Abstract The Western Desert is a wide area of Iraq, it is bordered by three Arab countries, and characterized by the great plant diversity in the rainy years, including year 2019, during the spring season of the same year, a number of field trips were carried out in which wild plants were collected, and among them was Astragalus vogelii (webb) Bornm. of the papilionaceae family for the first time in Iraq, specifically in the Obealah valley, which intersects with the highway road towards Jordan and Syria (about 18 km. west of Rutba). The species was identificated according to the Flora of neighboring and near countries, the morphological description of the sprcies was done through a taxonomic treatment supported by photographic and microscopic images for all floral and vegetative parts, as well as anatomical description of the stem based on the cross section. Amap was also developed the specifies the locations of the species distribution. After making sure that there was no previous sample for the species in the Iraqi Herbaria, the sample of this study were deposited in the Iraqi National Herbarium with numbers 60340, 60341, 60342 and in the Anbar University Herbarium with numbers 6670, 6671, 6672 and 6673.

During the filed survey of   140-160 kilometers region and on both sides of the highway west of Ramadi city in the western desert district of Iraq, and in late spring of 2019, confirmed the recorded of the Ogastemma genus for the first time in Iraq, which was characterized by being a monotypic genus belonging to Boraginaceae family and represented by Ogastemma pusillum. After the identification of the species, which was based on the Flora of the neighboring countries, the species was studied taxonomically. The study worked on describing and photographing all the vegetative and floral parts, anatomy of stem, stomatal complex in leaves, and pollen grains. The plant specimens were preserved under the numbers 60264, 60265 in the Iraqi national herbarium. A morphological study showed that there was uniform indumentum of the epidermis of vegetative organs was appressed-hispid, represented by non-glandular trichomes, medium length of 800-1500 micrometer.

Abstract A taxonomic treatment of the genera Turnera and Piriqueta in the state of Pernambuco, northeastern Brazil, is presented. Fourteen species of Turnera and six species of Piriqueta were found in the Atlantic Forest and Caatinga, of which nine are endemic to Brazil. Turnera pernambucensis is threatened and restricted to the Atlantic Forest of Pernambuco, while T. joelii is a new record for the state. The species predominate in steppe savanna and semideciduous seasonal forest, but several of them grow naturally in anthropized areas. Catimbau National Park is the locality with the highest species richness. Tristyly is recorded for the first time in Piriqueta guianensis. Identification keys, descriptions, illustrations, distribution maps, and comments about habitat, flowering, fruiting, and morphological relationships are provided.

This study was recorded a new genus and species of Iraq, Tephrosia nubica (Boiss.) Baker during the field trips in the Western Desert District, specifically in Al- Walaj valley, which cutting the Iraq- Jordan highway (75 km. West of Rutba) in winter and spring seasons of the year 2019. The species was identified depending on Flora of neighboring and nearby countries with a comprehensive morphological description as well as some drawing and photos for vegetative and floral (reproductive) parts with a distribution map of the species. Some plant samples of the species collected in the Iraqi national herbarium were deposited in numbers 60038,60039, and 60040, in addition to Anbar University herbarium in numbers 4329, 4330 and 4331 after confirming that there is no specimens of genus and species in all Iraqi herbaria.

Abstract A taxonomic treatment for Boraginales (Boraginaceae s.l.) and Lamiales (Lamiaceae and Verbenaceae) in the Engenheiro Avidos Ecological Park, a full-protection reserve located in the semiarid region of Paraíba State in northeastern Brazil is presented in this study. At the Park, a total of 22 species were encountered, including nine species of Boraginaceae s.l., six species of Lamiaceae, and seven species of Verbenaceae. Vitex orinocensis (Lamiaceae) was found for the first time for Caatinga and also represents a new record for Paraíba state. Morphological descriptions, keys for separating the families and respective species; data concerning flowering, fruiting, geographic distributions, and of the preferred habitats of the species found in the study area are also provided.

Abstract: This work presents the taxonomic study of the native species of Bombacoideae Burnett (Malvaceae) in the state of Paraíba, Northeastern Brazil. The taxonomic treatment included keys for identifying genera and species, morphological descriptions, diagnostic illustrations, comments on taxonomic affinities, and additional information on geographical distribution, habitat, and flowering and fruiting of the species. Three genera and six species were recorded: Ceiba Mill., represented by C. glaziovii (Kuntze) K. Schum., is a new record for the Atlantic Forest; Eriotheca Schott & Endl., represented by E. gracilipes (K. Schum.) A. Robyns and E. macrophylla (K. Schum.) A. Robyns, is a new record for Paraíba; and Pseudobombax Dugand, which is represented by P. marginatum (A.St.-Hil., Juss. & Cambess.) A. Robyns, P. parvifolium Carv.-Sobr. & L.P. Queiroz and P. simplicifolium A. Robyns Robyns - the last one registered for the first time in Paraíba in this study.

AbstractAs a result of the research carried out in Lakes Duszatyńskie and the Olchowaty stream, a new European site with Geissleria declivis (Hust.) Lange-Bert. was found — a new species for Poland. The highest abundance of G. declivis has been observed on sandy substrate and small stones in the littoral zone of the Upper Lake during the spring season. The species occurred together with Achnanthidium minutissimum (Kütz.) Czarn. var. minutissimum, A. catenatum (Bily & Marvan), Fragilaria leptostauron (Ehrenb.) Hust. var. leptostauron and F. pinnata Ehrenb. var. pinnata. Our observations revealed that G. declivis develops in lentic water bodies with medium organic matter content and neutral pH. The species seems to prefer mesotrophic waters with low to medium electrolyte content and oligosaprobous. The species morphology and identity is documented in a series of light microscopic (LM) images and for the first time under a scanning electron microscope (SEM).

Albiziaprocera (Roxb.) Benth.is a common ornamental and medicinal plant species distributed throughout the India. This plant was found to be very susceptive to different insect pest attack. The present study was done to investigate Heteropsyllacubana infestation on A. proceraand its morphometrics at Institute of Forest Productivity, Ranchi, India during 2014 and 2015. The infestation of H. cubanawas first time observed A. procerain Jharkhand. Infestation pattern of H. cubana was recorded and it was found that H. cubana as a serious pest of A. procera in Jharkhand. Additionally, morphometrics of egg, nymphal stages and adult of this psyllid insect was also recorded in this study.
