The continuous evolving of the information technology towards the enhanced agile and collective strides of working from the document driven working has turned the focus to the features of the information system development and the operations. These agile approaches have paved way for the concepts that provide an incorporated development and operations coined as the DevOps. The DevOps is an enterprise software development and viewed as the appropriate perception for the simultaneous distribution and the positioning of the working software. It enhances and modifies the relationship by promoting improved communication and the cooperation among the business unit. However the adoption of the Development and the Operation being a complex task the paper presents the review on the challenges and the benefits of the DevOps and also explores the DevOps to offer an enhancement in the adoption of the DevOps in the information systems.

The success of information systems development activities are influenced by technology and human resources. Experience and knowledge of team members is the key to performance improvements in the software development process. So the experience and knowledge are considered to be one of the main capitals in the success of a software development team. However, what if the information system development team are students who may not have experience at all ? Is the information system developed by an un-experienced team always fail ? Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a study to identify the factors that influence the student teams in information systems development project. The study was conducted with the literature study to establish research model. Furthermore, a survey conducted by distributing questionnaires to students of information systems whom are doing an internship in developing information systems. The results of the survey were analyzed quantitatively using Partial Least Square technique to test the proposed research model. The results of this study indicate that the development of information systems conducted by a team of students is significantly influenced by the Customer Relationship and Horizontal Relationship. Capability factor have a significant effect although the effect is small on the student teams.

Information Systems acquisition, implementation, and development have been taking place in business organization to gain the competitive advantage. Rapid advancement of Technology is also popping up unethical issues involving violations of End users' data protection and privacy. This article discusses standard quality practices adhere to which a good quality software product is guaranteed while supporting the organizational strategic needs. It presents a framework that bridges Quality software development process improvement with strategic needs of an organization. Standard practices under consideration includes Capability Maturity Model for Development (CMMI-DEV) while using multi-model Process Improvement approach where an organization could use Balance Score Card technique while setting its strategic goals and monitoring their performance related to Information System development, and also link it with Information System management framework “Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology” (COBIT) - 5 released by Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), so that users could easily switch between the two standards. In last benefits are reported for using quality practices to realize attainment of competitive advantage.

This study analyzes the interactions among individuals engaged in two information system development (ISD) projects aimed to support an organization created by the merger of previously independent entities. The literature on post-merger integration (PMI) suggests that new information systems (IS) that would span the boundaries of the previously independent firms need to be implemented to facilitate a specific level of integration. Yet, there is a lack of studies on the issue of post-merger boundary management during ISD projects. The authors draw on a sociomaterial perspective to analyze two ISD projects in a PMI context of a merger of three hospitals. In both projects, the final IS-enabled practices differed from the post-merger practices that had been planned by the new hospital management. The analysis suggests that post-merger practices were the result of dialectic processes of resistance to, and negotiation of, the two systems reconfiguration after their implementation.

The goal of human-computer interaction evolves from just making Internet systems easy to use to making them easy to develop. By now, most people are familiar with the basic functionalities of business applications. However, one fundamental challenge for the coming future is to develop Information Technology (IT) environments that allow users who do not have background in programming to develop or modify their own applications. In this chapter, the end-user computing is defined as an IT environment supported by methods, techniques, and tools that allow users of business information systems, who are acting as non-professional software developers, to create, modify, and extend a software system. The purpose of the research is to bridge the gap in the management science by investigating customer participation in information system development and its effect on users' future cooperation behavior. Beyond that, the theoretical framework linking information system development to customer satisfaction and intention toward future collaboration is proposed. In conclusion, the chapter reveals the huge potential of users' capabilities for the improvement of business information system design and development process.

The aim of the present research work is to develop an information system development process and a model for the development of new generation information systems. New age information systems are those information systems that are capable of fulfilling the demand of highly dynamic information requirements derived from the competitive environments of business organizations and support controlling the complexity involved in their maintenance and software configuration management. Present research work analyzes the theoretical, financial, technical and practical problems related to the information system development, maintenance and change management to propose an appropriate system development process and a model for the development as well as maintenance of information systems with maximum software reuse. The proposed system development process and model provide inherent support to the business organizations in having total control over information system development, maintenance and software configuration management.

IT Helpdesk is a service unit that is responsible to help in overcoming the problems related to the usage of ICT facilities at Universitas AMIKOM Yogyakarta. IT Helpdesk provides some form of services that can be utilized by academic community at Universitas AMIKOM Yogyakarta in usage of ICT services. This unit services include installation, troubleshooting software, service and computer maintenance. This research discusses about how information system development for user, consumer and manajamen IT Helpdesk. IT Helpdesk of Universitas AMIKOM Yogyakarta currently has an information system that includes the management of user registration and financial data. However, there is no information systems that provides detailed information from the consumer, which can be utilized by consumers IT Helpdesk itself in tracking the services status. Additionally, the current system has not been able to support management requirements in monitoring and evaluating the performance of technicians. The results of the research is a system that can provide information with a fast and accurate to the consumer and management of IT Helpdesk.

This writing discusses the creation of a correspondence filing information system with the aim of making it easier for the secretariat to archive letters in incoming and outgoing mail data at the Environmental Service, and minimizing data loss, and speeding up the process of retrieval of archived data at the time needed so as not to repetition of archiving so that it is faster and more precise. The development of information systems uses the programming language PHP, HTML, CSS, and Java Script and uses the MySQL database. The information system development method uses the waterfall method. The results of this research can be implemented in the form of a web-based archiving information system.

Handling an event requires a repetitive and complex task; from initial preparation until its conclusion. One of the important elements in an innovation event is the jurying process. The jurying process usually involves tasks with higher priority and must be completed in limited duration, usually within 4 to 5 days. The inexistence of inexpensive jurying information systems leads to the development of the i-Jury management system (i-Jury). The i-jury management system was developed based on PHP programming language, MySQL database, and jQuery. The development of the information system follows the System Development Lifecycle methodology.  The findings show that the development of the information system speeds up the process of managing jury, project management, as well as speeding up the disbursement of results, comparing to previous traditional evaluation methods
