Recently, such a direction of machine learning as reinforcement learning has been actively developing. As a consequence, attempts are being made to use reinforcement learning for solving computer vision problems, in particular for solving the problem of image classification. The tasks of computer vision are currently one of the most urgent tasks of artificial intelligence. The article proposes a method for image classification in the form of a deep neural network using reinforcement learning. The idea of the developed method comes down to solving the problem of a contextual multi-armed bandit using various strategies for achieving a compromise between exploitation and research and reinforcement learning algorithms. Strategies such as -greedy, -softmax, -decay-softmax, and the UCB1 method, and reinforcement learning algorithms such as DQN, REINFORCE, and A2C are considered. The analysis of the influence of various parameters on the efficiency of the method is carried out, and options for further development of the method are proposed.

In this study, the focus was on the development of green energy and future prediction for the consumption of current energy sources and green energy development using an improved deep learning (DL) algorithm. In addition to the analysis of the current energy consumption used for the natural gas and oil as fuel, deep neural network algorithm is used to train the system as well as to process the data obtained previously, ranging from literature from the year 2003 until the year 2019, for consumption of fuel. Also, using the proposed algorithm to predict the development of green energy consumption till 2030 is presented in terms of solar and wind generators. The resulting study also focuses on depletion of energy currently used or pollution caused because of it. The green energy controlling issue can take effect by using multiple layers of handling different features extracted from different sources and then learning the system to control it.This study aims to take advantage of carbon emissions to reduce their impact and dependence in the future on environmentally friendly renewable energies. Predicting the correct and precise amount of energy consumption and increasing the amount of environmentally friendly energy lead to a healthy ecosystem. The expected green energy consumption in the future is almost 78.25 EJ in 2030 and will be, in total energy average, 56% in 2045. The aim is to reduce dependency on costly and environmentally harmful fuels.

The Max-cut problem is a well-known combinatorial optimization problem, which has many real-world applications. However, the problem has been proven to be non-deterministic polynomial-hard (NP-hard), which means that exact solution algorithms are not suitable for large-scale situations, as it is too time-consuming to obtain a solution. Therefore, designing heuristic algorithms is a promising but challenging direction to effectively solve large-scale Max-cut problems. For this reason, we propose a unique method which combines a pointer network and two deep learning strategies (supervised learning and reinforcement learning) in this paper, in order to address this challenge. A pointer network is a sequence-to-sequence deep neural network, which can extract data features in a purely data-driven way to discover the hidden laws behind data. Combining the characteristics of the Max-cut problem, we designed the input and output mechanisms of the pointer network model, and we used supervised learning and reinforcement learning to train the model to evaluate the model performance. Through experiments, we illustrated that our model can be well applied to solve large-scale Max-cut problems. Our experimental results also revealed that the new method will further encourage broader exploration of deep neural network for large-scale combinatorial optimization problems.

Abstract Objective: With the development in the field of neural networks, Explainable AI (XAI), is being studied to ensure that artificial intelligence models can be explained. There are some attempts to apply neural networks to neuroscientific studies to explain neurophysiological information with high machine learning performances. However, most of those studies have simply visualized features extracted from XAI and seem to lack an active neuroscientific interpretation of those features. In this study, we have tried to actively explain the high-dimensional learning features contained in the neurophysiological information extracted from XAI, compared with the previously reported neuroscientific results. Approach: We designed a deep neural network classifier using 3D information (3D DNN) and a 3D class activation map (3D CAM) to visualize high-dimensional classification features. We used those tools to classify monkey electrocorticogram (ECoG) data obtained from the unimanual and bimanual movement experiment. Main results: The 3D DNN showed better classification accuracy than other machine learning techniques, such as 2D DNN. Unexpectedly, the activation weight in the 3D CAM analysis was high in the ipsilateral motor and somatosensory cortex regions, whereas the gamma-band power was activated in the contralateral areas during unimanual movement, which suggests that the brain signal acquired from the motor cortex contains information about both contralateral movement and ipsilateral movement. Moreover, the hand-movement classification system used critical temporal information at movement onset and offset when classifying bimanual movements. Significance: As far as we know, this is the first study to use high-dimensional neurophysiological information (spatial, spectral, and temporal) with the deep learning method, reconstruct those features, and explain how the neural network works. We expect that our methods can be widely applied and used in neuroscience and electrophysiology research from the point of view of the explainability of XAI as well as its performance.

Deep learning has arrived with a great number of advances in the research of machine learning and its models. Due to the advancements recently in the field of deep learning and its models especially in the fields like NLP and Computer Vision in supervised learning for which we have to pre-definably decide a dataset and train our model completely on it and make predictions but in case if we have any new samples of data on which we want our model to be predicted then we have to completely retrain the model, which is computationally costly therefore to avoid re-training the model, we add the new samples on the previously learnt features from the pre- trained model called Incremental Learning. In the paper we proposed the system to overcome the process of catastrophic forgetting we introduced the concept of building on pre-trained model.

Catch phrases are the important phrases that precisely explain the document. They represent the context of the whole document. They can also be used to retrieve relevant prior cases by the judges and lawyers for assuring justice in the domain of law. Currently, catch phrases are extracted using statistical methods, machine learning techniques, and deep learning techniques. The authors propose a sequence to sequence (Seq2Seq) deep neural network to extract catch phrases from legal documents. They have employed several layers, namely embedding layer, encoder-decoder layer, projection layer, and loss layer to build the deep neural network. The methodology is evaluated on IRLeD@FIRE-2017 dataset and the method has obtained 0.787 and 0.607 as mean average precision and recall scores respectively. Results show that the proposed method outperforms the existing systems.

Abstract Today, India is one of the worst flood-affected countries in the world, with the recent disaster in Kerala in August 2018 being a prime example. A good amount of work has been carried out by employing Internet of Things (IoT) and machine learning (ML) techniques in the past for flood occurrence based on rainfall, humidity, temperature, water flow, water level etc. However, the challenge is that no one has attempted the possibility of occurrence of flood based on temperature and rainfall intensity. So accordingly Deep Neural Network has been employed for predicting the occurrence of flood based on temperature and rainfall intensity. In addition, a deep learning model is compared with other machine learning models (support vector machine (SVM), K-nearest neighbor (KNN) and Naïve Bayes) in terms of accuracy and error. The results indicate that the deep neural network can be efficiently used for flood forecasting with highest accuracy based on monsoon parameters only before flood occurrence.

In recent years, deep learning has garnered tremendous success in a variety of application domains. This new field of machine learning has been growing rapidly and has been applied to most traditional application domains, as well as some new areas that present more opportunities. Different methods have been proposed based on different categories of learning, including supervised, semi-supervised, and un-supervised learning. Experimental results show state-of-the-art performance using deep learning when compared to traditional machine learning approaches in the fields of image processing, computer vision, speech recognition, machine translation, art, medical imaging, medical information processing, robotics and control, bioinformatics, natural language processing, cybersecurity, and many others. This survey presents a brief survey on the advances that have occurred in the area of Deep Learning (DL), starting with the Deep Neural Network (DNN). The survey goes on to cover Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), Recurrent Neural Network (RNN), including Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) and Gated Recurrent Units (GRU), Auto-Encoder (AE), Deep Belief Network (DBN), Generative Adversarial Network (GAN), and Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL). Additionally, we have discussed recent developments, such as advanced variant DL techniques based on these DL approaches. This work considers most of the papers published after 2012 from when the history of deep learning began. Furthermore, DL approaches that have been explored and evaluated in different application domains are also included in this survey. We also included recently developed frameworks, SDKs, and benchmark datasets that are used for implementing and evaluating deep learning approaches. There are some surveys that have been published on DL using neural networks and a survey on Reinforcement Learning (RL). However, those papers have not discussed individual advanced techniques for training large-scale deep learning models and the recently developed method of generative models.
