Abstract Backgroud Synovial chondromatosis is a rare synovial-derived metaplasia disease that comes from the formation of cartilage nodules within the synovial connective tissue of the joint. Knee tuberculosis is a disease caused mostly by the pulmonary tuberculosis and a few by tuberculosis of the digestive tract and lymphatic. tube. Case presentation Herein we report a 3-year-old child admitted by intermittent swelling of left knee joint with lameness for half a year, the patient received surgical treatment. The loose bodies filled in the joint cavity was taken out and the degenerative synovium was excised. Biopsy confirmed as synovial chondromatosis combined with synovial tuberculosis of knee joint. After 6 months follow-ups, knee swelling and claudication get totally recovered and the gait of patient recover back to normal. Conclusion Careful investigation of children with knee pain is recommended to avoid misdiagnosis, Synovial chondromatosis combine with tuberculosis should be considered a differential diagnosis in a child with knee pain.

This research is an attempt to reveal the resources from which scholars took the prophetic names; the importance of the research lies in its relation to the prophetic names that are not taken without legal evidence, since they are within the general scope of the prophetic hadith, the research aims to identify the prophetic names, determine the valid criteria to be adopted, identify the suspicions in their error, to collect the nominal resources of the authors in the prophetic names , knowledge of these resources order in terms of validity, I have adopted the descriptive analytical approach explaining the resources and their ranks and their derivational methods, verifying the resources' validity, ways of evaluating. The result of research has concluded with four criteria to verify the prophetic names which are including validity of names’ resources, validity of derivation, confirmation of narration, and to not indicate inappropriate meanings. Also, It limited the nominal resources in eight resources including the explicit Qur’anic text, related to Qur’anic text, anomalous Qur’anic recitation, accepted hadith, rejected hadith, mauquf and maqthu traditions, Bible and Gospel and previous books, and the poems that praised or lamented Prophet ﷺ. Moreover, the research arranged the resources according to their strength and reliability into five ranks which are proper names of prophet ﷺ, names mentioned explicitly in Qur’an, names mentioned in valid and confirmed anomalous Qur’anic recitation and accepted hadith, names mentioned in poems that praised or lamented Prophet ﷺ by his companions, and then names and descriptions that mentioned in previous books and commonly accepted by scholars in this filed. The research recommended the careful investigation of the manuscript in the books of the prophetic names, and further research into the inference of the considered names.

Abstract Systemic light chain (AL) amyloidosis is a protein misfolding disorder characterized by the deposition of abnormal immunoglobulin light chains in fibrillary aggregates, resulting in end-organ damage. Several unique challenges face treating physicians, including delayed diagnosis, advanced vital organ involvement, and morbidity with treatment. Aggressive supportive care and risk-adapted application of plasma cell–directed therapies are the cornerstones of management. The therapeutic revolution in multiple myeloma will likely further expand the arsenal against plasma cells. Careful investigation of these agents will be critical to establish their role in this fragile population. The promise of fibril-directed therapies to restore organ function remains despite early disappointments. In this review, we discuss new therapies to tackle AL amyloidosis using a case-based approach.

This thesis explores the remarkable, surprising and enduring presence of religion within the writings of New Zealand women poets since the 1970s. Analysing a comprehensive range of poems, I argue that religion is a dynamic and compelling feature of women’s poetry, emerging in a number of distinctive forms and tones. Using a thematic analysis, I explore religion in relation to domesticities, body and flesh, and whenua/land. I show that women poets deploy and rework religious ideas in ways that illuminate their gendered perspectives and experiences. Arguing that religion should be brought back into the centre of the scholarly analysis of New Zealand literature, I advance a fresh approach to the concept of religion. This framework acknowledges the interdependence and mutual imbrication of ‘religion’ and the ‘secular’, and also facilitates attention to ‘spirituality’. This expansive framework affords careful investigation into the interrelationships between all three of these modern categories. Having shown that religion permeates New Zealand women’s poetry and that attending to religion’s presence is vital for interpretation, I argue for a bona fide cross- disciplinary conversation between religious studies and literary studies; a revitalised investigation on ‘religion and literature’ will be productive for both fields.

Abstract Ferroelectric thin films are investigated for their potential in photovoltaic (PV) applications, owing to their high open-circuit voltage and switchable photovoltaic effect. The direction of the ferroelectric polarization can control the sign of the photocurrent through the ferroelectric layer, theoretically allowing for 100 percent switchability of the photocurrent with the polarization, which is particularly interesting for photo-ferroelectric memories. However, the quantitative relationship between photocurrent and polarization remains little studied. In this work, a careful investigation of the polarization-dependent photocurrent of epitaxial Pb(Zr,Ti)O3 thin films has been carried out, and has provided a quantitative determination of the unswitchable part of ferroelectric polarization. These results represent a systematic approach to study and optimize the switchability of photocurrent, and more broadly to get important insights on the ferroelectric behavior in all types of ferroelectric layers in which pinned polarization is difficult to investigate.

High dimensionality is the serious issue in the preprocessing of data mining. Having large number of features in the dataset leads to several complications for classifying an unknown instance. In a initial dataspace there may be redundant and irrelevant features present, which leads to high memory consumption, and confuse the learning model created with those properties of features. Always it is advisable to select the best features and generate the classification model for better accuracy. In this research, we proposed a novel feature selection approach and Symmetrical uncertainty and Correlation Coefficient (SU-CCE) for reducing the high dimensional feature space and increasing the classification accuracy. The experiment is performed on colon cancer microarray dataset which has 2000 features. The proposed method derived 38 best features from it. To measure the strength of proposed method, top 38 features extracted by 4 traditional filter-based methods are compared with various classifiers. After careful investigation of result, the proposed approach is competing with most of the traditional methods.

We present histopathological criteria for diagnosing keratoacanthoma (KA). In KA, four histological stages are recognized, which are the early/proliferative stage, well-developed stage, regressing stage and regressed stage. In diagnosing KA, we emphasize that KA consists of the proliferation of enlarged pale pink cells with ground glass-like cytoplasm without nuclear atypia, other than crateriform architecture. KA sometimes exhibits malignant transformation within the lesions. We describe the characteristics of benign and malignant epithelial crateriform tumors that should be differentiated from KA. We also present the data of histopathological diagnosis of lesions clinically diagnosed as KA, its natural course and related lesions after partial biopsy, and incidence of crateriform epithelial neoplasms. Based on these data, we recommend complete excision of the lesion when KA is clinically suspected, especially when the lesion is located on a sun-exposed area of an elderly patient. If complete excision is impossible, partial excision of a sufficient specimen with intact architecture is required. In such a case, however, careful investigation after biopsy will be needed, even if the histopathological diagnosis is KA, because there is some possibility that a conventional SCC lesion remains in the residual tissue.

Abstract Currently, spermiogram analysis is the most relevant method used to clarify the potential infertility of a couple. However, in some cases, the reasons for infertility remain obscure. Smoking is among the factors that have been described to adversely affect male fertility. Smoking increases oxidative stress and thus promotes various pathological processes. Comparative studies, particularly those on metabolomic changes in sperm and seminal plasma caused by smoking, have not yet been published. Thus, the present pilot study aimed at the mass spectrometric characterization of the metabolomes of specimens from both smoking and nonsmoking subjects and the comparison of the evaluated data in terms of sperm apoptosis and spermiogram parameters. The results provided evidence that the conventional spermiogram is not altered in smokers compared to nonsmokers. However, a more careful investigation of sperm cells by metabolomic profiling reveals profound effects of smoking on sperm: first, nitrogen oxide synthase, a marker of oxidative stress, is activated. Second, the uptake of fatty acids into sperm mitochondria is reduced, leading to an impaired energy supply. Third, phenylalanine hydroxylation and tryptophan degradation, which are both indications of altered tetrahydrobiopterin biosynthesis, are reduced. Moreover, flow cytometry approaches indicated increased sperm caspase-3 activity, a sign of apoptosis. The present study clearly shows the negative effects of smoking on semen quality. Especially for idiopathic cases, metabolomic profiling can help to shed light on male sub- or infertility.
