Innovation - an innovation in the field of technology, technology, labor organization or management, based on the use of scientific achievements and best practices, providing a qualitative increase in the efficiency of the production system or product quality [3]. Pedagogical innovation is changes aimed at improving the development, education and training of students of a higher educational institution. At the present stage of development of pedagogical education, innovative processes have affected various areas. The search for new approaches is carried out in different directions - in the content, technologies, forms of organizing the activities of the subjects of the educational process, in assessing the results. Each pedagogical era gave birth to its own generation of technologies: - the first generation of educational technologies represented traditional methods; - Technologies of the second and third generations were modular-block and all-block training systems; - Integral technology belongs to the fourth generation of educational technologies.

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to significant changes in the field of higher education during 2020–2021 all over the world. The move of higher educational institutions to remote learning has become quite a challenge for all the participants in the educational process. Modernization, reform of health care and medical education require the updating and improvement of the quality of the education in higher medical institutions in Ukraine in an effort to train highly qualified future professionals with a high level of professional knowledge, skills and abilities, creative thinking, better human qualities, national consciousness. A major role in achieving changes for the better belongs to the lecturer of the educational institution, as the professionalism of the future physician and scientist depends on the lecturer’s potential, professionalism, modernity, mobility and ability to motivate and understand the desires of modern graduates. The aim of the research is to identify and justify current requirements and challenges for lecturers of a higher medical educational institution in the conditions of COVID-19 pandemic. We have distinguished the major most important areas of activity of the lecturer of a higher medical educational institution: professional-pedagogical, educational-methodical, scientific research and educational activity. We have revealed the current requirements and challenges for the lecturer of higher educational institution, which include: mastery of the latest techniques of teaching and learning, fluency in a foreign language, ability to use innovative computer technology, high stress resistance, virtuous dedication, desire to enrich and update their knowledge, successfully combine their general cultural qualities with professional ones, to cultivate in themselves the qualities, which they wish to form in the student. Particular attention should be paid to such a requirement for the lecturer as respect for the students, for their modern views, their opinions without violating the principles of conformity and integrity. The lecturer must become an authority for the student, an example to follow in professional activities and social life. At the present stage of development of higher medical education, the teacher of a higher educational institution has a great responsibility - the training and formation of a highly moral and educated person - a future qualified medical specialist. The activity of a modern high school teacher is quite complex and multifaceted. Society always considers the activities of the teacher as a mission, and to his personality - makes special moral and ethical requirements. Human activity is a conscious task that encompasses a system of actions aimed at achieving a goal. The conscious nature of human activity is manifested in its planning, prediction of results, regulation of actions, and the desire for improvement. In view of this, it should be noted that the modern teacher must not only be adapted to rapid social, economic, ideological changes, but also be able to analyze contemporary processes, predict their development, outline ways of further transformation. Conclusions. Modernization of education is quite complex and specific, so it requires special knowledge, skills, abilities and patience. Therefore, in the person of a teacher who should be a mentor, students can gain a sufficient level of knowledge and practical skills, get answers to all their questions for further self-improvement. The teacher's understanding of these changes, which requires the transition of the educational process from the national orientation of higher education to European, is extremely important for both, for the teacher and the student, as well as for the higher education institution and for the country as a whole.

This article is devoted to the analysis of the concepts of «methodology» in general, and «methodology in education» in particular. The analysis of the main classical methods in the field of teaching a foreign language such as «natural» and «grammatical-translation», indicate the urgent need for training and application of the student audience to achieve conscious foreign language knowledge in a non-linguistic higher educational institution of general economic profile.

A method for modeling and printed circuit board layout in the form of a 3D model in one of the digital solutions designed for this task, Altium Designer, is proposed. The practical significance of the work is the study of the basic software libraries in terms of their creation, filling and application when working with the project, as well as of the algorithm for constructing an electrical circuit in the Altium Designer program, layout and design of the simplest circuit on the board. In the course of the work, the algorithm and rules for creating a library of three-dimensional models of components, a library containing conditional graphic designations of the corresponding components, a schematic diagram of the device, a three-dimensional model of the board and the construction of conducting tracks on it are described. The components and circuits used in the work are publicly available on the Internet, which allows anyone to work over the entire algorithm for studying and honing the skills of designing printed circuit boards, both by students studying at a higher educational institution and by fully-fledged specialists. This work can be used not only for teaching students in the field of electronic device development in terms of their design and for organizing laboratory work, but also for creating and designing real devices both in production and within a higher educational institution, for example, for creating a laboratory bench. The introduction and study of this software is carried out at the Department of Radio-Electronic Systems and Complexes of one of the leading engineering universities of the Russian Federation — the Bauman Moscow State Technical University.

Purpose This paper aims to identify and model the key barriers to implementation of project-based learning (PjBL) in higher educational institution. Design/methodology/approach Using the interpretive structural modelling (ISM) technique, the study has developed a hierarchical-based model, depicting the mutual relationships amongst the key barriers to implementation of PjBL. Additionally, the paper has performed Matrice d’ Impacts Croises Multiplication Appliqué an Classement (MICMAC) analysis to categorize the barriers in terms of their driving and dependence power. Findings The study has identified the key barriers to implementation of PjBL and presented an integrated model using ISM. Higher educational institutions need to pay attention to diagnose and overcome these hindrances for effective implementation of PjBL in their programmes. Research limitations/implications The study adopts a systematic way to model the relevant barriers to implementation of PjBL. The ISM-based model would help higher education institutions to prioritize the issues as the barriers are hierarchically structured. As the input to model development is based on the experts’ opinions, it may be biased, influencing the final output of the structural model. Originality/value The presentation of PjBL implementation barriers in the form of an ISM-based model is a new effort. The model would be useful to understand the barriers and overcome these for the successful implementation of PjBL in higher educational institutions.
