Deliberate examination of ladies' progress in the executives is moderately new. It started in North America, fundamentally in the USA, during the 1970s, in Western Europe in the mid 1980s and in Asia towards the mid-1980s to look at the role conflict face by ladies business people. Aim of this study is to decide the helpers and difficulties come before ladies business visionaries in IT sector. There are numerous components which urge ladies to enter in this field uniquely to gain cash, money related help to family, autonomy and so forth yet there are numerous obstacles before them like continuing in market, capital, sex biasness, and job struggle. Ladies face more job struggle then men business visionaries as social desire are more from them. Life partner's help is an incredible quality for them. Organizing capital is major ordeal for another business person. Furthermore, to maintain a business she should have a decent systems administration. Next to bunches of requirements on the off chance that she get support from her family and particularly from her life partner it will assist her a ton with maintaining her work-life-balance

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to review and conceptually explain the work-life balance of women entrepreneurs. Design/methodology/approach – Through the secondary data, selected papers have analysed to prepare a conceptual framework depicting the work-life balance of women entrepreneurs. Findings – Entrepreneurship has emerged as a global concept and contributed for economic development of the country. It utilizes competencies of entrepreneurs for success of their enterprises. Working women executives suffers the problem of work-life balance. Developing family responsibilities as well as their potential roles, generate the issue of role conflict. In order to overcome role conflict, they need to balance between work and personal life style. To gain more flexibility and control on their work and personal obligations, women start up their own business. They contribute in job creation, innovation, and economic development of nation through their entrepreneurial activities. Originality/value – It provides future direction to various researchers, academicians and policy makers in this field.


The study explores the adversities faced by wompreneurs (Women Entrepreneurs) of Odisha and talks about their work-life balance issues. The paper presents the viewpoint (motivation) of wompreneurs as to why they think of starting an enterprise of their own. Focus is also laid onthe supportive factors of wompreneurs and factors that disrupt maintaining their work-life balance.The present exploratory paper is the outcome of a pilot study that has been performed using thematic investigation & analysis to find out solutions for the above-mentioned issues. For this paper, Qualitative research is used, which is conducted by assimilating data from personal interviews and thematically analyzing it. Suggestions for better work-life balance are given at the end. The area of work-life balance is devoid of studies in India, where wompreneurs are expected to have a better work-life balance as they are their own “boss”, the paper tries to explore the authenticity of such assumptions. The model has been devised with the above research objectives to provide insight into motivating factors and work-life balance issues of wompreneurs, which can help the Government, policy-makers, research fraternity and other training counselling institutions to emphasize such emerging issues that would lead to empowered women as well as an empowered Nation. Study level/applicability This case can be used in the core course on entrepreneurship for Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Master of Business Administration/Post Graduate Diploma in Management (MBA/PGDM) students. It will help them to understand the motivations and challenges of women entrepreneurs, strategies to manage challenges, interactive style of leadership and their contribution to the economic growth of the country. Subject area Entrepreneurship. Case overview Roopa Rani, co-founded a digital design company, DesignTheme Innoventics (DTI), with her husband Yoganand, in November 2007, on the first floor of their residence. Yoganand’s creativity and Roopa’s determination made them bootstrap, scale slow and steady. As a novice to the industry, the initial days posed many challenges. Roopa hired artists to be appointed as designers, which gave them a unique selling preposition. They progressed slowly from a team of 2 to 20, with a revenue of INR 0.3M per annum to INR 12M per annum. As the company grew, Roopa wanted Yoganand’s support in handling the responsibilities, and hence, converted DTI into a limited liability partnership in 2013 and the couple were directors. As the client base improved, the need for shifting to a bigger space became more evident. A calculative risk-taker, Roopa, was forced to move DTI to a bigger office space end 2017, with a rent of INR60,000 per month. Meanwhile, they became a team of 20, with revenue of INR12m. The shift from no rent to a rented space made DTI slip to break-even. However, after two years, they moved into a smaller space and it coincided with the COVID-19 outbreak. Although the backlog orders were processed during the first quarter of 2020–2021, the business for the next quarter was affected. Social distancing norms created a shift in the way of doing business, which was a boon for a designing company like DTI. Now, the task before this self-made woman entrepreneur was to formulate strategies to scale up the business. Expected learning outcomes After analysing the case, the students will be able to: i. Value the contribution of women entrepreneurs towards the economy. ii. Examine the motivational factors and challenges of women entrepreneurs. iii. Understand the importance of networking. iv. Appraise the socio-cultural factors in a patriarchal society and their impact on the work-life balance of a woman entrepreneur. v. The purpose of this research is to understand the various challenges and the work–life balance of women entrepreneurs working in small-scale industries (SSI), and to develop models for the same. The paper discusses the various viewpoints of women entrepreneurs of SSI given by them in personal interviews and explores in detail the difficulties and problems they face from generation to setting up of enterprise and making it run successfully. It also talks about the difficulties they face from society and the kind of anxiety and fear they have to overcome to reach this stage. This exploratory report is the result of a pilot study that has been conducted using thematic analysis to discover solutions for the same. Qualitative research method is being used for the pilot study conducted using thematic analysis by gathering data from personal interviews. The two most important challenges faced by women entrepreneurs managing small scale industries relate to socio-personal issues and managing relationships. Identification of challenges and work–life balance issues faced by women entrepreneurs in SSI and development of models for the same, that can be used for further research by academicians & by various Government and academic institutions for training and development, contributing to the growth of women entrepreneurs in India. The research is an honest attempt to realize the various challenges and work–life balance issues an Indian woman entrepreneur faces in SSI, so that models can be developed, leading to more woman participation and contributing to entrepreneurial growth.

The current study is to find out the impact of Work Life balance, Role Conflict and Work Overload on Employees Turnover Intention with the mediating role of job stress of Abdul Wali Khan University (AWKUM) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Working in educational institutions is complex and dynamic in nature, therefore in these conditions employees faces many stresses. Referable to the most troubling of these fears the most affected relationship is the low performance of employees working in Abdul Wali Khan University (AWKUM) because of the stress. Different stressor in the management of universities like Work Life Balance, Role conflict and Work Overload are important determinants of stress. The workplace has some harsh realities, worldwide one of the basic challenges facing in an organization is their employee’s performance affected by stress. The employees who are working in different sectors of an organization have to deal with stress. Similarly, the university workers are among the same to deal with the stress. The performance of an organization is dependent on employee’s working ability and if the employees are in stress than their overall performance will be negatively affected, resulting in inefficiency and staff turnover. . To study stress in universities, the survey has conducted through a questionnaire designed by the Donald A Buckingham (2004) and KavithaVenugobal (2017). The questionnaire was sent to 300 respondents and 270 answered the questionnaire, which represents a response rate of 89.6%. Based on data collected, the correlation and regression of the variables were carried out in SPSS. The outcomes of the analysis show that Work Life Balance negatively affects the stress level of employees while Role Conflict and Work overload positively affect the job stress level of employees. As the job stress is the mediator in the study, its effect on employee turnover intention is positive. This study will help decision-makers to identify important stresses and see their impact on job stress.
