The world lives in a technology revolution that started from invention the computer system, the Internet and now in the Internet of Things (IoT) or Internet of every things (IoE). This revolution impacted the human life strongly, by depending on this technology to enhance our life and inventing new products depending on information technology like social media, mobile applications, video games and so on. This research will present the simplest, yet efficient way to build a classic Arcade Machine by using a Raspberry Pi development board, also this research will highlight how to build and install all related components, such as body structure, buttons and joysticks, programming the Raspberry Pi and adding the video game files. Later, the research will explain how to connect the Arcade Machine to the Internet for remote operation by using MCU ESP8266, relays, and the Wi-Fi function on the Raspberry Pi itself. Beside the video games, the machine can behave as an ordinary computer for the Internet browsing, music listening, image processing, documenting or doing some programing tasks, as the Raspbian operating system has python programming apps and it is possible to install any other programing language needed to execute tasks on Raspberry Pi microcontroller.

JavaScript language (JS) has been widely used in recent years applied to browsers-context. Yet JS is being applied to other backgrounds such as server-side programming, mobile applications, games, robotics, and the Internet of Things (IoT). JavaScript is suitable for programming IoT devices due to eventdriven oriented architecture. However, it is an interpreted language, so it has a lower performance than a compiled language. This paper assesses the use of WebAssembly as a strategy to improve the performance of JavaScript applications in the IoT environment. The experiments were performed on a Raspberry Pi using the Ostrich Benchmark Suite. We run the algorithms in JavaScript, WebAssembly, and C language while collecting data about device resource consumption. Our results showed that JavaScript performance could be improved by 39.81% in terms of execution time, a tiny gain in memory usage, and reduced battery consumption by 39.86% when using WebAssembly.

The development of the internet of things (IoT) and the internet of robotics (IoR) are becoming more and more involved with our daily lives. It serves a variety of tasks some of them are essential to us. The main objective of SRR is to develop a surveillance system for detecting suspicious and targeted places for users without any loss of human life. This paper shows the design and implementation of a robotic surveillance platform for real-time monitoring with the help of image processing, which can explorer places of difficult access or high risk. The robotic live streaming is via two cameras, the first one is fixed straight on the road and the second one is dynamic with tilt-pan ability. All cameras have image processing capabilities to analyze, detect and track objects plus few other graphical functions. The components mentioned above built on top of the four-wheel vehicle system with high torque to provide mobility on rough terrain. This work is based on Raspberry Pi and can be controlled over Wi-Fi locally or publicly over the internet. The results show making a high potential, relatively low price robot with lots of features and functions that can perform multiple tasks simultaneously, all are crucial to surveillance and monitoring problems, controlled by a user from far distances and for a long time.


Automatic environmental monitoring is a field that encompasses several scientific practices for the assessment of risks that may negatively impact a given environment, such as the forest. A forest is a natural environment that hosts various forms of plant and animal life, so preserving the forest is a top priority. To this end, the authors of this paper will focus on the development of an intelligent system for the early detection of forest fires, based on an IoT solution. This latter will thus facilitate the exploitation of the functionalities offered by the Cloud and mobile applications. Detecting and predicting forest fires with accuracy is a difficult task that requires machine learning and an in-depth analysis of environmental conditions. This leads the authors to adopt the forward neural network algorithm by highlighting its contribution through real experiments, performed on the prototype developed in this paper.

Population growth and urbanization have led to an increase in the rate of waste production, the lack of timely and proper management of which will have adverse effects on human life and the environment. Since most of the waste management costs are spent on waste collection and transportation, it is necessary to find solutions to control the huge costs of this sector. On the other hand, today, intelligent technologies are used globally as solutions to meet challenges in various fields such as agriculture to improve agro-industrial production, transportation, and waste management, which creates a concept called smart cities. One of the categories that has changed the concept of cities and made them have easier and smarter answers to various events and needs is the "Internet of Things", in which many cases and infrastructures with new hardware technologies and Software are integrated. Waste collection is no exception to this rule and efforts have been made to make it smarter. In this research, some of the latest innovations presented globally in order to make trash smarter have been examined.

This article introduces the services and development of the Internet of Things, and analyzes the driving forces and obstacles behind such development. Looking at application types and the different development stages of the Internet of Things, this article categorizes its services into four types: identity related services, information aggregation services, collaborative-aware services, and ubiquitous services. For the first two types of services, applications and system framework are discussed; for the last two types, development trends are discussed. Services provided by the Internet of Things will gradually be integrated into human life and society; with the development of the Internet of Things, applications will evolve from relatively simple identity-related and information aggregation-related applications, to collaboratively-aware and finally ubiquitous applications. It will then be possible for the Internet of Things to be fully integrated with Internet and telecommunications networks

To improve the overall impact of the Internet of Things (IoT), intelligent capabilities must be developed at the edge of the IoT ‘Cloud.' ‘Smart' IoT objects must not only communicate with their environment, but also use embedded knowledge to interpret signals, and by making inferences augment their knowledge of their own state and that of their environment. Thus, intelligent IoT objects must improve their capabilities to make autonomous decisions without reliance to external computing infrastructure. In this chapter, we illustrate the concept of smart autonomous logistic objects with a proof of concept prototype built using an embedded version of the Prolog language, running on a Raspberry Pi credit-card-sized single-board computer to which an RFID reader is attached. The intelligent object is combining the RFID readings from its environment with embedded knowledge to infer new knowledge about its status. We test the system performance in a simulated environment consisting of logistics objects.

5G is a new universal wireless standard, a new form of mobile network engineered to bring everyone and everything virtually together. 5G is not only for mobile phones, but it is also the foundation for virtual reality (VR), the internet of things (IoT), and autonomous driving, connecting many electronic devices to the internet. Having good healthcare is very important as it affects all parts of human life and social well-being. Moreover, it is crucial to have a great healthcare system if we want economic growth, workforce productivity, and society to advance. Despite all the hard work done by scientists and medical professionals, today's healthcare is mainly inefficient, and a significant overhaul is required. This chapter discusses the primary advantages, including the 5G's main features in healthcare and their limitations and probable solutions and applications to the latest scenario.

Physical security systems are applied to alert in advance a well-known vector of attacks. This paper presents an analysis of the research and assessment of physical security systems applying the PSMECA technique (analysis of modes, efforts, and criticality of physical security). The object of research and analysis is the physical security system of the Ministry of Education and Science of Iraq (as the infrastructure of the region's objects), as well as the area of the compact living of students and co-workers (campus). This paper discusses the organization of physical security systems, which are based on devices with low power consumption and function in the Internet of things environment. The main aim is to describe and develop a physical security system that functions in the Internet of things environment, as well as the development of a scheme for the research and development of models and methods for risk analysis, models of functions and components, models of failures and conducting research and analysis of occurrence failures of PSS. The generalized structural and hierarchical scheme of the physical security system of the infrastructure of the region is presented, as well as the applied application of the scheme is illustrated by the example of the physical security system of a student campus of one of the universities of Baghdad. The functional modeling scheme of the object is provided and is based on the use of the Raspberry Pi microcomputer and the Arduino microcontroller. The set-theoretical models of functions, components, and failures of the system under study, as well as the projection of a hierarchical failure structure in the table of the basic structural elements of the system, are presented. The IDEF0 diagram, showing a power outage scenario (accidental or intentional) in connection with lighting and video subsystems, is presented. The scheme of research and development of models and methods of analysis of risks of PSS is carried out in the paper. A PSMECA table for the CCTV system has been created, which allows you to more precisely determine the cause of the failure in the physical security system and the importance of failure criticality
