AbstractThis expert voice paper presents a comprehensive rationale of multi-level modeling. It aims not only at a systematic assessment of its prospects, but also at encouraging applications of multi-level modeling in business information systems and at providing a motivation for future research. The assessment is developed from a comparison of multi-level modeling with object-oriented, general-purpose modeling languages (GPMLs) and domain-specific modeling languages (DSMLs). To foster a differentiated evaluation, we propose a multi-perspective framework that accounts, among others, for essential design conflicts, different types of users, as well as economic aspects. Besides the assessment of the additional abstraction offered by multi-level modeling, the evaluation also identifies specific drawbacks and remaining challenges. Based on the results of the comparative assessment, in order to foster the adoption and further development of multi-level modeling, we discuss the prospects of supplementing multi-level modeling languages with multi-level programming languages and suggest possible dissemination strategies customized for different groups of users. The paper concludes with an outline of future research.

The large number of courses offered in an educational institution raises new problems related to the selection of specialization courses. Students experience difficulties and confusion in determining the course to be taken when compiling the study plan card. The purpose of this study was to cluster student value data. Then the values that have been grouped are seen in the pattern (pattern) of the appearance of the data based on the values they got previously so that students can later use the results of the patterning as a guideline for taking what skill courses in the next semester. The method used in this research is the K-Means and FP-Growth methods. The results of this rule can provide input to students or academic supervisors when compiling student study plan cards. Lecturers and students can analyze the right specialization subject by following the pattern given. This study produces a pattern that shows that the specialization course with the theme of business information systems is more followed by students than the other 2 themes

This paper provides a bibliometric analysis of the digital sustainability literature from four angles: economics, management/business, information systems/IT, and sociology/communication. The core contribution is to map the development of the literature in digital sustainability over time and across various clusters. Through VOSviewer analysis, we identify the main keywords used by the literature; the countries from which most of the literature is emerging; the most influential authors working in the field; and, their impacts by observing their citations and networks. Moreover, through CitNetExplorer analysis, we track the development of the field over time, i.e., identify key publications and divide those into clusters. The analysis finds a much more developed coverage of digital sustainability in the scholarship of management/business and therefore reveals a clear need for greater exploration of the sociological and economic aspects of digital sustainability. We argue that more robust collaboration patterns should be established among all four considered disciplines to achieve progress in digital sustainability. We envisage that digital sustainability as a field of study will mature as publications and ideas will become consolidated. Such integration strengthens the evolution of the field and topics across all four considered disciplines.

E-commerce security is part of the Web security problems that arise in all business information systems that operate over the Internet. However, in e-commerce security, the dimensions of web security – secrecy, integrity, and availability-are focused on protecting the consumer’s and e-store site’s assets from unauthorized access, use, alteration, or destruction. The paper presents an overview of the recent security issues in e-commerce applications and the usual points the attacker can target, such as the client (data, session, identity); the client computer; the network connection between the client and the webserver; the web server; third party software vendors. Discussed are effective approaches and tools used to address different e-commerce security threats. Special attention is paid to Cross-Site Scripting (XSS), Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF), phishing attacks, SQL injection, Man-in-the-middle, bots, denial-of-service, encryption, firewalls, SSL digital signatures, security certificates, PCI compliance. The research outlines and suggests many security solutions and best practices.

The role of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) as a driving force for the nation's economy has weakened when faced with the COVID-19 pandemic. It is estimated that 50 percent of the total business operators in micro and small businesses went bankrupt during the pandemic. A community service program is needed to encourage MSMEs to survive and develop at this time. No exception, MSME players in Magelang City who are engaged in tofu production in Trunan Village are facing a decrease in production scale due to COVID-19 and need assistance through community service activities. This service activity was carried out with a blended approach between offline and online to reduce the risk of the COVID-19 transmission but still be productive during the pandemic. Field identification was carried out as an initial step to find out the problems faced by tofu producers. The problem faced by tofu producer in Trunan Village is the low innovation of tofu products and the weak use of business information systems, which results in weakening tofu production. The low level of tofu product innovation causes the final product to be marketed only in conventional markets and does not have a target end-consumer. The sales information system was implemented to encourage the sale of tofu and derivative products to the public with a wider market reach. The implementation of this service refers to the two problems faced by MSME players by determining the main achievements in the form of MSME innovation strategies during the COVID-19 pandemic

The international financial crises experienced in recent years have led to the loss of confidence in capital markets. The understanding of organizational management has been developed to enable businesses to become reliable and robust institutions and to regain lost market confidence. The most important of the business information systems is the accounting information system (MBS). The accounting information system plays an important role in the development of corporate governance understanding and taking the necessary measures in this direction and also in the presentation of the results of the application to the relevant persons.

As a result of the research, it has been determined that there is a significant positive relationship between corporate governance understanding and accounting information systems. In this context, attention should be paid to the accounting information system to successfully implement corporate governance understanding in enterprises and to offer solutions to problems.
