The complex interrelationship between the endodontic and periodontal lesion has always lead to controversies, confusion and debate. The pulpal infection can spread and cause a periodontal lesion or vice-versa. Detecting the origin of the infection is crucial. Thus, a careful investigation of the history, symptoms, clinical and radiographic features should be done to reach a denitive diagnosis and treatment plan. An interdisciplinary approach to such cases gives a higher success rate. The present case report deals with the management of an endo-perio lesion with an unforeseen double le separation. The novelness in this case lies in the management of the double le separation in a single canal using metapex.

Anterior spacing is a common esthetic problem of patient during dental consultation. The most common etiology include tooth size and arch length discrepancy. Maxillary lateral incisors vary in form more than any other tooth in the mouth except the third molars. Microdontia is a condition where the teeth are smaller than the normal size. Microdontia of maxillary lateral incisor is called as “peg lateral”, that exhibit converging mesial and distal surfaces of crown forming a cone like shape. A carefully documented diagnosis and treatment plan are essential if the clinician is to apply the most effective approach to address the patient’s needs. A patient sometimes requires a multidisciplinary approach to correct the esthetics and to improve the occlusion. This case report describes the management of an adult female patient with a proclined upper anterior teeth, upper anterior spacing, deep bite and peg shaped upper right lateral incisor tooth through orthodontic and restorative treatment approach.

The present case report describes a rare case of dens evaginatus on the labial surface of mandibular incisor and interdisciplinary management including endodontic and periodontal treatment. A 10-year-old girl presented unusual whitish tubercle-like structure penetrated through the buccal gingiva of mandibular later incisor. In cone-beam computed tomographic view, pulpal tissue was extended from the principal root to the tubercle. Following full thickness flap reflection, the tubercle was carefully removed, resulting in dentin and pin-point pulp exposure. In order to prevent pulp necrosis and facilitate periodontal attachment to this area, Biodentine and enamel matrix derivative were applied. Gingival defect was compensated using a collagen matrix. Up to 2 years, harmonious gingiva state and no loss of tooth vitality were observed. In summary, dens evaginatus on mandibular later incisor could be successfully treated by means of interdisciplinary approach.

The interrelationship between pulpal and periodontal disease primarily occurs through the intimate anatomic and vascular connections between the pulp and the periodontium. The purpose of this case report is to present the treatment of two cases of mandibular first molars displaying endodontic-periodontal lesions with and without the use of regenerative bone techniques. The endodontic treatments were performed under an operating microscope in two appointments. Later, periodontal therapy was performed with a non-surgical approach in one case and with guided bone regeneration in the other. A 12-month radiographic and clinical follow-up showed periapical and periodontal healing in both cases. The present case report demonstrates that an interdisciplinary approach can help improve the prognosis and maintain natural dentition. Moreover, periodontal regenerative therapy can be performed to guide the wound healing towards the regeneration of lost periodontal structures.

Abstract Case report: young adult woman with esthetic complaints regarding her smile and frontal teeth aspect. At first glance, the problem seemed to be only the shape of the lateral upper incisors and a small diastema between the central incisors. The diagnosis shared between the orthodontist and the prosthetist led us to consider some other important aspects, such as the deep bite, the teeth inclination and the lips support. All these findings led us to consider that the right way to improve the esthetics of the patient’s smile was to plan an orthodontic treatment. This would serve not only for the distribution of the spaces, but mostly it would improve all other problems, before the restoration of the upper lateral teeth with two ceramic veneers. Results: the treatment plan achieved the right distribution of spaces for upper lateral incisors, significant correction of the incisors inclination with important reduction of overbite and better lip support, upper laterals restorations with ceramic feldspathic veneers, obtaining a good integration with natural teeth satisfying patient complaint. Conclusion: in cases which involve interdisciplinary approach, the fundamental step comes from the beginning, when only an initial diagnosis shared among the team of specialists can define the patient problems from different points of view. In this way, we can better understand the competency fields and plan the right treatment and time sequence.

Eruption disturbances of the mandibular first molars can cause multiple problems in occlusal development although they are extremely rare. Early diagnosis and treatment are very important to prevent complications associated with eruption disturbances. The present case report describes the treatment of two cases of eruption disturbances of the mandibular first permanent molar. A fixed appliance composed of a cantilever spring with mandibular second deciduous molar as an anchor tooth was used to tract the impacted mandibular first permanent molar. The success of both cases shows that this novel traction appliance can be used to induce the eruption of an impacted mandibular first permanent molar within a short time in patients with intact mandibular second deciduous molar as an anchor tooth.

The pseudo-Class III can be defined as a functional reflex of an anterior positioning of the mandible, an acquired muscular position that simulates a mesiocclusion. The diagnosis and treatment plan of this condition must be based on a cephalometric evaluation that provides information about the relative contributions of the skeletal and dental components to the malocclusion. There is still great controversies about when is the best moment to start the Class III treatment. The purpose of this article is to describe a case report in which a Class III patient was successfully treated with reverse traction.

A healthy and beautiful smile can affect appearance and confidence. One of the aesthetic problems in dentistry that is often complained of by patients is excessive gingival display (gummy smile). The excessive gingival display can be caused by several factors, one of which is altered passive eruption (APE). One of the treatments to correct gummy smile related to APE is crown lengthening. Crown lengthening can be with bone reduction (gingivectomy with bone reduction) or without bone reduction (gingivectomy). Crown Lengthening with bone reduction is a surgical procedure that aims to maintain the dentogingival complex and to improve smile aesthetics. The purpose of this case report is to determine the crown lengthening with bone reduction (gingivectomy with bone reduction) procedure as a gummy smile treatment related to APE .A23-year-old female patient, came to Dental Hospital of Universitas Airlangga with complaints of her upper gum which not in the same length and the teeth looked short, she considered her smile was less aesthetic. After conducting analyses relating to aesthetics and periodontal tissue, crown lengthening with bone reduction was chosen for this patient treatment. The treatment results are quite good, visible gingival margins that matched the gingival zenith and improved patient's smile profile. APE as the etiology of patient's gummy smile can be corrected. There are no post-surgical complications such as excessive pain and infection. A proper diagnosis, treatment plan, and good techniques can produce a harmonious smile on the patient.

Aim: The aim of this report is to describe the management of a prosthodontic patient expressing unrealistic expectations with respect to the transition to edentulousness. Objectives: To outline (1) the diagnosis and explicit expectations of the patient on presentation (2) considerations made during treatment planning to address the wishes of the first time prosthodontic patient (3) a sequential treatment plan utilizing transitional partial removable dentures to manage the change to edentulousness (4) functional and aesthetic result achieved. Results: Delivery of immediate removable partial dentures retaining key abutment teeth in upper and lower arches was a viable prosthodontic solution in the transition to edentulousness of a patient expecting unrealistic treatment outcomes. Conclusions: Addressing impractical expectations and devising a treatment plan amenable to both clinician and patient is difficult. Strategies to manage these wishes in prosthodontic dentistry can include transitional partial dentures. Clinical relevance: Practitioners who encounter similar situations may consider this report valuable.
