists of 19 species belonging to 5 families (2) distribution pattern of  dragonflies  are distributed in groups (15 species) and uniform distribution pattern (4 species).  Key words: Dragonflies, distribution Patterns, Suranadi.
