This study aims to determine the distribution and abundance of reef fish families chaetodontidae in coral reef waters of Para Island Sub District Tatoareng. This study was conducted at 4 stations. Data collected was done using visual census on the 50-meter transect line at 5 meters depth. In addition to revealing the number of species and abundance of individuals chaetodontidae, data analysis aimed to determine number of species, individual abundance, and the community index. Based on the identification, obtained 27 species from 3 genera and 217 number of individuals.  The highest number of species found at station Para 1.  7 species are always found in all observation stations, Chaetodon kleinii, C. punctatofasciatus, C. lunulatus, C. trifascialis, C. vagabundus, Heniochus varius, H. chrysostomus. The species with the largest number of individuals that is Chaetodon kleinii (45 individuals). Chaetodontidae fish species diversity index ranged between 2.207-2.866. Dominance Index are categorized low in the range of 0.078-0.122.  Similarity index are categorized high in the range of 0.922-0.971. Keywords : coral fishes, chaetodontidae, coral reef, Para Island

Data collected was done using visual census on the 50-meter transect line at 3 meters and 10 meters depths. In addition to revealing the number of species and abundance of individuals Pomacentridae, data analysis aimed to determine the community index. Based on the identification, obtained 41 species from 12 genera. 4 species has its presence in large numbers in all three observation stations, Chromis margaritifer, Pomacentrus mollucensis, Chrysiptera unimaculata, and the species with the largest number of individuals that is Chromis ternatensis. Based on depth, found 35 species with a total of 3863 individuals at a depth of 3 meters and 36 species at a depth of 10 meters with a total of 3810 individuals. Pomacentridae fish species diversity index ranged between 2.181-2.857. Dominance Index, are categorized low in the range of 0.081-0.197.. Penelitian dilakukan di 3 lokasi. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan metode sensus visual pada transek garis sepanjang 50 meter, kedalaman 3 meter dan 10 meter. Selain mengungkapkan jumlah spesies dan kelimpahan individu Pomacentridae, analisis data diarahkan untuk mengetahui indeks komunitas. Berdasarkan hasil identifikasi, diperoleh 41 spesies yang berasal dari 12 genera. 4 spesies kehadirannya dalam jumlah yang besar di ketiga stasiun pengamatan yaitu, Chromis margaritifer, Pomacentrus mollucensis, Chrysiptera unimaculata, dan spesies dengan jumlah individu terbesar yaitu Chromis ternatensis. Berdasarkan kedalaman, ditemukan 35 spesies dengan total 3863 individu pada kedalaman 3 meter dan 36 spesies di kedalaman 10 meter dengan jumlah total 3810 individu.  Indeks keanekaragaman spesies ikan Pomacentridae berkisar antara 2.181-2.857. Karimunting Village is a coastal area that has a mangrove with contained several faunas in it, one of which is a fiddler crab. The fiddler crab is a Decapoda ordo and it is included in the Ocypodidae family. This study aims to collect data on the diversity of fiddler crabs in Karimunting Village. The method used in this study is a survey, while the sample is collected by applying the transect line with a purposive sampling technique. The transect line is 500 m length, with a total of three lanes. There are ten plots of 1x1 meter in size in each transect lines to pick up fiddler crabs. Fiddler crabs species were found in 6 species, namely Uca paradussumieri, Uca annulipes, Uca forcipata, Uca rosea, Uca crassipes and Uca tetragonon. The Shannon-Winner species diversity index (H') of fiddler crabs in 1st and 2nd lanes both are categorized medium, while in the 3rd lane is categorized low. The range of values H'=0,3-1,5. The value of species abundance index (Xi) ranges from 3-16.6 ind/m2. The value of evenness index (e) ranges from 0,72 to 0,84. The dominance index value (C) ranges from 0,3 to 0,5 categorized as the absence of the dominant species of fiddler crab. Comparison of species similarity index (IS) for each lane is categorized differently, for the 1st and 2nd lane the index is 91% and categorized as having high species similarity, then in 2nd and 3rd lane the index is 75% and categorized as having a medium species similarity, whereas the index for 1st and 3rd is 60%, therefore it is categorized as having low species similarity.Keyword: Diversity, Fiddler Crab, Karimunting Village

This study aims to determine the distribution and abundance of reef fish in coral reef waters of Sub District Maba and was conducted at 10 stations. Data were collected by conducting visual census on the 50-meter transect line at 5 meters depth. In addition to revealing the number of species and abundance of coral fishes, data were analyzed to determine the diversity index (Shannon-Wiener). Based on field observations, most of the reef fishes  found in the Sub-district of Maba surrounding waters are being categorized to have less potential category (50%);  fair potential (41.67%); potential (8:33%); and  there is no population being classified in very potential category. Several locations have the potential reef fish condition were Jara-jara Cape, Gee Island, and Para-para Island.  Based on the existence of the target species population, in term of species richness and abundance, it is assumed that largely dominated by the target fish species that has low economic value. On the other hand target fish that has high economic value only consists of few species such as grouper, jacks, sweetlips, and snappers.   Keywords : coral fishes,  coral reef, sub district maba ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui distribusi dan kelimpahan ikan karang di perairan terumbu karang Kecamatan Maba. Keberadaan populasi spesies target, baik kekayaan spesies maupun kelimpahan individu, ternyata sebagian besar didominasi oleh jenis ikan target yang bernilai ekonomi/pasar rendah.  Beberapa jenis ikan yang memiliki nilai ekonimis penting ditemukan  seperti, kerapu, Sweetlips (bibir manis), Bobara, dan kakap. The objective of this study was to examine the general condition of Chaetodontidae fish in North Salawati and South Batanta Districts, i.e. species composition and number of species, abundance and density of individuals, as well as ecological indices.  Data were collected by using Visual Census method with a 70 m-transect, width 2.5 m to the left and 2.5 m to the right. Therefore, the total area observed was 350 m2. This study found 6 (six) genera with 32 species and total abundance of 791 individuals, Chaetodon, Chelmon, Coradion, Heniochus, Hemitaurichthys and Forcipiger.  Based on number of species, the studied area had highly diverse coral fish species.  Chaetodon lunulatus and C. kleinii were the most species found with the highest number of individuals. Station KBS01 had highest number of species and individual abundance. Diversity index was 2 < H’ < 3 meaning that the coral fish communities in both districts were stable.Keywords : Coral Fishes, Chaetodontidae, Raja Ampat Island. Abstrak Tujuan penelitian ini secara umum adalah untuk mengkaji kondisi existing ikan karang famili chaetodontidae di Kecamatan Salawati Utara dan Kecamatan Batanta Selatan, yaitu komposisi dan jumlah spesies, kelimpahan individu, dan indeks ekologi. Pengambilan data dilakukan menggunakan metode Sensus Visual dengan panjang garis transek 70 m, lebar pengamatan 2,5 meter ke kiri dan 2,5 meter ke kanan.  Dengan demikian, luas areal pengamatan adalah 350 m2. Penelitian ini menemukan  6 (enam) genera dengan 32 spesies dan kelimpahan individu total 791 individu terdiri dari Chaetodon, Chelmon, Coradion, Heniochus, Hemitaurichthys dan Forcipiger dengan 32 spesies. Oleh Karena itu, wilayah ini  memiliki keanekaragaman jenis ikan karang yang tinggi dimana Chaetodon lunulatus dan C. kleinii  paling sering ditemukan dengan jumlah individu tertinggi.   Stasiun KBS01 memiliki jumlah spesies dan kelimpahan individu tertinggi. Nilai indeks keanekaragaman berada pada kisaran    2 < H’< 3 yang berarti bahwa komunitas ikan karang di kecamatan ini  dinyatakan stabil.

Diversity of butterfly species can develop well if in the habitat there are factors that support its population. Protected areas have a higher diversity of butterfly species than those land use conservation area. Beside taking forest product in term of wood or non woody materials, Forest Managemen Unit also provide environmental service such as Clean Water Shelter (PDAM) and Madi Dam. The location of the Madi Dam and Clean Water Shelter are the location that utilized by the communities, this area also have a high diversity of butterfly. The purpose of this study was to obtain data on the diversity of butterflies in the Forest Management Unit in the village of Tiga Berkat lumar sub-district Bengkayang regency. The method used in this research is the transect method. Direct sampling with insect nets is carried out on the transect line. The butterfly found were 28 species with 153 individuals from 4 families are Papilionidae (6 species), Nymphalidae (14 species), Pieridae (6 species) and Lycaenidae (2 species). Diversity index value is 2,98, abundance index value is 0,89, riches index value is 5,36, dominance index  value is 2,14, species similarity index value is 72,72 %.Keywords : Diversity, Butterfly, Forest Management Units

Decapoda is a ten-legged invertebrate organism macro such as shrimp, crabs and lobster. Dekapoda is an association biota with a coral reef ecosystem that has ecological functions, namely as detritus feeders and as a food source for other biota in the food chain in coral reef ecosystems. This aims of this study to analyze the diversity and density of decapods species on dead corals of Acropora sp. at Pelabuh Dalam Tuing and Turun Aban Beach. This research was conducted in July-August 2018 at the Pelabuh Dalam Tuing and Turun Aban Beach. Decapoda data retrieval uses the Dead Coral Head method. The results of the study on Pelabuh Dalam Tuing Beach found 140 individuals from 9 species of Decapoda on Acropora sp dead corals while Turun Aban Beach were found 242 individuals from 11 species. Diversity index values in both study locations 2,510 and 2,533. The uniformity index value in both study locations 0,884 and 0,871. The dominance index values in the two study locations 0,214 and 0,208. Species density in both study locations had an average value of 0.0121 ind/ and 0.0165 ind/.

The development of herbaceous species according to the time of monitoring at certain sample locations in the PT Adaro Indonesia reclamation area has never been published. The purpose of the study was to compare the diversity of species and the similarity of plant communities growing in certain locations in two consecutive monitoring periods. Four locations that have been revegetated were sampled. At each location, 13 measuring plots (20 m x 20 m) were made and placed systematically. In each of these plots, 2 sub-plots (5 m x 5 m) were placed in 2 angles in opposite positions. From each sub-plot data in the form of herbaceous species names and number of individuals were collected. In one location, the number of plots changed because part of this location turned out to be active mining areas. The number of remaining plots (6 plots) was considered to not affect the results. Data is processed to obtain the density of each species at a certain location (Ki), the relative density of certain species (KRi), the frequency of each species at a certain location (Fi), the relative frequency of certain species (FRi), the importance value index (IVI), the index of species diversity Shannon-Wienner (H'), and the similarity index of the Dice community (IS). The number of species varies at each sample location and shows an increase from first monitoring to second monitoring. The species diversity index also increases. Community similarity index varies, both with calculations based on the presence or absence of species and based on the IVI. Both methods of calculation can be used but it is recommended to use calculations based on IVI.Keywords: Diversity, Monitoring period, Reclamation area, Similarity

Sentajo Protected Forest located in Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau Province. There is no information about vegetation diversity in this location. Therefore this study was conducted. This study aimed to determine the diversity of vegetation, structure, and composition of each community in Sentajo Protected Forest. The study was conducted in April-September 2016. A sampling design was determined using systematic sampling with random start. The sampling intensity used was 5%. The parameters measured in this study were the importance value index, similarity index between communities, species diversity index, evenness index, dominance index, regeneration, as well as horizontal and vertical structures. Based on the type of soil, elevation, and slope, 6 communities were grouped from the dense coverage area (forested). The results showed that the Sentajo Protected Forest had 424 flora consisted of 254 species, and 102 families. Sentajo Protected Forest had similarity index between 18 - 64%, species diversity index of 2.62 - 4.15, evenness index of 0.59 - 0.86, dominance index of 0.02 - 0.08. The larger the diameter of the tree, the smaller the number of individuals. The stratification of the canopy had 5 layers of canopy. Sentajo Protected Forest regeneration was relatively good as the number of seedlings> saplings> mature trees.Key words: community, composition and structure, diversity, Sentajo Protected Forest.

<p>Anthropogenic impact on the population of ground beetles leads to a change in their numbers, structure of dominance, density, species composition, spectrum of life forms. This makes the beetles Carabidae a convenient and informative bioindicator of the ecological state of biocenoses. The material for this work was the Carabidae collections conducted in June-August 2016-2017 in the park zone of different regions of Barnaul, differing in location, area, hydrological regime, vegetation cover, purpose and anthropogenic load. When processing the material, the quantitative, species and generic composition of the carabidae was determined, calculations were made for such indicators as the Berger-Parker dominance index, the Shannon species diversity index (Hs), and the Jacquard species similarity index. The fauna (Coleoptera, Carabidae) of the park zone of Barnaul is represented by 55 species belonging to 20 genera. The dominant group is represented by species belonging to steppe, forest and polyzonal groups. Forest-steppe species of ground beetles as dominants have not been identified in any of the investigated territories. The greatest variety of ecological groups was noted on the territory of the Yubileyny рark, which is explained by the presence of zones with various microclimatic conditions, the presence of a birch grove that flows through the park with the Pivovarka River, and a wide log in the park. Registered species belong to eight groups of life forms belonging to two classes - zoophagous and myxophytophagous. On the numerical and species abundance, zoophages predominate. The spectrum of life forms corresponds to the zonal spectrum characteristic of the forest-steppe zone.</p><p> </p>
